How much do you store on one character?
Wow, I'm not sure how I managed this, but I realized this is completely in the wrong section. Is it possible for someone to move this to the market section?
I'm just curious how my fellow ebil-doers store all of their dirty, dirty money. How much do you keep on a single character at a time? Do you spread it out because you're worried about a glitch causing you to lose it? Or do you keep it all on one character?

I also have a personal (as-in "it's only my alts that are in the SG") base enhancement storage bin which currently has around 20-30 billion worth of the rarer crafted IOs in it.
I'm a farmer rather than a flipper though, so I tend to only have sales up rather than bids up most of the time (unless I've just got a character to level 50 and am looking to kit them out...) and even then the bigger sales tend to be fairly occasional unless I'm actively trying to raise inf for something - my last big purchase involved gathering together about 12 billion worth of PVP IOs for a new Tank build, the cash raising and bids for that lasted about two weeks.
Since i18 I've slowed down on cash farming even more, as when I sit down for a play session these days and there's no TFs on the go, I currently tend to either level an alt or duo Alignment missions and Ouroboros Arcs (at level 50) for Hero Merit Conversion.
I rarely have more than 150 million in actual influence on a single character, at a given time. It's just too easy to make a typo, and accidentally bid 500 mill etc on something you really wanted to bid 50 million for. I've got several market toons, who just keep constantly reinvesting their profits on stuff.
Most of the marketing toons have about 4-5 billion in influence tied up on their slots, in various ways. So I might only have 150 million in cash, but I might be bidding on oh I dunno...various purples, and pvp io's to the tune of 2 or 3 billion, and selling stuff amounting to 1.5 billion etc. Soon as my sales come in, I turn around and rebid on more purples, etc to keep my actual influence low, but my net worth very high. Eventually I transfer a billion or two to a different toon, and do the same thing. I started off with one main marketeer, and now have about 6 of them doing their thing, and making me money. :-D
I used to do the level 53 IO bid thing to store inf, but then I decided it was more practical to actually use the money in lowballing(If you consider 100s of millions lowballing) very desirable enhancements or recipes. I've actually scored a lot of what I consider great deals doing this. You know...say a Ragnarok Triple is selling for like 500 mill. I might put a lowball bid in for like 302 million, and win it in a few days. Then I turn around and sell that for maybe 600 million on a weekend, and take my profits and bid on two more ragnarok triples, etc.
about a billion on all my 50s

BUUUUT seriously folks...
Mostly my characters keep whatever they make. I'll use gleemail if someone 'poor' wants something expensive, but that's about it. Over the course of the week most of my market mules fluctuate between 100m-1.5b, then Sunday night I skim a billion off the top and gleemail it to my main 88'er to feed the furnace.

i generally keep 1.5-2b on as many as 12 toons. Right now when ever I get more than 2 b on one of them ill toss it to my 88 toon and burn it.
I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.
In general I keep a billion or so on my marketeering toons and whenever they get near the cap send some off to an alt. The total tends to ebb and flow depending on my activities, at the moment I've been buying up some expensive stuff to IO out a new character who's approaching 50 and drained the reserves of most of my alts to do so so I'm down to about 3billion or so spread accross my two marketeers and the alt I'm planning to IO.
I keep about 6 "producing" toons at all times...these are buying recipes and crafting them. If there is room they also sell a couple. In general they have about 1.5B each on them liquid at the begining of being a producer and then I drop them back out to selling when they reach 500M.
Generally the recipes created by these producers will fill the market slots of about 12 more toons which generally average holding about 1B or so. I have a 2B storage toon on every server from the old days when I did inf exchanges for people cross server for a fee (pre-gleemail). I also have about 100M on every toon above 10th level on every server....as I have severe altitis thats alot of 100Ms.
When any toon which is actively working in any way cracks 1.85B I gleemail 1B off them and toss it in either my own inf burning pit or the '88s pit....or occasionally buy something nice.
I try not to store multiple billions on the market deliberately with one exception. I keep a bid out on my main for 3 PvP IOs which exceed 2B most of the time at 2B each. When one fills I either slot it or sell it off-market. They don't fill very often so its basically storage.
Any character that I play will generally have between 200mm and a 1bn. I don't tend to have "marketing" characters per se, since they all market to some small extent. It's sometimes hard to tell, since if I ever have more than 200mm I will usually tie that up in bids.
Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html
Normally I'd give a generic answer. Lately it's been "500 to 700 million on all of my marketing characters." But let's be specific:

Aside from the "store it in a lvl 53 IO" method - are there any other tricks for storing mass volumes of liquid inf ? What other methods or tricks are out there, if any ?
I considered investing in a SG prestige bank, but I might be too much of a pack ratketeer for that. In a way I'm my own little inf destruction project, as I use far less than I make with my marketing schemes. Loaded onto my super heroes who even with their mighty statures are bent low under the burdens.
I've already distributed the 2 bill to as many alt slots as I'd like, so my non market capacity is as far as I'd like to go.
I'm not really interested in investing in particular IO's to "hoard" for value. I dont see that as a stable enough method for a number of factors.
So - are there any other methods folks use to store their big liquid assets ?
Over the hills and through the woods.
I only have a modest pile of inf and I still don't know what to do with it, so acquiring more inf becomes an academic thing.
I now have 1-2 billion on every single toon
Like many others, most (all?) of my L50 toons keep 1 -1.5B on hand these
days, and I also keep 25M or so in gleemail, in case I get the urge to start
a newbie toon.
A couple of those 50s are my active marketeers, so their balances fluctuate.
Most of my actively levelling toons keep ~200 M or so on them for "necessities".
Any "excess" gets shuffled into Granny's Crazy 88's Investment Portfolio

Another effective idea is storing it in non-winning bids for the big hitter IOs.
For instance, you could sock away 500M, or a 3 stack of 500M bids on
the Glad Armor proc. Those would never fill, and if they did, you'd be
shouting hallelujah from the rooftops...
The one caveat with stacks is the problem of going over 2B if you tried to
claim the stack - that's a Bad Thing, so be careful about that and don't
let a stack get that high (ie. you couldn't re-claim a 10 stack of 500M bids).
This is the method that I porbably would have used if I hadn't shuffled 14B
or so over to Granny for the 88's firepit (she catches chill easily)...

I usually work one character to two billion at a time and then switch to another to continue marketeering. I of course redistribute the inf across characters when needed. All new alts get a starting fund of 100mil, so every character has at least 100mil
I added up all my funds and it seems I have about 12 billion in liquid assets.

In general, if I have someone that's working on their build, they have a lot of inf.
My 'market mules' usually have a couple hundred million at any given time, to cover listing fees and give them flexibility if I see a hot deal I want to jump on. Anything above that gets gleemailed to my 88'er.
My farmers usually have around a billion on hand, when it starts getting up toward the cap I gleemail it to my 88'er.
Characters I play more or less regularly tend to have a few hundred million on hand, just from selling drops and casual marketeering (I have one guy that's been buying up large inspirations cheap, turning them into big defenses and selling them for 500k each...not super profitable, but over time it does add up).

My City Was Gone
I spread it around, though my higher toons will generally be at or over the 1B mark and my newer toons will hover around 300M. As I get over 1.7B or so, I gleemail a few 100M to a poorer toon.

Personally, I have about 8 of my 12 billion in liquid assets at the moment on a single character. Around half of that is tied up in actual marketeering, the rest is just 2 billion inf bids on level 53 recipes. I have 2 alts on another server that have 2 billion each, just in case something were to happen to that character or the markets. Sort of my 'money under the bed' as it were.
How about you?
