Stock up now on salvage
The alc silvers sound like small potatoes, the costume salvage somewhat better.
Really though, flipping salvage regularly is worth a lot more than saving some and waiting for prices to rise.

I suggested something similar last year and it didn't meet my expectations. The best I saw halloween salvage go for was 200-250k and the test salvage I had up all year never sold for the 400k I was expecting.
You can do this, but really, it's not that much profit for the time involved. On my hero merit character, playing just half-hour a day (5 tip missions and 1 alignment every other day) and he's already 1.3 billion after about 2 weeks. It's much better earning potential and I'm not even working it as hard as I could.

When we first got the market, people were DUMPING the costume salvage. I bought nearly 100 sets at an average of 17,000 inf per set. Not 'per piece' - PER SET OF FOUR.
I still haven't used it up despite giving it away to friends.

Meh, I'll still pay 200k for em after Halloween. I don't really care enough to store it somewhere.
Kinda speaks to how lazy I am that I have a field crafter who has yet to make common IOs for any of my characters. I'd rather spend the extra inf and buy it nao! from someone rather than bother myself with logging out... grabbing the salvage, dropping the table... making it... mailing it back to myself... then logging out again.
Wow I'm lazy.
Stock up! Every one of my characters will be happy to pay you 200k later this year for each piece of salvage you were kind enough to store for me
Me, I just bought up a ton of the slow resist IOs during the winter event and resold them later. Bought 50 at 5 mil each, resold them for amounts between 30 and 50 million.

Just a heads up for people planning on doing this:
Halloween Salvage is going to tank so hard this year. Why? Because a large portion of the playerbase won't have any use for it.
Any player with Going Rogue can run up to six costume slot missions (three on each side), meaning that (without using any salvage) they can unlock up to seven slots, even though they'll cap at five before they finish all the missions!
Of course, characters that "stay true", and players without GR will still have use for the salvage, but that's gonna be a lot less than it used to be, and the prices have gone down every year since I started without changes like this.

Mac, Your avatar switcheroo list is cracking me up.
This was one of the several ways I got my early millions but now it's too small potatoes for me to bother with.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Something was up last night. Inert Gas had only 4 left, and 13000 bidding! lol. I got 2 of the last 4 for 120k each(I needed them nao!) and I saw a few bids for 1 million! lol
There are some marketeers who play white salvage. Why? Must be to buff their ego's.
They'll say it's a free market and not regulated.
Thank god we have laws against murder and ****.
That's why I'm an advocate of stores or crafting tables selling white salvage. At worst, white salvage would skyrocket to 750 infl. I'm sure crazy prices on white salvage turns people away from the game. I stopped playing redside when the market got crazy, since I didn't know any one at the time I could make an infamy for influence transfer with. But since white salvage is not vendored, I guess it's really not bad for the game. Or it must be what the top brass think.

Yet we still see million INF inert gases and such during some non-peak periods -- I see the goofy prices start when the West coast players go to bed and stay that way 'till dawn here on the East coast. And if the prices get TOO goofy, I go burn a couple hundred tickets, get what I need, and sell and profit from the rest.

I know that this is a crazy thought, but it bears repeating:
If you don't want to pay that much for common salvage, don't. Put in a low bid and wait. Someone like me will come along and dump all their salvage for 1, and fill those lowballers. If you don't want to do it that way, you could run some missions (using ouroboros if needed to exemplar), street hunt, or run some AE to get tickets to roll.
If you're crazy, you could even make a personal SG and place a crapload of salvage tables just so that you can store all your common salvage so it's there when you need it.
Then, you take all that common salvage that you don't need (You're smart, and ignored that bit about storing it, right?) and sell it at the grossly inflated prices so that you can have money too!
No, that would never work. There's no way that people who just use the market intelligently and never delve into teh ebil could make millions, nay billions, of inf. Oh, wait...

The problem in this game isn't GETTING stuff, it's educating people on all the places they CAN get stuff.

Then I just sell off everything once I start making level 41+ IOs. (I IO characters as they level, starting in the late 20s, rather than waiting till 50).
If you do much soloing at +0/x2 you'll get more salvage than you need. When I team, however, I don't think you can quite be self-sufficient.
Halloween event is coming. We all know what that means.
Stock up on the Alc Silvers, and other common salvages that sell for 4-5k or more during the year.
Prepare to buy Costume salvages for 50kish so you can turn around and sell them for 5-10 times as much later this year.
This message is to everyone who plays. If you don't like high prices, STOCK UP. The Halloween event is the best time to buy up salvage you will want to use this year.
Scoff if you want to, but this is exactly what I do every year. I pick up high demand salvage for under 333 inf and costume salvage for alt use, and start up funds. The great thing about costume salvage is you can hold so much per character and then mail it to the ones that need it now.
