Annual Adopt a Noob Week

People wonder why Triumph is dead. For one, it's not. It's just not populated. THere are cliques of dedicated players. EVIL NOR and his group. APEX. Guys like Tam and Malkore who I think just play with everyone. Personally, I remember these guys, but it's hard for me to remember new names, and it's few and far between that I add new globals. We're so cliqueish that it's hard to get a foothold as a newb in Triumph. It also doesn't help that people who post on the forums get flamed if they have a phail idea/build/preference. There's a lot to learn about in this game. 1.5 years now, and there is a ton of stuff I don't know. Some noobs act like you're yelling at them if you try to teach them how to be effective with their toon, but that happens. Try to be more helpful if you're one of the poo heads I mentioned instead of getting frustrated.
So, if you want Triumph to be more populated, join me in Adopt a Noob Week. Go to Atlas and find a new toon with no vet badges. It may be an alt, but whatever, give it a shot. Grab your emp and stay off team while you take him to the sewer. Teach him how we used to level in the old days before AE. Don't PL him, just give him a little tour down there. Make him your little protege. Get another member onto this little chunk of electronic real estate we call home.
I'll add a noob to TW2.0 by the end of the week. I hope you all do the same.

did this recently. even got the guy in vent!

I'll do this when I'm on. I too think Triumph is dubbed "dead" but as you said it is not there is plenty of activity and events by the people and groups you have mentioned. The quiet ones like myself are always around and team as I am needed, plus a few of the above mentioned people are also global friends of mine. I'll grab a noob and show em around. Nice "idea" more servers should take example of this type of kindness. Just don't take our people, heh anywho thanks for this post.

Good job Malkore. I commend you. Lol, I got something funny to tell you in game next time I see ya.

Oh yeah, and you realize the logic behind posting on the forums saying our server is dead is just.... well, I got a message from a mod today for saying some things to Malkore, so I'll just let you think about how to finish that.
People read these posts, they won't want to come to Triumph. So please, let's keep the topic of Triumph dying off the forums. Start posting about how amazingly fun Triumph is, and we'll all be better off. You wouldn't punch yourself between the legs because you're disappointed with the way your god put you together would you? Counterproductive. Let's not do it to Triumph.

Good point Elimist, saying we're dead won't bring in more players. Helping newbies will, advertising more events and so on might help, that and possibly getting friends to start playing.

Adopt a Noob Week is brilliant!

Great post Elimist!

The friendly pantless server is not dead!

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

Sorry, the court will not allow me within 500 feet of a n00b...(or a catholic girls school but I digress)...

All kidding aside, work has been killing my play time but I might haul my anti-social butt to Atlas and give it a go when work lets up.

The Revenants and Vengeance Imperium-Triumph, Champion & now flavoring Justice!

Tanker Tuesdays & Brutal Thursdays. If you like fun, look'em up!

Shhh! Rangle is plotting.

maybe what we need is a group of people doing stuff to make triumph a well sought out server to play.

We need to do something crazy.
We need to have something with our pantless reputation... Maybe have a daily Pantless long Task Force... Or Pantless PvP (lol PeeveePee)

i dunno. somethin crazy.. adopt a n00b is a good start though.

This is a great initiative, Triumphites.

As founder of the Mentor Project, I always get a kick when I see players sharing in the same vision that experienced players looking out for newer players is a great way to retain them.

It also allows us, the "old guard", to experience the game anew through the eyes of someone who's not so jaded - creating a different type of endgame through passing on experience and knowledge.

The Mentor Project has been around since February, so I apologize for missing this thread originally. I would have offered our assistance earlier, had I noticed this thread.

As it stands, if anyone is interested in joining MP, the info can be reached using the link in my sig.

We're 132 registered mentors strong right now and partnered with Paragon Wiki (Players Guide to the Cities). If you're looking for an environment where you can find support for your own mentoring, answers to questions you're not familiar with, or like-minded people who can look after your new players in your absence, hop on in the N P C channel.

It will be an honor to meet you ingame.

Wow!

Thx for catching that, bud.

I blame lack of caffeine, sunspots, and the letter "R".

I'll fix the original too.

Hey what has R done to you? That happens to be the name of my noob!

Your noob won't stop pestering you? Well, the obvious answer: You shouldn't have taught him about /hide for just this reason. But let's not abuse that shall we? 8D

Sad news my Noob died, Seems he wanted to see Monster Island, wanted Godzilla's autograph.

Well it did not go well. The Cookie Monster was hungry and he was all out of cookies.

I did try this with a noob once, and was sorely disappointed. Noobishness aside, he was a jerk. We left him on monkey island with a blank note in a bottle and quit team to drop him back to level 5. Wonder if anyone ever found him.
