It's the Mender Tesseract Strike Force - for level 25 and above.

I guess they would be practical...

Generic Hero was hit by Wolf Spider Tac Ops magnitude 9001 stun! Laughter had a 101% chance to hit.

Now we just need the skintight jumpsuits and the huge shoulder pads you were talking about

I don't know. I tend to have a hard time caring about the physical appearance of women who are attempting to remove pieces of my body. Everything starts to blend together after awhile anyway.

How do they manage not to impale themselves with those costumes?

It was one of Recluse's early eugenics experiments to root out the uncoordinated and clumsy from his ranks. Those who did not impale themselves after a year were given real suits of armor.

If you have to ask that question, my friend, then I cannot give you a good answer, I'm afraid.

They're spectacular. I want more arcs with them.

60's Arachnos are the only thing about Arachnos I like. My only complaint is that they don't go up to level 50, because I would like to make an arc about them.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

What, you mean like they still wear?

I love the "old" Arachnos outfits. Superhero/Villain costuming is not about boring real-life practicality.

It still has to be quite practical though, otherwise, it'd be too silly to be able to take even slightly seriously

Not at all. It doesn't have to live up to Real Life expectations, it only has to fit the paradigm of its own reality. If there were a dimension where Nerf was deadly, it would be feared there despite being squishy and relatively harmless in Real Life.

In Comic Book World, nothing necessarily obeys the same universal laws that govern Real Life, and thus what is impractical in Real Life isn't necessarily so in Comic Book World.

But a comic book is still based on real life, and takes place on planet Earth - so it can't be too far from reality, otherwise it isn't very believable

Even Looney Toons have a basis in real life. Belief is incumbent upon the believer. If it is broken by a slightly absurd bit of costuming amidst people flying, shooting laser beams from their eyes, and withstanding massive gunfire with hardly any ill effects, the problem isn't the costume.

Here's your mistake, you're in an argument with GG.

But the game world and setting is way closer to real life than a cartoon

You know, just for the hell of it, I would now really like it if you could unlock the 1960's Arachnos Uniform pieces for VEATs, and yes, that would mean a 1960's Widow and Fortunata outfit would need to be made, though the older Widow outfit might only just by closer to what Ghost Widow wears (You know, with the sleeves thing).

Agreed.

If you're going to be doing the Archvillian thing, you aren't going to be traveling around in your Stepdad's Nissan Stanza, you're gonna have to get a sweet ride like a Hover-Tank or a giant floating cocoon.

And if your costume has stuff that sticks out, it's not a problem that way.
(Or you could have it retractible and spring-loaded.)

Make them unlockable for completing the Mender Tesseract SF - like you bring back a uniform as a souvenir.

That settles it... I want the 1960s Arachnos costumes as costume options for VEATs. They look so damn stylish.

Oh my god, I actually had been thinking of this too (forgot to put it down). I'm on the same wavelength as Golden Girl, and if that's not weird enough, we're both talking about VILLAINS side stuff!

Isn't it two years too early for 2012?

I have been dreaming of a 1960s Fortunata costume since I played this arc. I was so disappointed when there were only Arachnos Soldiers to fight. But, regardless, I think that the Soldiers are really cool looking in this Arc. I really wish there were unlockable versions of these Costumes for Players to use.

Does anyone know if you can use the 1960s Arachnos in your Mission Architect Arcs?

For 50 Architect Tickets you can.
