clock

iv been playing this game since launch, and there is one thing iv always wanted in the game but has never been put in. that is simply a clock of some form. i like to be able to glance at the time not have to minimize the game to see what time it is.

so i was wondering if anyone knows anything about if the devs will ever put one in the game, i know its something small, and most will say their time is better put else where but i still would like to see one.

You could always play in windowed mode, even with the game occupying the entire screen you'll still have the taskbar and the clock on it in the lower right corner.

/bind KEY localtime

Then press the KEY you designated any time you want to see what time it is. The time from your computer's clock will appear in your chat window.

I too wish there was a clock built-in somewhere in the HUD. I sub to that Other Rather Large MMOG and like the on-screen clock it provides. I've often wished CoX had that feature too.

However, like the other poster suggested, I play CoX in windowed mode, which makes the Windows clock easy to access in your task bar (assuming your OS is Windows). Something you might give a try.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?

You should change your forum name to Master-Slash, as in "Master of the slash commands"!

Can you macro that with the wait emote and have the time display in a chat bubble? That would be neato. I would use that on every character I have.

Unfortunately, no. There are only six "dollar" variables that can be inserted into text:

$name
$target
$archetype
$origin
$level
$battlecry

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)

LoL. You guys are silly. I know I seem to answer a lot of the slash command questions, and I come up with a lot of inventive ways to use them, but I wouldn't go as far to say I'm a master. I learn more about them every time I test things for somebody else's thread. Most of the stuff I don't know ahead of time, but I check the Wiki for commands and try a bunch of stuff until I get it to work. haha

On a side note, I think that remark would have been more deserving in the Villain Names thread. This one was too easy. lol

Thanks guys.

Sounds fun, and I think I know a way to do it, but not without using 3rd party software, so that means it'd be against the rules and I can't tell you.

So does my keyboard. Sucks, I'll have to grab this thing to get near to replacing mine when/if it dies...

At least, if I stay with Logitech.

The reason the "simple" clock request hasn't been granted is probably the same reason you never find one in a casino, or departmentstore; if you don't see how much time you've spent readily playing it's harder for people to regulate "oh I'm only going to play 30 minutes each day so I don't get addicted [I lol at parents with those rules ]".

People have argued that since it's subscription based their ideal would be you paying and spending a lot of time out of game. But on the contrary, if you're "out" too long you could grow bored and cancel.

Reminds me.

All "video lottery" (cause we don't have non-N.A.T. casinos, and slot machines are only in casinos in Oregon so they can't be in the restaurant or bar) are required to display the time somewhere on each game screen :P
