Looks like Dr. Orpheus will get some screen time. I like him.

Christ! My opinion of Doc Venture has changed. If that's the stuff locked up and going on in Rusty's head, and he's managed to keep himself going vs. blasting his head off in a drug induced frenzy then Kudos to him.

Exactly! I do hope he gets his crap together now and turns his life around somewhat.

"What did you spray on him?"
"Relax, it was only Sprite."
"It's full of sugar! You just fed the ants!"

Also loved the scene with the Moppets. (erm...the Pupa Twins...whatever)

I also have secret door-opening powers.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

I could kick myself, but I missed the first eight minutes or so. For some reason, I thought it came on at MIDNIGHT... but on a lark, I swapped over around 11:37pm and BOOM, there was Orpheus and Eros-Billy and Thanatos-White.

LOVED the interaction with Dr. Mrs. The Monarch Girlfriend (whatever she calls herself now-a-days)... and Henchman 21.

Nice to see him finally step up and make a move (and, although alcohol may be to blame, Dr. Girlfriend seemed to reciprocate). I fear, though, what this may mean for the character(s). Could Henchman 21 and Dr. Girlfriend depose the Monarch and kick him out? Would the Monarch take -action- against Henchman 21 were he to find out what happened? For all his apparent ineptitude, the Monarch IS a killer (Doctor Manatee, wasn't it, that he whacked when he was searching for someone new to arch?)

I'll have to see if I can snag the whole thing on repeat somewhere... be interested to see hwo the whole thing started ('mind assassination device is against guild rules' you say?)

Finally, we have discovered Brock Sampson's superpower.

Good episode with some surprising plot advancement. Now I'm wondering whether the season finale will feature the Revenge Society, Brock vs. Hatred, or Monarch vs. 21. Or probably all three.

Well I do know the title for the finale is called "Operation: P.R.O.M." and from what the schedules are showing I think it will be an hour long. Next week's title is Silent Partners.

It's a nice thought, but I think if the characters got their stuff together, the show would lose a lot of its appeal.

Publick: "This show... If you'll permit me to get 'big picture', this show is actually all about failure. Even in the design, everything is supposed to be kinda the death of the space-age dream world. The death of the jet-age promises."

Hammer: "It's about the beauty of failure. It's about that failure happens to all of us...Every character is not only flawed, but sucks at what they do, and is beautiful at it and Jackson and I suck at what we do, and we try to be beautiful at it, and failure is how you get by...It shows that failure's funny, and it's beautiful and it's life, and it's okay, and it's all we can write because we are big...failures. (laughter)"

How is Brock Samson a failure at what he does? He has more than a few regrets ... but failures? I think Hammer and Publick are going to have to illuminate a side of Brock we haven't really seen so far.

Great show. Am wondering where it'll go from there storywise.

In other news, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch has now directed the face of cosplay this spring/summer. She did it once with the Jackie O homage, and now this. Was not expecting that.

Sis - boom - bah, folks.

Currently playing:
The Domestic: Broom/WP
Shadowhex: Dark Control/Dark Affinity
Defenestration Lass: Grav/Kin

Brock's failures as a super spy led directly to him being placed in a "babysitting" mission, Operation: Rusty's Blanket. Yes, he is a Swedish Murder Machine, but his gig as Doc Venture's bodyguard didn't exactly suit his skills.

As long as there's not the accompanying Henchman 21 in bondage gear, I approve.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Well, the season finale has to do with a Prom, but there are screens of SPHINX moving in on Spider Skull Island.

Don't forget ORB (Operation: Rusty's Blanket, Orders Regarding Bodyguard).

I can think of 5 things off the top of my head...

1) Brock Sampson is from Minnesota * fail (just kidding)

2) Brock Sampson is a fan of classic rock * fail (just kidding)

3) Brock Sampson seems to prefer to kill with a knife, his bare hands and running others over with his Dodge Charger * semi-fail (it gets the job done, but how much higher would his kill count be if he actually shot the bad guys)

4) Brock Sampson is the epitome of hyper masculine/hyper sexual and he's in love with a mercenary named "Cocktease" that wears a chastity belt * fail

5) Brock Sampson wears a mullet * fail overkill

Im a big Brock fan, but I'm just saying

I think Brock was actually assigned bodyguard duties by Sergeant Hatred when Hatred was still working as a double agent for the OSI...more of a punishment move since Brock and Gathers were tyring to get 1 up on 'The Guild'.

In rebuttal Jerseyan...

1) Not quite that much of a fail. If he had been from Iowa, that would be a real fail. Minnesota...eh. A little too Canadian though.

2) Better than being a fan of bubblegum pop.

3) Quality, not quantity. He likes being...up close and personal...

4) All the guys want to be him and all the women just want him...not much of a fail there. Notice though how Molotov was in The Rusty's subconscious?

5) Business in the front, party in the back. Aw ya...

I couldn't really think up any quality fail for Brock (even though being in love with Cocktease is right there). I think the whole mullet deal is a play on the biblical Sampson, but meh. Good stuff sir

Oh yeah, I can see why Cocktease was in The Rusty's subconcious...he chased her for at least 75% of the episode where she took over babysitting/bodyguarding duties while Brock was on another assignment.

The episode about Hank's summer had a whole joke about that. "You know, that guy who was like, super strong until he lost his hair?"

Good points. Wasn't Operation: Rusty's Blanket an important covert operation to monitoring the mysterious and important ORB device, though? And isn't his current gig with Sphinx (Sphinx!!) more suitable for his talents?

The closest I've seen Brock get to revealing regrets was when he was warning Hank off joining Sphinx (Sphinx!!) as trainee, although that could have been because Hank has a false sense of his own immortality since he can't remember how many times he's died and had his memories uploaded into a clone. (The Venture Bros. canon does get complicated, doesn't it?)

Contrast Brock's stoic confidence (or is it resignation?) with T.S.'s constant vacillation between conceited egocentricity and abject self-loathing. In any case, I'm looking forward to catching up on this episode when it airs online.

An ORB device that, as it turns out, did nothing. Oh, the tangled web this show weaves.

Which was really a shame. I really felt the show seemed to lose a lot of momentum there. I'm really curious to rewatch season 4 without the break in the middle to see if I'd feel the same way without the delay between that episode (which seemed to throw out everything without adding anything) and the later building of the Revenge Society in the newest episodes.
