There's a few but I'm blanking on their names at the moment.
Most RPSGs seem to be more theme-based, like an SG of secret agent types or another of only mutants or teenagers.
We're pretty generic, and I suppose more or less modern age, in that we're certainly not gold or silver age. You can look up the details (some of them, anyway) on the VV page.

I was once ambushed by a SG of dragon RPers and invited to join their ranks.
The Protagonists are another good group in that vein, though I can second the Sentry because they're coalies with the group my highest-levelled character is in. :P

The Global Defenders are JLA/Avengers inspired, complete with a space station base. Pretty new to the group, but enjoying the rp so far. They've got a post in the SG recruitment thread that has more info.

There's also Guardian Force (now in it's 6th year), which is a modern-ish JLA-style superhero group. Thursday nights are "GF Night", in which folks know to gather and usually someone has created a multi-week plot using the Mission Architect.

I think what Aggie is more asking for groups that won't be scared away from a VG of hardcore masterminds, mad scientists, and future world conquerors. Most SGs tend to not like playing with us because we are 'too into the villain thing'. If that makes sense :$
