Run - the song by Snow Patrol or sung by Leona Lewis. Its a song about hope.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

This and...
Rick Springfield's "Human Touch"
Theme music to Tenchi Universe
Green Day's "She's a Rebel"
Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life" (admit it, we ALL have this one, along with Snow Patrol's "Run"
Smile DK's "Future Girls"
And Trevor Rabin's " Can't Look Away"

and lots and lots of background music from different movies, tv and anime...I figure I have at least fifty to sixty songs average in a winamp playlist (and yes, I have a couple of playlists for specific characters...

I tend to be more into your street-hero these days.

'Hero,' Chad Kruger.
'Invincible' and also 'Warrior,' Distrurbed.
'Adrenaline,' Gavin Rossdale.
'Attack,' 30 Seconds to Mars.
I based an entire story sequence around 'New Divide,' Linkin Park.

Loads of them, too many to mention.

Sure Promise, for those epic heroes of awesome. And giant robots.
Nothing says "good is not nice" like Rebellion: Ragna's Theme.
The Beginning is the End is the Beginning, for some reason. For those guys that never seem to lay down and die.
Last Resort (warning: language), for heroes who don't lay down and die, but currently suspect that they might.

BackAlleyBrawler: I can't facepalm this post hard enough.
ShoNuff: If sophisticated = bro-mantically emo-tastic, then I'm going to keep to my Shonen loving simplicity dammit.

i tend to get a lot from the band "superchick" usually songs are about coping with hardships, but the message about not beaking down, instead getting up and fighting, it tends to fit the genre.
still here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kymUXI0BnCs
stand in the rain- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKlRP3BuTK4
hero- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeLxp...eature=related (original version, the remix is nice too though the rapping is..unfortunate)

a more goofy song by the aquabats, works for female scrappers especially http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeLxp...eature=related
finally from the dropkick murphys- its thematically about boxing, but i think it fits a superhero well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CZyLiBxaQE
one for the police themed hero- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dj42W4wNnBQ
some resistance members may like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GfllMPjyTE
two more for the more populist hero-again from the murphys- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYMMu...eature=related , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4KMrc3eNdo&feature=related

Owen: Well I don't want to say on the phone - all I can tell you is that I killed her last night.
