Are you storing in email

I do not store long term in email.

I do keep a couple new toon starter inf emails up (couple mill) but never more than a few days to a couple weeks.

Well thats great.

Guess I can kiss that 3 million I'd banked goodbye.
Should've known a personal bank was too good to be true. I'll just use it as a transfer system from now on I suppose.

Forward it to yourself to reset?

[edited to add that other e in reset. it said rest]

Yeah, when issue 17 launched I played around with it a bit. Logged on my 50 and emailed 12 million to myself.

I claimed it on a new toon, then 'deposited' 6 million.
Few days later I was playing an Alt. Went to buy some enhancements and came up short so I claimed it and then 'deposited' 3 million.

I haven't been on in nearly 3 weeks and the email was sent about a week before that...

Eeep, I had a few start up packets lodged on Villains for any alts I create. Better check they're still there.

Nah, I hate seeing that red "e-mail" button; reminds me of when we'd get spammed every day. I've used it to mail goodies to my alts while keeping my base storage locked tight and to distribute my inf around when one of my toons gets too close to cap, but that's about it.

I think the reason this most surprised me is that they just did away with the market purge on active accounts.

One small sentence in the patch notes would have prevented the whole kerfuffle.

After losing some stuff the first day (GM's returned it to me after a week of
research - tyvm!), I'm reminded not to trust their code... I use it for transfers
only, and I claim them as quickly as possible.

The only "long-term" stuff stored there is an awaken inspie -- if that gets
deleted, I'm out 11 inf... I can live with *that* risk...

Holy crap that's a great idea, never be without an awaken again! Just store a couple of them in your email, then it doesn't matter what toon you're playing and keep your other slots for good stuff...

Is there a restriction on claiming items from emails when you're dead or in a mission?

I received an offer to replace the salvage I lost. Not back to email but to be placed on a toon.

There are two restrictions (the 30 day bruhaha notwithstanding).

1> You have to be the same faction... So, I have two awaken inspies in e:mail;
1 Hero, 1 Villain.

2> You need to have an open inspiration slot in your tray to claim the e:mail.

I'm going to have to check. I think I just had some grenade recipes mailed to myself heroside. They've probably been swallowed by now. There might have been a recovery serum or kinetic dampener in there too..

>grunt!< no big deal if they have, I guess. These things havent been half as rare as I thought they might.

Pull it and then re-email it. That will buy you and extra 30 days to buy my stuff on the BM

They should just email the inf to you so the 10% fee isn't lost.

The Devs never seem to understand how players use the systems they create.

To be fair, they clearly expected us to use email as storage but never told us it would expire so the two are different. If not they wouldn't have the purge in place only for storing our own emails to ourselves.

I don't think I've used email to send myself anything since a few days after I17 launched (I just wanted to transfer some inf and enhancements around, and that was that). Even when I do I usually claim it soon so it's not a big deal for me. I can certainly sympathize with those who have lost stuff, though.
