With Green Lantern now completed and Deadpool on its way, Mr. Ryan Johansson has his plate full with new and upcoming projects. Looks as if Ryan is going to be filling his house up with even more comic books as Dark Horse's R.I.P.D. is on the fast track to feature filming.

LA Times has the newsie news:

The Dark Horse comic R.I.P.D. would seem like perfect movie fodder: It's popular, it involves juicy crimes and concerns people long dead who are still able to dole out justice. Oh, and Ryan Reynolds, he of rapidly growing fanboy credibility, is attached to star in it.

Universal, which has a deal with the publisher, thinks it's a good idea too, and has been trying fervently to get the movie going. The film, whose title stands for Rest In Peace Department, centers on two dead cops with dark secrets who patrol the underworld.

Click HERE to read the rest, including talk of who might direct it.
Anyone read this? Is it any good? Maybe I'll check it out if I go to the comic book store tomorrow.

Sheesh. At this rate Ryan is going to become the unofficial 'king' of comic book movies. He's playing almost one character for every comic company out there lol

Too bad he was lousy in Blade: Trinity, but then the whole movie was lousy.

I hear he is the front runner to play Wonder Woman too. I think it is a rumor, I hope.

He stole every scene in that movie, sir. And in a good way.

I thought this was going to be an adaptation of that police force villain group found in the Rogue Islands!

You know what? I think Ryan Reynolds was actually a recluse geeky nerd stuck in a small town in Canada that fell upon a magical wish-granting object. He's pretty much doing everything I would do if i woke up Ryan Reynolds.

...that includes Scarlet Johannsen.

Intriguing thought.

I'd hate to say it but yeah you guys are right. Blade: Trinity was just HORRIBLE however the only tolerable scenes were with Reynolds. However even with him yucking it up it was still kind of hard to stomach. Especially when one of the main 'baddies' (Parker Posey) looks like she came out of a Flock of Seagulls video.

Blade: Trinity really wasn't all that bad. The action was good, but it could have done better with a more emotionally involved Wesley Snipes and an actor with more on-screen presence as Dracula.

Also, Parker Posey was every bit as terrific as Ryan Reynolds.

I was okay with Trinity but I think that was because:
Reynolds was funny.
I think what's her name is cute (actress who played Whistler's daughter)
I thought her bow was very cool.

total kick to the gut

Honestly, Blade Trinity suffered because it was a Blade movie. If they just took out Blade and made it a Nightstalkers movie like it should have been, expanded the roles of all the target fodder minions like Patton Oswalt's character, and let Reynolds shine it would have been great.

I liked Posey in her role and even HHH was great in it. It was the Dracula/Blade stuff that sucked and dragged the entire movie down.

28 Days Later was NOT a romantic movie.

*shudders in memory of some of the scenes.*

Whenever I get up to go to the bathroom, I recall the scene where the infected burst through his window as he was watching the movie.

Hm, I really can't argue with that. Snipes clearly didn't want to do the movie and later reports was that the script was shoved on him at the last minute and he wasn't happy with it. Also that was one weak choice for Dracula. Most disappointing.

Pfft, that was foreplay.

The only movie my fiance almost walked out on. The tunnel scene. I don't blame her there. For me it was the new Dawn of the Dead. The opening sequence where everything went nuts in her house, in particular her niece. Children in those roles scare the living heck out of me.

edit: And is this not about Ryan Reynolds/ RIPD?

Has anyone read RIPD? The cover looks kind of cartoonish.
