I'm gonna try to jump on, I've got a network to reconfigure at someone's house after work, but I'll try to cut it short and be there on time

Those are really cool, I'd love to see more pics!
Just a suggestion though, seems like a good way to send you the costume would be to just save it at the tailor's and then you could load it up and look at it to your heart's content
Just seems more efficient to me than screenshots. -

I'll try to be there today, been a week or two since I did a WST, but currently my power is down at home due to the storms
Hopefully it'll be back up by the time I get off work... -
Well I figured it out, and it was a stupid mistake on my part. The path you gave me helped me figure it out, Kitsune Knight. When I went and looked at that path, it was not there. After poking around it turns out that on my new machine City of Heroes is installed under the launcher's folder "C:/Program Files/NCsoft/City of Heroes" instead of just "C:/Program Files/City of Heroes" like on my old install.
The reason this was so confusing to me was I copied my old install over hoping to avoid downloading and patching 5 or 6 gigs or whatever it is. Of course the installer insisted on not seeing the folder I copied over, since I copied it to the old location. This annoyed me too, but now I see what I did wrong.
Copying playernotes.txt to the /NCSoft/City of Heroes/USERNAME/ folder worked perfectly.
Thanks for the help! -
Quote:That may very well be the issue, I am running Win7. I'll have to check when I get home tonight.Make sure that file isn't being overriden by a file in your account's "VirtualStore", which is in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore, and then under that path as if you were looking at the root of the C drive.
Data is written to the VirtualStore, when a non-elevated program attempts to write to directories it doesn't have access to, and is running under UAC emulation.
Thanks! -
I don't just PLAY on Protector, I LIVE there
I guess it's not that big of a deal, but it annoys me that it looks like it should be a simple text file, and replacing it isn't working. I can't figure out where the new ratings are coming from, it's like it can't read the file I copied in there, or it's ignoring it for some reason... -

I just did a new install of CoH on a new hard drive, and wanted to import my player notes file from my previous install so I don't lose all the notes I've made over the last year or two.
I located the file on my old hard drive under my account folder, playernotes.txt I believe, and copied it over the file on my new hard drive, but when I start up CoH I still don't have all my old ratings back.
Anyone have any idea what would cause this or what I'm doing wrong? -

From my reading that was the conclusion I was most confident in, but I wanted to ask for confirmation. Everything you said matched up with what I read on the wiki, so I think that answers the question, but anyone with anything to add please do!

After looking through the forums and ParagonWiki I'm not confident that I can find an up-to-date description of how set bonuses work now that there have been some changes to the way exemplaring works.
I am about to do a respec and I want to know how low my invention sets have to be if I want to be able to do a Citadel (at lvl 30) and still keep all my bonuses.
In the past I shot for lvl 33 so that at lvl 30 I would keep all my bonuses, but now I'm vaguely aware that you get some sort of 5 level buffer that allows you to actually have lvl 35 powers at 30, just scaled down to lvl 30 effectiveness. Is this correct?
Does this mean that at lvl 30 I will get bonuses from level 35 or even 38 IO sets? Or does the same 3 level from what you're displaying at still apply? -
If you are trying to imply that the person in this case who accidentally bid 800 million instead of (presumably) 80 million was not swimming in inf... well I'm not sure I agree with you there. 800 million is a lot to me and this person had it available on that single toon when that bid was placed...
Is 800 million a lot now or does everyone have that much? I haven't been keeping up with inflation I guess... -
Holy crap that's a great idea, never be without an awaken again! Just store a couple of them in your email, then it doesn't matter what toon you're playing and keep your other slots for good stuff...
Is there a restriction on claiming items from emails when you're dead or in a mission? -
I'm Bill Obo, when can I pick up my IO and/or cash?

Quote:That's about what I figured, and in that case I agree that Invis would be against the spirit of the experiment. The main goal aside from having some fun is to see if using no travel powers and in my mind that includes SB and IR you can actually fight your way past the monsters and make it through the whole trial in the time allowed.
Thanks for the info too, StarGeek. I figured there would be restrictions, although I hadn't looked into it. That does mean though, that SB would still give its recovery bonus, so it wouldn't be totally useless. Plus, FS and TF are always good for speeding things up.
I'm not sure I ever even noticed that there was a time limit on Eden, but after looking at the paragon wiki entry, even with carving a path through the mobs, I don't see that 4 hours isn't do-able... -
I would love to try this, but I'm curious, what is the main goal? Is to to simply run it with the "No Travel Powers" restriction, or is it to actually fight all those monsters?
I don't think I've ever tried it, but does IR work with no travel powers enabled? I'm pretty sure SB does...
Anyway, I can bring my Grav/Kin, or I've got a Rad Def who might be nice... -
Sounds like fun, haven't done a hami raid in a long time, I'll try and be there

Quote:How can you tell what core the card has? Is it in the advanced graphics settings somewhere?A note to all Nvidia 8800 owners. Do not weep! If your 8800 card has the N92 core, then this card is IDENTICAL to the 9800 range (which are nothing but renamed 8800's), and thus you will be able to run Ultra Mode (though apparently in reduced quality settings).
I've got an 8800 GTS, but I can't find anything but the core speed in the specs:

Quote:Reading this thread is making me laugh. A bunch of people asking if a $400+ video card such as the GTX285 would be enough to play GR at max settings. I'm pretty sure if you have a card that's able to play Crysis at max settings you'll be fine. -
I've never done a red-side hami raid, is it the same as the hero one?
-
So do you guys just get these together through the channel or do you set times? Because I've got a couple buffer/debuffers that I wouldn't mind bringing, but the only toon I really care about getting the badge on is my Tank, which seems to be the quickest spot to fill on most teams :/

Yes it is. Though, i have been in a KHTF that only took 16 minutes. (That was defeating all 10 Mary's...)
With an experienced crew and Ambrosia from the start, it can be done.

Just out of curiosity, what was your team build on the Katie Hannon run? I've run it before with a good team but I've never quite been able to break the 30 min mark. -
Ah I see, so it's a Trial/TF hybrid of some sort... well that does make it quite a nice reward, but even if the hole in the wall isn't fixed, is it really possible to kill 200 DE, the Rock Wall and the Titan in 20 mins?

17 minutes for a trial - and you get a rare recipe like LOTG or Numinas ++ from it....
Yet many of you complain that the risk vs reward is not fair.. your right, the way "Speeden" Trial is run, you should only get an SO.
[/ QUOTE ]
Someone mentioned that the geometry bug has been fixed, I can't say from experience that it is since the last time I ran this trial it was still there, but what I really wanted to point out is that since this is a Trial it should give you the option of choosing a random recipe from Pool D (http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Recipe_Drop_Pools) which does include both a LotG and a Numina's, but they're the triples, not the procs.
I've heard that the drop pools are buggy, and drops don't always behave as they should, but according to my understanding Eden should never drop a Numina +Recovery/+Regen or a LotG +7.5% Recharge/Def.
If this is not the case, please point me to the details -
A friend of mine gave me a file similar to this, and I've been using it for a while now. It works pretty well, but for some reason it leaves some out every once in a while.
