Horrible delay lag
Now i'm even more worried, I stated I had an nvidia 8600GTS in my email to them and got this this time:

Needless to say I'm not very enthusiastic about getting a solution. This sucks.

Thats annoying to, I have a bit of a disability, which means I can't work anymore, but this game helps keep my mind at least a bit active, and I've learnt to chat type quite fast. The chat window feels like one of those old word processors that I remember at school that couldnt keep up and the words were in the buffer waiting to come out....whuch they do,
It was ammusing at first...the first five seconds and reminded me of that...after that I though, crap, can't even type in channels and say sorry cant come do that posi or new arc with you now to my globals properly, took 2 mins just to wait for the line to come out.
I was able to fix this by turining down the shadows to stensile. I love the real shadows but it gives me that delay you all are talking about. Like my toon is a spazz if I start to run in a direction and wont stop in time. Many of you said you didnt even turn on Ultra Mode though, so I dont know what that is all about.
I did not have ultra mode on, although it says I can I don't trust it enough yets to say yes, as I only have a 8600GTS.
Well Battler, I got a response back - they wanted me to dl a file that runs a scan on my system and does a printout of what I have, etc. Funny thing is, in my original email, I included a copy of a dxdiag. Is this not the same information?
I'm getting more and more frustrated as the day goes on. This was supposed to be a fun day for my friends and I, all of us playing and exploring new content. Instead, I'm stuck on the sidelines running into walls due to this bug.
Good idea, in anticipation I think I will email them one to, its gone 1am here now and I have had enough and am off to bed. What was supposed to be a fun evening has been ruined really and I don't think it's just the few of us here either.
Hopefully it will resolve itself for tomorrow, but I will not be holding my breath at all.
Getting very similar results here. I know my machine is too old for the graphics so I've not even tried to use them. My problem here is 'sticky' WASD keys for movement. If I press any of them for more than 1-2 seconds, the character keeps moving in that direction for several seconds. In effect, the game has become unplayable. Any Useful suggestions?

Same problem for me. Worked fine yesterday, since I-17 is unplayable.

We've been scanning the forums for help without success. Very frustrating.
I too am having this problem. Submitted a question to tech support with my Game Advisor results and crossing my fingers for a solution.
Unfortunately, disabling my ATI Hotkey Poller had no effect.
As it stands now, CoH/V is unplayable.
Just an update on this thread from me...well not as the case may be.
Still waiting to see if this has beem fixed, moved posting to the sticky thread now. Getting more and more annoyed as the day progressess.
Absolutely nothing to do at the moment had totally cleared 3 days for i17 and done stuff I would normally earlier in the week.

YES...I had this problem the ENTIRE 4 hours I (tried) playing last night! I mapserved every few seconds, and was lagged so badly I kept rubberbanding back to where I was 5 or 6 times..the ONLY reason I stayed online was because I was teamed with my SG & didn't want to drop out. <3 Log in this morning & same thing.
P.S. My graphics are ALL turned low; Ultra mode turned OFF because I can't run it (or can I, on my laptop? no..my video card won't support it.) I have most stuff turned off, like shadows, unnecessary stuff.. and I've never experienced this kind of lag before! So it is NOT my computer, NCSoft!!! If this is how the "new" CoH is going to be, I may have to quit...I JUST got back into it and became active again (and swore I wasn't going to cancel this time!!) but, if it's unplayable, it's unplayable. & I don't have unlimited amounts of money to just up and go out and buy a new laptop just so I can play...(it's hard enough for us to pay our bills, let alone pay $30 for our subscriptions to CoH--hubby plays also.)
PLEASE FIX THIS SO I'M NOT FORCED TO QUIT!!!! I don't want to leave!!!!
P.S. Hubby works at the cable company & he checked our connection when he got to work last night; he said it was FINE...so it's not the internet connection, either. He said it must be server side...

I'm with you on this Stefanie, I stopped my reoccuring billing before I forgot, it's always easy to start it up again. I just want to play, like I was not 30mins before they took the servers down for i17. Its just so worrying. Till then I can't play, so I have a total of about 4 months paid for already between my 2 accounts that I can do nothing with. This is what they have given me, an unplayable game.
Having this ongoing since closed beta, and all the other stuff that's been happening to it is a real worry.
Same thing here. Only for me, it is making my mouse movement lag and pretty much making the game unplayable since i can barely turn or target. Fine with everything up until i17. Had no problems even during the insanity of the Anniv party the other night. I already have everything set to the lowest setting. It's definitely a problem with the i17. I've been here since beta and love the game, but they better fix this quick or I will be canceling by this weekend. I'm not going to pay for a game I can no longer play.

I will post any response I get here in the hopes it helps someone else, but tech support is taking FOREVER, and I am not too hopeful given the response I got earlier asking for information that I HAD ALREADY SUPPLIED in the original email...
Hello Riverdancer, still no reply to me as well, doing my best but have been on and off since 8am BST and still no fix for it. It's still a Clear and Present Problem on the EU and NA servers to me, did a quick test this morning.

It seems clear that 3rd party programs/services (like the ATI hotkey poller) can cause this issue. Has anyone tried to see if closing other 3rd party programs/services can also help get rid of the problem?
It might be worth trying to turn off pretty much any other programs running at the time, including browsers, media players, IM clients, antivirus programs, automatic updaters, quick launchers ... (pretty much anything that puts itself in your system tray) and see if that makes any difference.
If nothing else, it could help ruling out some potential causes.

Well, that depends on what they asked you to run. For instance there's a CoH-specific diagnostic tool that gives information that is different from what dxdiag gives. If, on the other hand, they asked you to run another dxdiag, well, then that'd obviously be the same information.

This game was working fine before i17 now it's broken. Many of us have offered to help. I have been at my comp most of the day, my post count has gone up something rediculous, just waiting in case I can help in any way. I know the tech guys can even take over my computer remotely if I give them permission to see exactly what happens in game if they want.
No email, no replies in any threads, no information about whats going on, that's what the problem is.
I am not about to go stomping around my computer disabeling this that and the other aimlessly till we find out whats happening.
So far I know...its no the connection and its happening to me on the NA and EU servers. It's not my drivers, I even removed them and reintalled them from nvidias own website last night.
The only differance to me is i17. I did encounter this on test to, and /bugged it then, responded in the closed thread on it and started a thread in the open beta thread. With them not taking it seriously I assumed it was just down to something they were doing on test. Bit here we are on live, same problem, same unplayability, same unhappiness , same not playing , same having paid for something I can't use

However, *if* turning off other programs could help (and it's far from certain that it would), then
1) It could help the devs narrow down what is causing the issue
2) It would be a *temporary* way to be able to play the game until the issue has been fixed.
I do understand that testing something like this is not feasible for everyone, but for those who are comfortable with doing such things, it could at least be worth a try.
(it also wouldn't surprise me if people have already tried, and haven't found anything that helps)
I had submitted an email previously with the dx.diag report. Then I got a request for the heroes test.txt which I also added. I know it's added because I can see it as an attachment when I look at 'my stuff' and the open question for tech support.
Guess what I got back as an answer? We haven't gotten the attachment yet. BULL. I can see it attached (as per the instructions I followed to attach it that were in the original email asking me to do this test in the first place), and I know it's attached cos it SAYS it's attached.
Now, there are 4 copies of this test.txt attached to my email. Hopefully someone will be able to see ONE of them.
I understand from the boards that tech support may be overwhelmed here, but c'mon. Throwing bad service at us in the hopes we go away is not going to help.
Is anyone else getting supremely bad customer service/tech support here? Are there any quality checks in place to ensure these guys aren't just blowing emails away without even looking at them, cos that's sure what this seemed like.

I know exactly how you feel. I really hope they fix this. It was fine before before i17 then bam. keyboard input screwed to heck..
Hopefully we won't have to wait to long for them to issue a fix because clearly its a issue with the I17.

Atleast with the Sync bug you could semi fix it with a teleport!

Well that about sums it all up really, I'm sure i17 is really great, but considering I was playing fine the past 4 and a half years...apart from one hicup on a few alts with the /sync problem...that only effected 1 or 5 alts,fine for someone with 2 accounts, 1 in the EU and 1 in the NA and over 100 alts at that time to having probably over 200 now, 5% loss of access to characters, heck even 50% loss of characters, at that point would of been flippin annoying and I would have been, it would not have stopped me playing the issue.
This on the otherhand effects both my accounts AND all of my characters, it's not server or character specific...it's TOTAL.
