No no! Don't change anything about 40+ COT. The fact that they become wimps is payback for being overpowered in the early game LOL .. I joke but at the same time I AM serious. After dealing with Rune Mages, Force Mages, Life Mages, Spectoral Demons and the ungodly ability they have at low levels to debuff (-to hit) I take great pleasure in tormenting them above 40 when they become easier to defeat than Council.

As for the original post.. I don't mind the new Freakshow Bosses but they don't count toward the badge I need and always used to get with ease doing Sister Psyche. Now I actually have to hunt a few to earn my nice bright shiny. :-D

I haven't faced a super stunner with a character without mez protection yet, but their endurance drain is pretty nasty on its own. I could see how both their stuns and drains might make them about 1/4 as annoying as a Sapper.

As for the CoT post 40 they still pack some punch. Behemoth Overlords have a wicked aoe alpha. The ice mages -recharge toggle can be annoying. Succubus are freaking annoying with their confuse and espcially Placate, which punishes you for being softcapped (since the succubus can't hit you, you stand there like an idiot unable to affect her for a LONG time). Death mages not only make melee painful but do a pretty good amount of damage and have access to Twilight Grasp, which can floor a /regen's regeneration rate for several seconds. However, post 40 peoples builds have matured: These days even a fair number of 'squishy' are running amok with capped ranged defenses, etc. I don't think the Thorns are any weaker than they ever were (though they are indeed at their strongest in the earth thorn caster phase) - I think they're the most noticable victim of power creep.

Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."

Oh and on that note, 30-40 Crey could use a serious overhaul. Skulls are more dangerous then their scientists.
I agree, Crey need some help.

Skullz are jealous of the Hellions Girlfriends from Hell. They need a dark wielding version for themselves. (maybe a zombie mm?)

What is the most powerful "regular" boss in your opinion?

Super Stunner is extremely annoying IMO because he drains TWICE (the rez drain is the worst) and if he casts Static Field, it's also slowing you down and putting squishies to sleep.

However, I think my vote still goes to Master Illusionist. She is like the !@#$ of all. She is very hard to kill with that high regen and phase out and she casts so many annoying pets including Dark Servant and 3 Illusionists.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

You forgot one.. She also summons a Phantasm with Decoy and naturally most pets are fooled and will attack the decoy leaving you to deal with the Dark Servant and the actual Phantasm. I'd agree with you that a Master Illusionist is pretty nasty I also think Malta Zeus Titans can be pretty wicked. Between the holds, sleeps and -regen they are a pretty good challenge as well.

... where have YOU been the last 4+ years? Freak tanks and robots have always had 50% lethal resist. I remember running Boltcutter along the back wall in Bricks, hitting Whirling Sword, and seeing the numbers come up -exactly half the damage on the bosses as on the minions. And that was in 2005.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.

most longbow that are non-wardens have 20% smash/lethal res

on the wardens it varies greatly due to the many types of wardens

crey tanks have a good bit of resistance, but i dont know the numbers off hand (i would guess though that its between 20-30%)

the most powerful standard boss in my opinion would prolly be the war walker

http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Imperial...rce#War_Walker

S70 L70 F50 C50 E70 N50 P20 T20 --is the base resists of the war walker and along with that it has a lot of strong AoE and -regen powers

for a good #2 i would go with master illusionists

Yea, Super Stunners have kind of hurt freaks for me, they used to be so much fun to fight (so easy). However, I do like having a use for range fighting and Knockback.

The Honored Brute is the most powerful regular boss IMO, between powerful debuffs decent resistance and mez resist and the fact that all their attacks seem lightning fast and long range, usually 2 are able to give even my IO'd toons a scare.

Anything that makes the game more interesting is OK by me, I love the super stunners! First time I ran across one I was caught by surprise and he killed me after my toggles dropped Now that's a good mob, gotta kill him twice and his rez debuffs you some!

After seeing the Super Stunners and Tsoo's new Kinetic guy I began hoping that all the groups in game would get a new crewmember. More variety ftw.

You didn't miss the Hellions new "Girlfriend From Hell" did you? (Demon summoning MM boss)

Actually I did...

I've developed the bad habit of skipping all the story content from 1-20 and just grinding the radio until I'm in Talos so I can start the new arcs.
Since I'm mainly solo and don't turn bosses on until SO's at 22.... Yeah, missed them entirely.

The pants on the Super Stunner make him look goofy compared to the rest of the Freakshow. "Hey, I'm a player model with a few NPC parts!"

the basic crey are glass cannons. if you're soft capped or a melee type, yeah they are easy. however, they can easily floor squishies if not soft-capped. they have heavy ranged and melee and have fast recharging ranged attacks. thats without paragon protectors. no need to change the crey, outside of updating their armor graphics to be more than just white armored suits.

That auto-rez's radius is so large that it's almost impossible to get away and the worst is when he casts static field. He doesn't do a whole lot of damage but he just keeps draining and puts people to sleep.

I hate him but I enjoy him. Nice challenge to the freakshow mob.
Where do these Super freaks live? Do they all have disco balls? You know just one more of their surgical implants.

I like seeing new mobs and these would be fun.

I tend to play squishies so when I solo the hardest groups tend to be the ones with the most mez, which means Malta is right at the top and Carnies are bad in large groups (though in small groups they're not too big a threat). CoT is kind of in the middle... Ice Casters can hold and Death Mages are just annoying, but Council and Freakshow are still easier (Super Stunners are no big deal to ranged characters, especially as Lts).
