Pinnacle Ladder League

Yeah, not real sure what I did, other than ask, way back, what the chance of 8 or so of the people that did this ever making a team and joining the test ladder would be. I have know 3 people that played on Pinnacle, one still does, Kara, and the other 2 stryker and sabin have both moved on to other things so I really don't get how I was ever caught up in the whole drama thing. Myself and 3 friends just wanted to come have some fun since transfers were free. The only "elitist mentality" I have seen so far is from your side. I know that if any team put up a roster thread on the PvP boards and said they were going to be joining the test ladder they would get a bunch of "Welcome to the ladder" and "Do you wanna set up a practice" replies, pretty sure they wouldn't be met with "you are not entering our ladder" posts followed by my team drops then, attitudes that the few of us have recieved. My theory has always been the more the merrier, if there are more teams it only means more matches, be it practices or official ones and if someone has the problem where they like to smack talk or w/e, who cares, it is only a game and there is always the option of ignoring them. Hell it wasnt like the team we were thinking of bringing would have been stacked with psi/em's and PvP IO's, I had transfered a rad and a fire blaster. Like I said it was to just be for fun. It's not like you win a million dollars if you are in 1st place and if your e-peen can't take a defeat in a game then.....

The notion that my team be disallowed because of a mutual drama that only one member of my team was involved in is ill-crafted at best. I'd go into why it's so illogical and hypocritical - but I'd rather not waste my time.

I think everyone knows the real reason why select figures are so against our joining this league. It has nothing to do with us being ***** or focal points for drama. It's actually pretty simple: Ego.

Some people seem to like winning rather than playing. They don't want to lose, especially not to us - especially not after all of the talk about how we're just "test server smacktards". Oh, no, losing to us could cause dangerous ego deflation to select members of the pinnacle ladder who seemingly will do anything to avoid playing us - avoid playing us at all costs - even if it means arguing that we shouldn't be be allowed to play in the ladder, refusing to fight us at all outside of the ladder, and finally, quitting said ladder when they are told that enforcing double standards isn't allowed in PvPEC sponsored events.

The truth is, we don't care. We just want to play. We are bored. That's pretty much all there is to it.

If anything, it just goes to show that there are two different types of people who partake in these ladders.

There is the majority - people just trying to have fun over the internet, seldom letting e-pride get in the way of things.

Then, there is the minority - People who PvP to give themselves an ego trip

What's all the fuss? You guys are in. Jeromus, instead of armchair quarterbacking and lurking for the chance to make negative posts about me, why not take my spot on neuronias team since they need a 4th. These test people failed at the test league so bad that they are so hard up for any pvp that they have to lower their standards to do lol 4v4 on lolpinnacle. Hey half of the teams want these people here so go ahead and have matches with them. I for one won't be participating. Since zeta posted that roster he sent me tells lying saying he barely knew the other guys on the team, they set a new record for the shortest time being unsilenced in pinnbadges, and then tried to bribe zirillion for op status so they could kick people. And they were spamming arena chat all night. They can post here and try to play all innocent and act like they just want to play and have fun but they couldn't keep up the facade for a single day. This league was intended to be fun but with peoples schedules/ it being the summer and with gr coming out, some of us feel it's not a good time for this kind of commitment. And zeta dropping n-bombs on the forums. Just wow. And to those that approve of that kind of behavior and want those kind of people here, shame on you too. So we had 7 teams in the league. 3 dropped. So you guys are in, psy said he's bringing a team so that's 6. Looks like the league is fine. Gl hf.

Oh and The whole Team Run n Shoot is officially withdrawn even though we have probably won this month finally. We want no part of this league any longer ... ... Collectively. And I am not speaking for the captain of NWS but I am sure his team is withdrawing as well.

In the interest of keeping the ladder together, how about we withdraw it from PvPEC and it can continue as is. Having like...all the teams drop isn't conducive to competition, you know? Yeah, this means that we likely won't be getting prizes for the July event.

This is especially difficult on my end, since as a PvPEC rep I have to include as many people as possible in these events (I hope this answers Blacier's question on the topic). How about we remove the PvPEC tag from the league, Omega and everyone can keep their teams...I can run a PvPEC event every month that includes everyone and is relatively non-cliquey?

Cos otherwise, the only teams are going to be NWS, TWSS, 320 and a few others... I'm not going to be continuing as captain of KGB without Funk around, who got us our other two players in the first place.

So what do you say Omega, Funk, Blacier, everyone...just let everything blow over and you can all still have fun? :/
There's no reason to go from several fights a week to zero.

What's to stop independent bodies from approaching the COH CR team & ask for prizes?

GGG challenges all teams on the ladder. We get that many of the teams aren't capable of fielding 4 on a whim - so if your team falls into that group just get in contact with me and we will work something out.

We ask that any team that does have 4 play us regardless of their ranking. We just want to play. For live contact send a tell to @Number 86.

We extend our challenges to any teams that have left the ladder or are not on the ladder - feel free to do some off-record practices with us anytime we are online.

XFunk: You can deny it all you want and I will not show proof or get a bunch of people to admit it as well you know it and so do I. The only reason YOU don't want this team to join is because you are afraid to lose to them and tarnish your #1 on pinn look. You can argue that all you want, and say you don't care about records and all this, and then you can even go on to say GGG wants to stroke their e-peen and boost their ego by coming to pinn, but look at your signature #1 this, #1 that, its clear you're way too proud of your accomplishments on this game.

Jade Forest: Zone pvp and arena pvp are different, the freedom ladder was fairly peaceful in comparison to zone, nobody was flamed for losing, no tells were sent calling people scrubs, aside from the people who out of the ladder had been trashing eachother for as long as they had known eachother, there was none of that.

This whole thing is getting way out of hand, like they have said many times, they like pvp and will go to whichever server it takes to find that. Out of pvp some of them may be trolls/elitists, but much like with the freedom ladder once the pvp starts happening they do show some sportsmanship and they are not complete a-holes to the other teams. I've read through the posts and it seems to me there really is no logical reason to ban them from the league. The fact that people are leaving because of them joining is also extremely childish and goes to show that it has nothing to do with them being elitists, some people just refuse to play pvp'ers who might actually be better than they are.

Well that sounds like something that's up to NCSoft and not the PVPEC.

The PVPEC doesn't have any REAL legitimacy does it?

It's the conduit, more or less, but is usually going to be necessary to get any form of advertisement or support of any kind to ensure that sportsmanship, to a degree is exhibited.

Hopefully, in time, those who have made the brash decision to leave upon our arrival will reconsider when they realize we're here simply to play matches.

The drama isn't necessary, so let's have some fun. PvP's more fun when you're PvPing. =P

Can people realize that there is no drama involved in playing the matches?

Taking joking out of context could conceivably create problems. Sarcasm doesn't translate well through text, and some people take things personally, and far too seriously in a game.

We just load in, play til the end of the matches, and there you have it. That's the entirety of it.

I think people should at least take a bit of a wait-and-see approach. Forum drama's a matter of interpretation, but as far as in-game conduct involving matches and whatnot, it'd be as smooth as before. We've all played in Leagues/Ladders before and aren't known, any of us, for being rude to other teams for any reason concerning PvP.

Basically, the ******** aside, let yourself have fun. Leaving won't make that happen.

I'd like to keep playing even if my team captain is dropping out or disbanding the team. I'll chat with my captain and hopefully teammates about it and if I need to I'll place myself up for recruitment.

Alright, well let's do it up, then. Zeta doesn't happen to be on at the moment, but if any of the teams challenged could state whether or not they're ready, that'd save time, which was the intention of the blanket-challenge.

We'll take anything into consideration concerning complications or inability to field the 4. Saves us for wastes of time on forfeits anyway.

Still, the open challenge to any team within the Ladder or outside still stands, and setting up a practice at any time is as well; although the official challenge will come about whenever Zeta pops back in.
