That GW carving looks amazing! It turned out well.

Well I did another carve the other night. This one is a double sided carve, Dr. Jekyll on one side with Mr. Hyde on the other. I am trying to figure out how to photograph them without the back side pattern being viewable in the photo.

Flash - That came out totally awesome! Great job!

Mystic - Maybe next time you do two images on one you shouldn't do on opposite sides? I suppose you may want some distance between the two for structural reasons but I am thinking opposite sides makes it harder to show off both at once... Still, hreat job on that one as with all of them

Well in the strange case of Jekyll and Hyde, you only see one side at a time. For display, I think I will barrow my moms lazy susan turntable.

As for my earlier dilemma, I'm thinking of lining the inside of both carves with tissue paper to eliminate the 'show through' of the reserve side.

Something a little more simple and traditional Halloween,

This one is going to a friend of my moms who asked for something "Halloween'ish"

Still to come,

Elvira, Princess Tiana (for my cousins 1 year old) and Erik the Phantom, if I can settle on a design of the stencil..

Geez, you just keep cranking them out, don't ya?

And I'd love to see the Ghost Widow pumpkin lit up.

edit: so *that's* what that little scroll bar on the bottom is for :P

Yea, I'm getting a little carried away this year.. but in all honesty, I don't expect to carve many next year.. maybe 5. That's the only issue with them not rotting.. Pretty soon I'll need a room dedicated for Foam Pumpkins :P

The image Flashrains posted is huge. On the right side there's a 'lit' version, might have to scroll over to see it, maybe?

Heheh. Well you mostly got it. It's Gordon Freeman and the Gman from Half Life 2, and a headcrab from the same.

Heh, Meatwad Simple, but effective!

Zekiran_Immortal, those are some neat looking carves. Well done!

Well, with Halloween only a few days away I decided to be a little more generous, and give away some of my Monster pumpkins. My original Gillman and Wolf Man each now have a new home. Gillman went to my Uncle who thought it looked amazing the first time he saw it, while the Wolf Man went to one of my Aunt who has been -hinting- at getting one to put on display in her bay window.. and for my other Aunt, I carved Chewbacca by request.

Now, with a Monster collection feeling incomplete, I had to carve a new Wolf Man and Gillman, but sticking to my rule of not carving the same pattern twice.. I carved the following..

That's better, set complete once again. I gotta say, I am really loving the second Gillman more.

I managed to get my hands on a Vincent Price pattern, so that will be my next carve. Then I think I will carve Elvira tomorrow night. This has been a lot of fun, I hope you all enjoyed seeing the finished pumpkins. I had a blast carving them.

Pre-Happy Halloween All!

As promised, here's Vincent Price,

I really love this pattern, definitely my favorite this year!

Also, I had a little extra time last night after watching Ghostbusters 1 & 2 (back to back), so I carved everyone's favorite Mogwai on one of the medium sized Pumpkins.

Ok, well mines not quite as artistically done, I'm not that good, but my pumpkin might appeal to some of the fans of the genre on here

My husband carved an Overseer as our jack-o-lantern this year !!

not to shabby for having about half the tools he wanted to do this !

Not a foam pumpkin (Or all that impressive by the standards of some of the others in this thread... There are some seriously awesome carvings upthread-), but CodeMonkey's jack-o-lantern went a little Rogue this year.

That Overseer is incredible! I love the texture your husband achieved from scrapping the skin/flesh away. Well done!

As for the Rogue emblem, well that's just awesome!

...but the true winner is the Borg o'lantern, that is outstanding!

Well, Halloween was a little quiet.. only had a few trick or treaters (mainly nieces and nephews). I set up a display for 4 of my Movie Monsters (Dracula, Wolf Man, Frankenstein and Gillman).. I would have loved to put them all on display, but I simply couldn't find anymore lights.. anywhere..

I did manage to carve one last pumpkin before Dexter came on tonight. Here's Elvira Mistress of the Dark.

I have a medium sized pumpkin that I will be carving a turkey into for Thanksgiving for my mom... but I am going to wait a few weeks. Going to give my carving hand a rest. Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween, feel free to share anymore pumpkin carvings!
