Going Rogue comic book ad

I was pleasantly surprised and happy to see a full page ad for GR in the DC comic I picked up today. Surprised that it was in a DC book while they are also advertising for their own DCUO game and happy because it is a natural place to advertise CoX.

If you have a scanner would you be able to share it with us? The ad that is, not the comic book.

Sorry, I don't have a scanner. Hopefully someone else will step up.

Same ad in my marvel and DC titles. Very nice to see. Might be able to get a scan done when I get home from work in about 6 hours.

It seemed like there was a GR ad in every single comic book I got last week! Here's one of them:

That is great! Happy to hear that Going Rogue has print ads, let alone in comic books. Woot!

Also noticed some adds on various game related sites in banners and boxes.

And MMORPG.com is currently hosting a GR sweepstakes with the top prize being a 5870 card and input on naming an NPC in GR. Many other good prizes over there. Has center placement currently on their homepage.

Finally some visible marketing presence for the game!

I think this is awesome, and definitely deserves even more advertising reach!

The Maelstrom one was in all my DC books, so I'm guessing you're right, that's the DC one. I don't read Marvel...

Desdemona needs more hot booty.

Maelstrom's eyes look like he's had enough caffeine that he could get bit by a rattlesnake and not notice for three days.

She's cut down on the Booty since the last time a Pirate tried to pillage it.

Interestingly enough my DC book, Legion of Super-heroes had the Desdemona ad.

It's called City of Heroes and has two out of three images down below showing people in superhero tights, one with a cape, and flying.

If they can't figure it out, they should be in a special ed. class, not playing an MMO.

I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.

Making people work to figure out things isn't good marketing. The oversized main pictures don't scream supers genre.

And it still doesn't address the lack of explaining this is an MMORPG.

There are some very popular commercials that are notorious in the marketing world in that people who remember the commercial can't remember what was being advertised.

It's as simple as:

"For six years City of Heroes has been the most popular and widely acclaimed MMORPG of super powered heroes and villains."

If only this ad was printed on something they would have in their house with a website url on it. Then we wouldn't have to worry about them seeing it in passing and not remembering they wanted ot check it out.

Not to mention his spazzoid haircut. Everytime I've seen him ingame I laugh at his oh so sad haircut....hard to be taken seriously when you look like you just rolled out of bed and into your supersuit.

Bit off topic, but the third screenshot in each ad, the one with the blue hero... is that costume pattern available in-game? I can't seem to find it.

EDIT: I just realized that's Neuron... never mind!
