RED came out today and it was AWESOME! absolutely hillarious, and well done. Great action, and some great comedic moments by a cast that was perfectly picked and worked brilliantly today.

The scene at the end was priceless.

I enjoyed it immensely.

You always get that much more out of a movie when it's clear the cast is having a ball with it.

I see myself as witty, urbane, highly talented, hugely successful with a keen sense of style. Plus of course my own special brand of modesty.

They did seem to be having fun with the movie. And I personally didn't get bored with the movie at any point, going "okay speed this up now"

5/5 for me. The last time I was that pleasantly surprised from a movie was Zombieland. All around good entertainment.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

There were several times during the movie that both my wife and I wanted the projectionist to rewind a scene and watch it again because the scenes were just that freaking awesome.

Honestly?

Better than The Expendables, IMHO.

Same for me, I enjoyed every minute of the movie.

mentioned this in the vs jackass thread: i enjoyed red and had fun watching it. i found there to be alot of dry and understated humor about it that appealed to me. having read ellis' original comic, there was a great deal to flesh out but the basic premise remains the same, as well as a number of the comic panel shots and general feel.

i may get winged with this statement, but i had a few moments there where i was reminded of a cohen bros flick. not bad at all.

That really makes me want to see this, even more than I already did; I left both The A-Team and The Expendables thinking that what made those films good was the fact that the cast was clearly having a great time working on it. I'm glad to hear the same thing can be said for this one.

I concur having seen it. The cast clearly enjoyed the heck out of making this movie and they worked so well together that it must have been very easy to make the movie.

Just saw it last night. Enjoyed it thoroughly. It's nice to see older characters not be regulated to the "Mentor that dies so the young hero can win" role. Karl Urban was very good as well.

Now that the Baby-Boomers are getting older I suspect we'll be seeing more "older people as the main stars of the movie" type action movies.
