What happened to hero side in this game?

I am a 36 months vet player and its been a year or so since the last time I played blue side.
My four last characters were villains, I rather villains powers but I prefer blue side missions.
But today I created a new alt, scrapper elec/elec and something looks very wrong for me. I was playing with another friend, doing Kings Row radio missions at lvl 6 to get the temp fly power and we dying a lot, I didnt change the difficult, and 3 damn minions kick our *****...
Are powers weak? Mobs overpowered? I dont know, but I didnt remember the game being this tedius or boring. Is going to be a hell to lvl up to 21...
I know I should get a team, but Union (EU server) lacks population.
Now Im not so sure if I should wait for GR
Advice?

Advice? hmmm forget about your vet rewards move to the north american servers and start playing on freedom or virtue where there is always teams and the streets are never bare not even at 2AM. Tell your friend to join you.

Over time, the enemy AI has changed, as well as the way the difficulty settings work. If you are having trouble, I'd recommend visiting the Field Analyst and lowering your settings a little and see what you can handle.

On a side note, I noticed you are using an elec/elec scrapper. Now I have not used one personally myself, so I'm just going off speculation here, but I don't see that as being a very powerful combination, at least not at a low level. I can't be sure without looking at specific numbers. Maybe somebody else will chime in here and tell you to try a different set and see if you have the same experience, or simply team with a different character that can buff you.

You can't judge the whole game with the experience you had with one character.

I've noticed no change, but as mentioned, maybe turn the settings down? I always have my lowbies at default.

If you are already...maybe just an unlucky streak?

Or possibly you just forgot what level 6 is like?

Since i17 there will be missions where there are too many enemies, too high, or both sometimes. I dunno why. Sometimes more enemies than a normal mission in the ambushes alone as you're trying to get the NPC to the door.

It's irritating. Either take it very slow, pull, etc, or drop the mish. Though many people, even on plain ol' radio mishs will not want to drop it.

I run 0/8x on radio. I'd say 1/5 of the missions are freakout hard hard hard missions.

Difficult settings are default, I cant go under that, its too lame.
Also I have sands of mu and nemesis staff, so something must be wrong.
Hope GR address this, because at early levels I dont feel super at all, just a human with few tricks and travel powers come too late.
Should be at 6...
That is the very few things I think CO does better. Make u feel more super at early stages.

You don't want to set your difficulty lower because "it's too lame", yet you cannot survive your current settings.
What's more important, having fun and not dying all the time, or what other people might think of you if they even care enough to check your settings?

get the ninja pack. you get a halfway decent travel power at lv 4. ninja run. and if you and a friend are having trouble with the missions, either you are doing something wrong or you might want to turn the diff down until a later time.

Maybe it's your playing style because you are just too used to red side. When I start off a scrapper I immediately up my difficulty because I know that I will be able to blast through large mobs without having to worry about endurance. Admittedly I haven't tried an electric scrapper because the power set just doesn't appeal to me but I don't have a problem with any of the others I've tried.

Brutes on the other hand I have much more trouble keeping alive so I have to play more cautiously.

I think it's more a concern that what's happening to him isn't normal. The game's balanced around the default setting. He shouldn't be having problems there, especially with vet powers.

Try a different kind of character. In my opinion, the electric armor set is a little weak, and a resistance-based set relies on healing. Elec armor trades some survival for a damage aura and a great endurance recovery power. Other scrappers have more survival ability.

Want greater survivability? Try an Illusion/Radiation controller following my guide. If you stand back and Deceive two foes, then take down the third with Blind-Spectral Wounds, you can defeat foes without taking any damage at all. It may not be fast, but it is safe. -- and you can't play one Red side (at least, not yet).

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Ah, a fellow Unionite!

Regarding game difficulty - other people have given far better advice than I ever will, so I won't touch on that at all.

One thing you mentioned, though, was struggling to find a team on good ol' Onion. Have no fear! If you have not already done so, may I suggest the wonderful global chat channel "sals badgehunters"? Despite the name, it isn't solely focused on badgewhor- umm hunting, though that is certainly the primary focus. It is a great place to make and join teams on Union, so it might be worth your while using /chan_join sals badgehunters and asking if anyone would like a couple of lowbie toons who are up for a good time kicking criminals.

I also have ninja run.
I cant forget my 36 months veteran, my alts and my 3 boosters pack can buy another north american account.
Hope they do something with the EU servers soon.
Port our accounts to the North american servers or something.
The thing is I should be able to solo as scrapper, I mean, Im not new...
Will try to run an arc in Hollows... This is irritating

I've largely soloed my newish Claws/WP Scrapper to 25, even taking out Protean (as an EB). I think it's more so that elec/elec is just weak in the low levels (I hate my elec/elec brute, without Lightning Rod elec/ is rather subpar, and /elec isn't incredibly survivable).

So maybe I got the wrong powersets. I love Lighting rod, but maybe one power is not enough for getting this suffer, lol.

What powers did you take?

I just rolled an elec/elec scrapper at lunch with an account at 33 months (nem staff and sands of mu). Set the diff to x2/+0 to similate 2 people. Street swept to 5, grabbed my radio, did my 3 radio missions and got the safeguard.

Entered safeguard. Defeated 2 hellion minons and lt. in path. Turned corned and defeated 2 hellions in path. Entered bank. Used staff to pull vahz lt to me. Finished him. Popped a red, yellow and purple. Hit the 3 minions. Finished them. Ran to whichever villain and lt. were busting the vault. Beat them. Got pack. Without any assistance which your teammate would have provided.

So I got to wondering if you were building him like a brute or doing something odd.

For example did you take Jacob's ladder, Havoc Punch and Build Up at level 6?

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Electric Armor is notoriously weak versus Smashing/Lethal, and only the Tier 9 grants any Toxic resistance. Grabbing Tough will help, and slotting some IO's sets for positional defense will help you immensely too.
The enemy group you'll be near invincible against are Clockwork. You're built to resist electric attacks.

Once you get to 35, Power Sink can knockout enemies Endurance(especially when combined with Lightning Field slotted to End Drain).

The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

Well from experience, I have an Ele/Ele scrapper lvl 38(I think). I do really like this toon... but compared to my regen... he's squishy. I think with IO's (sets) that might get better? But you should get Energize once it's open. That will help you emensely.

P.S. Get Lightening Rod also!

"every defender needs to fight. I don't care if you have to use BRAWL!"

Union still has a fair few people, we tend to mostly be on 1 or all of 3 main channels:

Sals Badgehunters
Union TaskForce
Union Chat

I'd highly recommend joining at least Sals if not all 3. We team up for tfs, badge hunts, regular mishes and it's a good way of getting to know peeps if your global list is a little.... bare shall we say?

Also make a lot of use of the /search function. You might find yourself a team there

If you need any help or advice ingame throw me a tell on @Nightshade i'm on quite a lot
