yah, even a 17" laptop has enough room for all windows at once (still rawking the XP)

I think you misunderstand what i said. in the commercials for windows 7, they showed how you can have 2 windows sidebyside with a simple click of any 2 windows, without the need to resize them to fit onto the screen like in previous windows. thus you can see them the same size equally which makes things alot easier than having multiple windows open and click on each window seperately.

or by having to constantly adjust window sizes to try and duplicate what is already part of windows 7.

How giveaways/contests are a no-win for NC/PS:

1. Give away at Herocon. "I can't go there!"
2. Give away codes. "I can't type fast."
3. Costume contest. "I suck at making costumes."
4. Graffiti contest. "Only for the art folks."
5. Movie contest. "Only for those with video skill."
6. "Just give it to random forumites" - "They're playing favourites.
7. Screenshot contest. "My video isn't good enough, of course I'd lose!"
8. Do nothing. "NC does nothing to promote the game!"

Add "it's not fair" to any of those.

Alternately... relax, enjoy, good luck, congrats if you get it, oh well if you don't. I know which approach I'm taking.

Oh, those poor Win7 souls... can only have two windows open side by side... Yes, I know, this is not actually the case, but you're making it sound like having two automagically resized windows side by side means anything special. You don't need any particular shape or size of window in order to do this. My windows are actually kind of messy and work just fine. I've got two on the left (General forums, Facebook) and two on the right (Twitter, NCsoft account). Win7's snap windows doesn't automatically resize four windows, so it means *nothing* in this instance.

Technically I have a fifth and sixth window open as well, my "normal use" browser window (that has multiple tabs open in the one window) at about half-width (maximized is way too big on my 23" screen), and my City game running full screen in the background. Both of these get minimized though, when codes are afoot.

20 dollar bill principle applies. Some people will complain about anything.

However, as I suggested before:

Somebody might complain that it's 'playing favorites' but they'd be so obviously wrong that there would be nobody listening to them. It's probably the technique that will generate the least of such, and the most fairness.

You can actually do it automatically in most windows programs. Open up task manager with only the windows you want open. There's an option to "tile" them there.

That's been possible since Windows 3.1 or even before that. Tile vertically?

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

No "tile" option in my task manager.

edit: nevermind, I found it. Hey! That's awesome.

edit2: just to note, it doesn't work the way you say it. You have to ctrl+click to highlight the programs in the "Applications" list, selecting which ones you want to tile, THEN tile them from the Windows file menu within Task Manager.

Hmm. Maybe it was removed after 98, ME or 2000. I do remember it being there in 98 (when every window had a "Windows" menu with the option.)

heh, I'm pretty positive I won't get a code. I won't get mad. it would be cool yes, but with my internet being slow as hell and my typing skills not so great, I can pretty much guarentee that I won't get one

but I can say I will get the pack regardless even if it means I must shell out a few dollars for it

but i enjoy my xp...
still 98 was cool to me.

aside from all that, yes that snap thing... if i can do that.. the way it's shown in the commercial with xp.. that would be great.

Heh. I'll be honest, I'm randomly refreshing. (I sound like a strange soda commercial or something there.) I'm at work, and checking in on them when it's slow. The list was more a general observation.

My only gripe when it comes to the packs - or much else - is that we still can't gift them, just apply to our own accounts. If they followed Chaos's idea above and I got one, I'd end up giving it to a friend of mine who's a bit busy with a one-year(and change)-old, but would still love it.

Oh, I hear where youre coming from and definately agree. I really don't get mad at much, and even for the people that dodn't get the codes, well it's not like it really cost us anything anyway

I agree here, I have two or three friends I'd love to buy this for, but I'd have to have access to their account and that's an awkward situation at best, let alone making it a surprise all but impossible.
