Prices for base rent

All I know is that My base went from the minimum plot size to being a fully functional base with Porters to all zones Blue side, Super Computer, Auto Doc, Mission Computer, 2 enhancment tables, 1 inspire collector and 14 salavage racks, vault, Pillar of Ice and Flame and is fully decorated and stock in about 5 months with just 3 people playing on a semi-regular basis. Just wasn't that much of a chore.

But if it really bothers you do some marketing, earn a few billion and turn Inf into prestige and you can make the base of your dreams!

Good. Doing anything to encourage uber guilds is a bad idea.

Of course, the basic assumption of this thread is false given how absurdly cheap the rent is, but saying that it helps make guilds bigger has got to be the worst argument in favor of something that I have ever seen.

Okay, I've only read the first post so far, but had to reply. This is an obvious joke, right? Or at least a weak effort at trolling?

Haw!

I finally just parked an alt there permanently- whenever the rent is due I log him in, pay it and log back out.

A great way to have ended that would have been a question mark. They look like this — "?"

Having helped you there, please allow me to express my amusement at your question. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You think that's pricey!? That in itself is priceless.

If you aren't happy with base rent, take out your storage units. Or... you know... run in SG mode more often. You have a whole month to make the prestige, and even then, you can pay it late. In fact, I never pay it until the power goes out. It's still the same rate on-time or late.

i think its unfair that people can have a totallly finished base from old prestige now that server pop is so low its like totally impossible to build an sg.

Now its another thing that i or anyone else has to farm to.
I think it's unfair if people get to make and have everything as soon as they start playing the game. What's the point of playing the game if you didn't have to work at least a little bit for anything. You don't even have to farm prestige, just turn on SG mode in regular game play. It's that EASY!!

REALLY EASY!

This game seems unfreindly to new players. Everything is so much influ or prestige.
No, this game is entirely friendly to new players. This game is very easy to learn, you just need to leave any sense of self-entitlement at the door in order to get over yourself when you play. This, for you, may be impossible.

I run an SG just for my own toons, so I can store more salvage. It took me one month of just regular play and SG mode (and the most toons you can use to get the inf bonus) to come up with enough to power a base with full storage. And I make the rent and oodles more, ALL THE TIME! So even a player like you, Graystar Blaster, who undoubtedly has a hard time making and keeping friends in-game, can run a base with no problem. FYI, maybe the attitude of self-importance is why the servers seem empty to you. Have you gotten yourself ignored by that many people already?

Just lose the laziness.

Base rent is a pittance compared to what it was when I started playing 2 years ago. It used to be based off plot size. So prestige cost was ginormous for big bases.

It IS very little. You have to have a stupid amount of storage for rent to be more than a couple thousand prestige. And a couple thousand prestige is QUITE easy to rack up.

Also bases are very expensive to make i think its unfair that people can have a totallly finished base from old prestige now that server pop is so low its like totally impossible to build an sg.
In other words, you want to do instantaneously whats taken veterans years to build up to.

How about NO.

It's not impossible to build an SG.

I have several SGs where I'm the only member. Yet I have no problem building perfectly functional bases. I've received no prestige grants anyplace but on test.

If I can do it, so can you. No farming required.

Quote:
Now its another thing that i or anyone else has to farm to.
You don't have to farm. You just have to play. The prestige to build falls like rain from the sky. If you don't want to put effort into it, boo hoo.

Wow. A new player can't come in and, in a day, have a server full of 50's that are fully purpled out, all the badges available, and every other nice thing in the game. WAAAAAAH! Just do what the vets have done. PLAY. The Inf and prestige builds up over time. Stop expecting everything NOW.

Also base raids seem to be broken cause i tried to do one with a guy i met and it wouldnt work.
Okay, you've supposedly been around since 2007. How did you miss the fact that base raids have been disabled for 4 issues as the PVP and base systems are overhauled?

do the devs know this is messed up
Considering they turned it off in the first place? Maybe not...

Seriously, did you buy that account?

How?

Not subtracting rooms

but how do you make the plot smaller we have a secure plot. How do i make it just regular

When you're in the entry room, go to Modify Base Plot instead of Edit Base.

also will base pvp be fixt soon also got an email saying that they wont fi it or cant.
Dunno. Don't care.

so does that mean that the raid button is a waste? why is it there

negrepme
Because they intend, some day, to make bases raidable again. But they still want the base owners to be able to determine if their bases are raidable.

And before that it was a flat out tax on your group's total worth. It included prestige you had saved up but hadn't spent.

Base stuff is also far cheaper than it used to be.

Base rent is miniscule, but that's actually a problem in a weird kind of way:

Previously, you might have a rather large amount of rent to pay, which made it worthwhile to actually run to the registrar to pay it. Now the most you'll ever pay for rent is 1800 prestige, which many smaller bases won't even come close to. For example, I've got a few bases with the smallest possible plot size which simply have one enhancement bin for storing IOs which I want to email to myself on a different server. Previously I wouldn't have to pay rent on that so I could access the base at any time, but now I've got to pay 100 prestige every month or I lose access until I pay (there's no power or control so I don't have to worry about that, at least). Having to zone multiple times to get to the registrar to pay such a piddly amount of prestige is simply annoying, especially when it takes me longer to get to the registrar and pay the rent than the time I'd've spent working in my base. It's got to the point where I've just created a few lowbies and parked them by the registrars in AP and PO so I don't have to zone-hop to pay rent.

To reiterate: I don't mind having to pay rent, I just wish there was a simpler and more efficient way to do it, especially when the rent amount is so small. It's kind of like receiving a fifty-cent bill for something in the mail but you have to write out a check and mail it back because the agency doesn't have any local offices.

Mac, I'm with you on this. I also do what was mentioned above. I have an alt parked at the registrar. When rent is due, I log it in, pay it, and move on. I have one on red side and one on blue.

You can pay more than 1800. According to ParagonWiki:

Storage Items: 100x18
Auto-Doc: 100
Robo-surgery: 100x20 (possibly higher if you can have more than one medlab)
Advanced and Expert worktables: 100x4
Robotic Fabricator: 100x6 (one for each workbench)
1st tier buff station: 100x2
2nd tier buff station: 200x2
3rd tier buff station: 300x2

That's 5700 prestige, possibly more for huge Secure plots or if my quick head math sucks. Of course nobody really needs all that stuff except for decoration, and it's still pretty trivial.

If I were given an option to toss 100k prestige at the registrar to put against my base rent so I wouldn't have to pay it every few weeks I would take it in a second.

Wow, then I really need to have words with the SG Registrar. He keeps dinging my SG for 2900 prestige.

That's what, 30 seconds for log out, call it 2 minutes to log in, load screen, call up contacts, pick mission, call up contacts, complete mission, log out?

So 15 to 20 minutes to pay rent. Tops. And you don't even need to play the game to pull that off!
Shhhhh LOL I have done that before. In fact I still do with my 50s and yeah you can quickly make enough to pay your rent without actually facing a single enemy.

Hm, whoops. Thought base rent was now solely based off of the amount of storage items. I'd take a "pre-pay rent" option though.

hehe, my main toon has gained enough prestige to pay rent for the next 340 years(yup I did the math) I think maybe I'll exit SG mode now.
