Unofficial Handbook to the Virtue Universe - Now Extra Shiny

I'm having serious trouble logging in and viewing pages on VV lately. Every time I try to log in or goto a page, it takes forever and eventually times out. Any ideas what's wrong with it?

Our hosting provider will be performance hardware updates on Sunday November 13th from 5 AM to 10 AM EST.

During that time the site may be unavailable.

I've finally finished implementing the first part of allowing advertising on VV.

Before anyone screams "OMG SELL OUT" this is only for in game, virtue related advertising. It is not open to any commercial entities and it is entirely free.

Basically you can advertise for your events, your SGs, or even just make fun ads for your in character stuff. This is currently being limited to about 10 per month. Event ads and SG recruitment ads will take priority. Ads for fun will be listed but at a lower priority. All ads will run 30 days. For fun ads can be left indefinately as "house" advertising that shows when nothing else higher is listed.

Guidelines:

1. In an effort to keep VirtueVerse within its theme we only accept advertising that is directly related to the Virtue Universe. This includes Supergroup recruitment and event ads, server wide event ads, server wide story event ads and even your own fictious ads pointing to your content on VirtueVerse.
2. Animated Adverts are not accepted, nor are flash based ads. JPG, PNG, or static gif images are fine.
3. Adverts can not use excessive amounts of neon or extremely bright colors. Try to keep them tasteful.
4. Adverts are not currently being accepted for mature content.
5. Adverts can not break any of our Terms of Use

Just a heads up. VirtueVerse will be going black tomorrow. You will be unable to make any edits or visit any pages for the duration of the black out.

The blackout will go from 12:01 EST to 11:59 EST on January 18th. Your data will not be affected.

The wiki has returned as the protest has ended. Please report any issues you encounter.

Downtime Friday February 17 - 18

Our host has schedule a large window of down time coming up on Friday, February 17th from 8PM EST (5PM PST) to approximately 8AM EST (5AM PST). The purpose of this downtime is going to be to physically move the server to a new data center. This will hopefully resolve some of the intermittent connection issues that have plagued the site for a few months now.

Please keep an eye on the @VirtueVerse twitter feed for updates.

For some reason, I'm unable to upload pictures. I keep getting a warning, saying "File Extension does not match MIME type." The file(s) I'm trying to upload is/are .jpg picture types.

EDIT: DERP. Nevermind. The destination file name was the problem.

It's a mess, but been piddling away at finally updating Imp's profile with a major overhaul. So, if you want to take a look under the hood while I work on things, keep it mind this is a (very obvious) WIP:

I will be performing maintenance the 21st of every month deleting unused files/images and deleting the list of pages/images on the Categories: Deletion Request page. Please do not upload any new images or files until the maintenance has finished otherwise your image/file may be deleted on accident.


Please remember to keep your image or file sizes at or under the 151kb limit on VV. Starting Sept 3rd I will no longer be changing the size for you unless asked. This means that all images above the 151kb limit will be deleted and not replaced until you resize it.

Ransim and myself will be working on a project for Virtueverse to keep the community/devs in touch if you/they so feel inclined! Expect this to be up by Monday evening. Spread the word!!!

I never put any of my toons on the UHTTVU...Now I feel very saddened I never did. I don't want to lose touch with the community...

I've always been thankful for the existence of the UH, letting me expand and showcase my characters (and/or fiction). Now it becomes even more vital, special and precious, as a way of preserving some of what we're about to lose.

Considering I have no plans to transfer Seismecca over to CO, or...play CO at all, Virtueverse and CoHVeterans are going to be my only link to you guys from now on.

So, you know, looking forward to whatever you guys have planned.

Maybe I'll finally find the time to finish up some of my pages and characters that I never got around to doing right.

Thanks so much for providing us with Virtueverse. One of my greatest enjoyments from the community, no doubt.

Just a quick post, I just returned to the US a few hours ago. Virtueverse will be continuing moving forward and we will be working on plans for a more robust space for the Virtue Community to thrive in.

I am open to ideas and want to talk with a few other similar projects people have already discussed. Hopefully I'll have more details in the next few days.
