Less players on Villain side?
Its just me or its alot harder to form groups in the villian side?
I play on freedom and idk if its only bad luck but finding a team in the red side takes alot more time then Heros side There is a real difference btw the 2 or its just me? |
Are you running around yelling 'LFT' in broadcast? This is generally the worst way to go about it.
I've found that if you use global channels, have an active friends list, and are willing to form your own teams, that there are no problems with teaming on either side, on any server.
Well i started playing 2 weeks ago, so i dont have any friends that play with me
I use the Freedom channel aswell as broadcast, but at my lvl range 23, everytime i open the find list i find like 20 people and most of them arent looking for teams, at the same lvl range in the blue side i find more than 80 people wanting to team
Join a bad team [somehow] and /friend or /gfriend the only good player. Next time they're on ask what they're doing. Repeat ten times. Poof, friends.
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
@Roderick
Also worth note, the search window will only show a certain number of players, that doesn't mean thats the extent of the people that are on.
Specifically you have to look at the bottom of the search window to see how many are total online(keep in mind this is only people who are unhidden)
It really isn't that hard to have / make a team villainside. especially on virtue / freedom. Do you set your LFT status in the team window?
There is a difference between the two sides but Freedom is plenty busy for villains. Check out the suggestions others have posted and you should be fine.

The "Looking for team" message defaults to grey/Not Looking. Most people never change it. Send a /tell to them, they may surprise you. If they say "No thanks", just shrug and move on.

I rarely ever do it myself, but lots of players have good luck sending tells to other players that are already on a team and asking if they have room for one more. That's another potential option for those who just can't stand forming a team themselves.
Also villain side, Cap, Shark and Grandville are the best places to form a team, even if your missions are elsewhere.
But the best advice everyone else has said is to form the team yourself. Do not try to find an existing team, that is an exercise in frustration. Form one.
And don't wait to start the mission until you have 8 people. Give yourself a time limit and then jump into the mission with however many you have.
Better to be playing than standing around waiting for people to get bored and leave you.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Yes im already on the Freedom global channel, i try to make up teams, and i send tell to everyone(99% just ignores it ) anyway, the only thing i think im doing wrong is that i only get people close to my level, i am lvl 23 so i try to get at least people from 20 to 25
maybe i should start inviting people at lvls 15+?
I would think with SSKing you should be okay at +/- 10 levels of you. Plus now we earn XP even when exemplared/malefactored so it's not like you miss out on that.

Remember: The only way to guarantee you're always on a fun team is to form one yourself...
Here's how.

I could say: "The last 3 scrappers I saw were all Shield Defense, so I conclude that no one is playing anything except Shield Defense" and it would carry just as much weight as what you keep saying.
But....since apparently no one is playing, those 3 Shield Defense scrappers were clearly a figment of my imagination.

To be fair, a majority of villain players prefer to solo most of the content.
Active VGs help alot as well. I cannot speak for everyone but in most every VG I have been in where there are several people active, you can almost always find someone to help. There you will also have a pool of people with alts probably around your level that then can bring to enhance the team more than just another body.
Come up with some actual FACTS instead of saying "I don't see anyone, so therefore I conclude that no one is playing."

The few times I've played on red side, as I really don't like the concept of being the bad guy, I never have a problem forming a team. I've had toons on Virtue, and one on Freedom.
Most teams seem to be looking for players.
What I do blue side is either form a team or ask to join. I don't broadcast. Nothing good can come of that 99% of the time and I have learned that blind invites are from people who don't know how to play [but sometimes being part of the train wreck is cool. No one stays on suck teams for more than three missions anyway.]
Do the find and see the grayed out names. /t one of them and ask "Hey, is there room for a Lv23 katana/wp" or whatever. I don't send out more than two of those at once, sometimes only the one. If they don't respond, maybe they have SS as their travel power or are getting their butt kicked, maybe just getting a drink.
After about a minute, hit seach again. The list will have changed as teams will come out of missions and some will go in.
I find standing still with my team thing set to any works also.
And if you see a team on the street, stop by it and say, "Got room?" and hit an attack button so your flames/sword comes out. If there's room, even if it's 20 levels above me, I usually get invited.
I've been in Peregrin Island to get a raptor pack from FBZ and have a 10 get invited to radio missions. It's because the teams need players. Are there places in Villianland where teams need players? Go there, even if it makes no sense.
Some days when I'm marketing, I'll decide I'll accept any invite. I play on a turd team or two, but usually only have 20 min of marketing between. I craft, and that's not much time if I have fast sells.

If they freak out at you for asking when they weren't looking, they should have set themselves to red/Not accepting, and you don't want to team with that sort anyways. Move along and ignore their snark. And of course, as mentioned before, Global Channels are your friend. If you intend on staying on Freedom, go to their server forum, down a bit from this one, and post there asking where to find a good channel. Make sure you mention your interests: Badging, TFs, PVP, Random teams, Redside, Blueside, etc. That way, they can suggest the channels most likely to suit your interests.
