One Season Wonder Voting Round One: Comedy
Wow, these are terribly hard.
1. The Oblongs - very tough call. The Oblongs was so... bizarre and hilarious.
2. The Honeymooners - I cannot believe that was a one season show!!
3. Archer - Don't know the Unusuals.
4. Police Squad! - Don't know Dead.
5. Clerks. Don't know either one.
6. Clone High. The Tick is one of my favorites, but Clone High is masterful, and it carried a story more... better...er. But I hate you for making me choose.
7. The Hichhiker's Guide. Never seen either one, but I love the book version of HHGTTG.
8. That's My Bush - Don't know Freaks, though I've heard of it...
Arc #6015 - Coming Unglued
"A good n00b-sauce is based on a good n00b-roux." - The Masque
Hey dont hate me for the match ups, hate random.org. All I did was make sure no one's picks were agaisnt each other. Also, there is still time to vote in the animation round of this draft.
Shadowy Presence - Absolutely, positively worse than playing a Kheldian... --Myrmydon
Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me both had a second season. FYI.
I don't exactly like this genre split thing.
Some shows are shoehorned in (Freaks and Geeks) and some belong in other categories but were moved for space (Archer). In my mind, that latter problem would've completely outweighed any benefits of this idea. If the field splits evenly into four categories, fine. If it doesn't, who decides what stays in the category and what gets pushed? For the sake of fairness, such arbitrary decisions are better left to random chance.
Worst of all (for me), three of my choices are in this category which really reduces my chances of getting a show to the final four. If I'd known we were splitting them up like this I'd have picked one show for each category, just saying.
EDIT: Oh yeah, my voting:
1. The Oblongs
2. Better Off Ted - Brilliant, kooky and funny. Given time it could've been the new Scrubs, but they canned it instead.
3. The Unusuals
4. Police Squad!
5. Clerks
6. The Tick
7. Andy Richter Controls The Universe - This, also, could've been a strong alternative to Scrubs.
8. Freaks and Geeks
Pushing Daisies
Better Off Ted
Archer
Police Squad!
Clerks the Animated Series
The Tick
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Freaks and Geeks
1. Pushing Daisies - I love me some Chuck and Pie-Man
2. Better Of Ted - Haven't watched it yet, but it's in my Netflix queue. Being from the northeast, NYE Honeymooner marathons have turned me against it.
3. Archer - Daaaaanger zone! One of the best shows on TV today.
4. Dead Like Me - I was surprised how much this show engrossed me on Netflix. I even went out and bought the entire series on a whim.
5. Clerks - Because there was this big bee out near Undergrads
6. The Tick - I have to vote against my own pick here, if only for Bat Manuel
7. Andy Ricter Controls The Universe - I remember liking this when it was on briefly and will probably rent the entire series someday
8. That's My Bush - But only because I am so strongly anti-Apatow that I will never watch Freak and Geeks

It can be up to 33 episodes, or two seasons if it doesn't exceed the episode limit.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

edit also my votes do not count unless there is a tie.

Since I am taking over I would like to get everyone's feeling about keeping the groups. IE, keeping animation together all the way to final four or after the prelims here I toss it all in the blender and do my damnest to make sure no one has their picks go against each other.

If not, I'll survive. Just consider my previous post as suggestions for the next draft.
I think keeping the shows in categories for voting makes the most sense. I'd rather compare shows that had something in common besides being short-lived.
At this point, there's no sense in doing it differently since we've already had one section of voting.

The Honeymooners
The Unusuals
Police Squad!
Clerks the Animated Series
The Tick
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Freaks and Geeks
Since we've started this way, we kinda need to keep going. While it would have been nice to know ahead of time, in case people would want to spread out their picks, it's already done, and none of us knew, so we're all in the same boat.

4) Dead Like Me Police Squad is in every draft!
5) Clerks the Animated Series Well that was easy.
6) The Tick on principle
7) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy because I'm a jerk. A complete kneebiter.

How does having three choices in one group lessen your chances? Unless your lament is more about picking personal favorites vs picking something others would vote on. If anything you've got more of a chance in this category than anyone else.

As I said yesterday, I'm okay with whatever folks feel best for the rest of the draft. I just wanted to voice my concerns about this setup, I'm not going to pester.
Pushing Daisies - Never saw the Oblongs, but I loved Pushing Daisies, so...
The Honeymooners - Probably an unfair match-up, but I gotta give props to Gleason.
Archer - Best Animated Show Ever
Police Squad! - Never thought I'd vote down Dead Like me, but Police Squad! was a classic.
Clerks the Animated Series - Flipped a coin on this one.
The Tick - Another coin toss.
Andy Richter Controls The Universe - For me, HGttG was hurt by the fact that the book was so good.
Freaks and Geeks - Should win every prize ever invented based soley on Linda Cardellini's beautiful smile, but was also an incredible show.
