If anyone cares. CW 9p EDT. Right after new Vampire Diaries.

Sorry, Peta Wilson will always be Nikita for me.

Yeah, if they want to do a sequel to Nikita then they should have gotten Peta Wilson and as much of the rest of the cast back as they could. I'm not interested in this new version.

I'll give this show a trial run. Spy shows have gotten a good boost as of late. I wonder how this will compare to Covert Affairs....

Weird though that Burn Notice is on Hiatus till November when this is on.

I dunno, this Nikita isn't bad.

I'm sure you meant to say Anne Parillaud.

Or even Jade Leung...

However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator

How is Covert Affairs? The billboards looked unappealing to me. Is it any good?

I've been wondering about that, too. I haven't been able to catch an episode, and Hulu doesn't have the whole season up at the moment (I don't want to jump in on the middle of the series).

Covert Affairs... hmm its actually a bit like the Bourne series (no suprise since the director was part of that project) It has a good story, decent action so far, and it caught one of the key points of geek dome right away - DON'T TRUST MOHINDER. A very solid series, imho. I kind of wish that they do a cross over ep with Burn Notice (just so the female lead of CA can see that a burned spy isn't just some dude who is untrustworthy by virtue of leaving in the middle of then night, and probably learn a bit from Fiona what being in a relationship with one means). Annie is very much a Female version of Bond (she did her Tae Kwon Do instructor at the "Farm" for crying out loud)

I have my DVR set to record it. I've enjoyed all the other past versions of Nikita played Anne Parillaud, Bridget Fonda, and Peta Wilson, and I'm looking forward Maggie Q's portrayal.

Let's see.... Another glamor filled 'pretty people with problems' series with a slight twist?
And you say it's a CW program? You must be kidding.

No thanks. This is not my Nikita.

Apparently the tattoo is hers, not just put on for the show.

I vaguely remember her from her Hong Kong Jackie Chan movie days.

Vaguely remember her? Maggie Q was friggin' awesome on Live Free or Die Hard!

See, my first introduction to the "Nikita" storyline was Point of No Return... which was written by Luc Besson (the writer/director of the original La Femme Nikita). Looking at pics from both films, it seems that the "Nikita" character is purposely cast as a very slender & petite young woman... The slender, unimposing physicality belies the lethal assassin and her iron will to survive.

I enjoyed the TV series with Peta Wilson, but the trailers for the latest rendition of the story didn't appeal to me.

As for Covert Affairs, I've been pleasantly surprised with it.

So after watching it.. DIGGING it so far, especially the twist at the end of the ep... seriously, didn't expect that.

Nikita was far better than I expected. Dispensing with showing her origin story while setting up the story arc for similar characters was a great idea. I also REALLY liked the fact that the other characters are smart and do things logically. Unlike crap shows such as Alias where plots turn on people being idiots, Nikita has the feeling of hardcore, intelligent people trying to achieve different aims.

Speaking of the Die Hard franchise, Nikita and Michael playing off one another rather reminded me of John McClane and Hans Gruber matching wits in the original film. Both smart, driven professionals trying to outdo the other.
