I can't play any Blaster that isn't Energy

The mitigation from Knockback is just too good. Anything else feels too squishy. So there.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Thanks for sharing.

PS. Betcha you've faceplanted maaaany times when knockback didn't kick as you expected it to.

So why haven't you gotten Castle to fix the damage on power push yet?

Be well, people of CoH.

Blaster: .13 smashing, .13 energy

Every blaster set except for Rad and Fire have an extremely low damage single target control power. Fire, of course, has none at all and Rad's control is also it's big hitter.

It would be interesting if all the blaster single target controls got the Clobber/Cosmic Burst treatment. Tesla Cage would be much more awesome if it also did decent damage.

Imagining Freeze Ray dealing scale 1.2 damage...

Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.

Freeze Ray and Bitter Freeze Ray are holds though, aren't they? I have no idea how holds are supposed to affect a power's damage value.

KB, on the other hand, doesn't appear to affect a power's damage value. Granted, I haven't looked at this too closely, it was just something that jumped out at me while I was playing my grav/ene dom.

Controls of all kinds have frequently affected a power's damage value. Clobber and Cobra Strike for example. Even Knockout Blow originally had no/low damage, IIRC. Repulsing Torrent, from a brand new set, even has lower damage than it should by the formula; I have to believe that is because of the knockback.

Clobber is currently doing the correct amount of damage for its recharge value as per CoD. KO Blow, on the other hand, is not. But KO Blow is a hold where Clobber is a stun. I've no clue what's going on with repulsing torrent.

My first blueside 50 was Agent Sharpe (Justice), an nrg/nrg blaster, and no, contrary to some other posters' comments, I didn't faceplant a lot, either solo or grouped. As with any AT, it's about managing the aggro you can survive. Given that Sharpe was born in the era of lolDefiance 1, this was particulary true, but I've played him much the same even since the advent of Defiance 2. He's still an absolute *ahem* blast to play.

That being said, I also have a fire/fire in the upper 20s that has his own style of mitigation: reducing everyone in the mob to huddled, smoking heaps. Rapidly.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

Im looking at and Elec/Enegry Dom myself.... very interesting ESPECIALLY with the new Primal Forces APP... mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm good...

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

Same here as my only planned Praetorian at this time.

Energy Blast rocks my socks - I love the nebulous mitigation of knockback.

Four Defenders and two Corruptors so far, I should really try it on a Blaster one day soon.

Yeah, you need to feel the love of throwing a lot of melee stun in with your knockback.

You know, frankly I don't want them to fix Power Push, because it looks stupid. I'd rather they buff the damage on Power Burst to make up for its long animation.

The randomness of the knockback is sheer frustration to me. When I need it, it doesn't work. When I don't, enemy goes flying.

And Power Push definitely needs to do real damage.

There's your problem right there. You always want knockback. ALWAYS.
