Is Frenzy worth it for doms?

Title says it all, really. Does this provide any serious benefit? Putting aside the 6 minute recharge for a moment, from my experience the domination bar fills up quickly enough on it's own already. Opinions?

Love it. Amazing for Permadoms as well, that just want to leap straight into dom.

And the recharge is nice.

Y E S !.

Anyway, it's free. Worth it as opposed to what?

Worth the effort of doing 11 missions and a week's wait to pick up, since you asked

Is frenzy one of those cross over powers like duplicate er somethin'?

EDIT: I just looked at the power on P.wiki and WOW...hrmm seems like some of my doms will have to move back to red side...

My Dom is a hero and thus has Call to Justice, and I have to say, it really noticeably increases my kill speed on tough targets, especially since it affects pets too. I would probably take it over Frenzy.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

The way I see it, ultimately you're going to choose your alignment based on who you want to play with or what side you want to play on, not which inherent power you're going to get.

If you want to be able to earn Hero / Villain merits and the glorious amounts of inf they bring, you're either getting Frenzy or whatever the hero side version is. Neither of them are enhanceable and both give negligible bonuses infrequently.

The only poor decision is not to choose an alignment at all.

I can see it being handy if you haven't reached perma-dom levels of recharge. For a perma-dom, I think it's rather meh and I'd rather take Call to Justice. It's like carrying a few free inspirations.

I see it as a handy tool for entering a "that guy/those guys NEED(s) to be held now and my dom bar isn't filled" situations. Other then that, I'd rather the other ATs version on the power. More dmg is always a good thing.

dude! of course it's worth it1 You never know when it could save your butt! at the very least as a spare breakfree.

side note: call to justice is awesome for my MM as well

If you have ever died as a perma-Dom, you would know just how powerful this skill really is. A perma-Dom is just so much better with this skill because you are pretty much always perma, even on really high difficulty settings and in chaotic settings that might cause a faceplant here and there.

Is this a trick question?

Please buff Ice Control.

Yeah. Frenzy means that my perma-dom never has to spend a few minutes blasting before I get back to domination. Which can be a kind of big deal, since some spawns that are trivial with domination up are suddenly much scarier-looking without it.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Frenzy is so, SO worth it. As soon as you get it you now have a margin of error for permadom in case you forget to hit hasten or whatever. At higher levels, for ice at least, playing without status protection even for a little while really really sucks. I don't even bother toggling arctic air without dom up half the time thanks to all the half second stuns flying around.

Active (Freedom): Setna (Ice/Psi Dom), Arram (WP/KM Tank), Tesmiel (Elec/SS Tank), Astredax (Robot/Dark Mastermind), Operative Vidali (melee fortunata)

Retired (Virtue): Gaav (Inv/EM Tank), Baqra (Fire/SS Tank)

So let me get this straight...it fills up your bar AND you get +30 percent recharge for 20 secs? Paragon wiki confuses me a bit the way they explain it.

naw, the +30 is for any AT that's not a stalker, Brute, or dom.

nvm, apparently I fell under the confusion too......I think it is for all. The +special is AT-specific.

Well let's see, Call to Justice is +40% damage, +10% to hit for the whole team for 30 seconds, and Frenzy varies, but let's call it at it's weakest, which is the generic +60% damage, +30% recharge for 20 seconds. How are either of those negligible?

And 6 minutes isn't bad at all for a totally free permanent temp power.

As far as with Dominators, Call to Justice isn't bad at all, since you're missing Build Up and everything. Frenzy is awesome. I would just have to say for Dominators the Rogue/Vigilante powers are kind of worthless. Most Dominators will have enough control that they won't have much use for those by the time they hit level 20.

@Gilia1
I play heroes on Champion.
I play villains on Virtue.

Thanks for clearing that up...b/c when I first read the description of Frenzy I said to myself "whut?" lol.

Like the OP, I find that dom builds fast enough on it's own. It's easy enough to build dom before a mish (or if I've died) by using AoE's and interrupting a snipe. I'll have to time it, but I'd estimate maybe a minute or so of build up. Even then I'll only bother with that if I'm solo. Sure, that's less convenient than just popping a button for instant dom, but I don't think that makes it more useful than Call to Justice.

There is one exception I could see. If you're using Rise of the Phoenix from the Fire APP, it would be exceptionally handy to rez and be able to pop domination again immediately.

Just did a little test with my mind/energy dom, seems that the tohit in Call to Justice is boosted by Power Boost. That's a nice little bonus in my book.

Call To Justice, in my opinion, is a far better option. Even on my fire/fire character who has Embrace of Fire, an extra build-up effect is a remarkable addition. Plus, it's a team buff, which is pretty snazzy to have without having to spend extra power slots on it.

I always wondered what villains got for theirs. Thats a nice boost no matter what AT your playing. I am kinda mad cuz I moved most of my doms to hero side where its easier. I just wish they would come up with something like this for blue side now.

Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller
Legendary Sannin Ninja/Pain Mastermind
Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind
Ninja Ryukenden Kat/WP Scrapper
Hellish Thoughts Fire/PSI Dominator

Thank You Devs for Merits!!!!
