Orange Drop Rate
I've been running a fair bit of paper/scanner and tip missions, and my orange rate has actually been pretty decent, IMO. I can't quantify it in terms of drops/hour or anything without going back and data mining my chat logs, but it felt pretty reasonable. I haven't gotten that many good rares. But I got a LotG: Def/End (which I kept to use) and a couple of Sirocco's Dervish pieces (Acc/Dam and Dam/End). I also got an Impervious Skin mez resist drop while on a Synapse. All the rest was super junky - Sandman and Glimpse and stuff like that.
I'm guessing it's just random being random.

Eh, my set IO drops - orange or yellow - usually seem like they are horrid. Tons of temp powers, tons of standard IO, few others. Ok, I do seem to get a lot of Calibrated Accuracy.
These days it seems like I get more Pool Bs and Pool Cs from rolling Hero Merits. I'm sure that's largely perception from me discounting Ghost Widows, Glimpse of the Abyss, etc (actually, many of those drops were probably Pool Bs too). But dealing in Pool Cs seems so much more reliable these days.

About the only orange drops ive gotten lately are temps. lol.
then I do my patron arc and I get Sting of the Manticore and Trap of The Hunter. Both vendor trash.
I really wish they'd adjust the rates to favor combat recipes even more than they already did. Ah well, random is random.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Got three oranges in three missions tonight. >.>
They all sucked for profit purposes, though. Perfect Zinger proc, Expedient Reinforcement triple, Celerity: Endurance.

I find that if I log out of ouroboros, I get more yellow and orange recipe drops during missions the next day. Whether these drops are profitable is a different matter.
See what happens when you complain about the drop rate of purples and PvP io's...
I've noticed something wrong with the orange drop rate over the past few weeks. I usually do at least 1 ITF per day, and used to get at least 1 saleable orange recipe per run ( even if it was just a Posi's blast or something else in the 5-10 million range ). Lately, nothing. The orange drop rate seems to have been reduced to near zero.

That's a really silly thing to assume.
Did you read what any of the rest of us reported? I've gotten at least 10 orange drops (and I mean pool A, not pool B mission end drops) in the last week, playing a single-target character in door missions.
You're jumping to ridiculous conclusions based on your sample set.

Well, since I'm at home today, what with work being closed, I wandered through 5 tips and an alignment mission set to +0/x2.

Actually, you have not "noticed" something. What you have is an "impression" based on the drops YOU have received. My drop rate has been just fine.

About 6-8 weeks ago, I got 8 purples drops on my brute in less than 10 days. 3 dropped on one mission! They dropped solo, they dropped on teams. And they were all good ones, save one sleep one. My SG mates were getting rather annoyed with me. So, I should have assumed the devs cranked the drop rate on purples? No, the RNG was just working in my favor for a change. Since then, not one purple has dropped on any of my toons with no change in playstyle.
Random means random. It doesnt mean one drop every xxx amount of kills, it means each kill has a .xxx chance to drop something.

If you're having trouble getting oranges to drop, you gotta stand under the tree and give it a swift kick. If that doesn't work, try shaking it. If still nothing, try again in a couple days, as the oranges are probably not ripe yet.

Tried farming the wall in Cim for a couple hours with my shield scrap and plant troller yesterday. Zip.
Decided to pull my Fire/Kin out of mothballs this morning and run a few Battle Maiden maps just to see how many orange drops I could get. I cleared the map four times. Again, zip. Plenty of yellow drops, but that's about it.
Just wondering if anyone else had noticed the same thing? Are we now supposed to resort to ticket farming and/or hero merits to get our orange recipes now?
