Arc #39008, The Time Bandits by @IanTheM1, is a clever use of little-seen canon characters and a good bit of wit. I enjoyed it immensely.

This arc was extremely creative and it really made me smile. It is only 2 missions, so it won't take long to play.

Working my way through some of these, I've seriously enjoyed Suppression, The Echo, Talos Vice, Blowback, and Freaks, Geeks, and Men in Black. I hope to find characters in the right level range and hit up the rest of them.

Exploding Planet
ARC ID:200411
Author:@ Fantastic Foe

Reason: I have never played any other arc like it. It created a whole new world, complete with a language and at the same time was so funny. I loved this arc!

Warning: You may fail in the last mission. I cheated by getting help and beat it by 1 second (yes it is timed and i normally don't care for timed, but it this case it fit).

Tons of fun

Some quick, one-mission arcs that are at 4 stars and that I enjoyed:

#1814: Science is a Harsh Mistress!
One of the first MA arcs I played when it went live, and it holds up still.

#2595: The Extadine Lab
It's just so cute.

#1526: The Bestest Radio Mission Ever
Pretty much all the radio missions in one.

Chronicles of the Old Realm: The Lord of Dread
#2890
@Robin Everheart

It could perhaps stand to have a smidge more text but the visual design and the contact voice do a good job of setting up a more classical style of fantasy. That said, I also offer one of my arcs

Dhahabu Kingdom and the Indelible Curse of Hate
#367872
@Zamuel

as a fantasy epic set in an African themed realm.

Thank you for considering my Arc for you list.

As listed above, it is...

ID# 2890 - Chronicles of the Old Realm: The Lord of Dread

To add a little more background to it, this is a low-fantasy setting story arc of 3 missions and is based on a portion of a story I've played around with for about 15 years now. It's not a directly represented part of the real story as I had to adapt and compromise to what the Mission Architect will allow.

I made this a long while ago as indicated by the low Arc ID number but I never really advertised it much.

It's largely inspired by Conan the Barbarian and Norse mythology with a tinge of Record of Lodoss War and Heroic Legend Arslan.

I hope those that play it will find it enjoyable and I would appreciate any criticism and the pointing out of typos in the narrative.

I have another arc based on 16-bit "Beat'em Up" sidescroller games from the late-80s/early-90s like Final Fight and Streets of Rage. If you'd like to try it, just search my Global at the AE console...

I created this list as a way to help us find and play arcs and I am very glad to have your arc in the list.

You have @Zamuel to thank you for submitting it. I sent you the PM so you would know your arc was here.

If you know of any arcs that fit the criteria stated in the first post, you can post them here and they will be added to the list.

I look forward to playing the ones listed that I haven't played yet.

Someone asked me if they could submit one of their own 4 star arcs to the list even if they could not find a 4 star arc by an active player that they wanted to recommend. This got me thinking.

My motivation for creating the thread was to help us find great 4 star arcs to play and to help authors of 4 star arcs get feedback and plays for their arcs. So I decided to add another option that allows authors to submit their own 4 star arcs.

Play an arc on the list that you have not played yet. After playing it, PM the author with some in game feedback. Then post on this thread which arc you played and what you liked best about the arc. In that post you can submit your own 4 star arc to the thread.

This arc is so well done. It is filled with details and has a good story. What I love best about it, is that it is visually stunning. I felt like I was in a whole new world created by the author.

Great job!

The setting of the arc is definitely top notch. I reviewed that and the setting overcame all of my nitpicks about the difficulty of some of the custom enemies.

I'll mention a few I think

Past Echoes of Tomorrow #379399 by @Equation aka Arbiter Fabulous

This was submitted for Aeon's second challenge and it's very well written with several of the characters going through their own arcs throughout this... arc.

Chris Jenkins: Attorney at Law #204942 by @Johphiel

An older arc that's held it's age well. A simple one-mission arc with a lot of fun lawyer humor in it.

Task Force Mutternacht #349522 by @twelfth

Made for the first Aeon's Challenge, and if I remember correctly it was one of my favorites that wasn't dev's choiced.

There's several more that are pretty nice, but I don't think the author is active anymore.

If this is reference to me, then I'm still active in the game and I am making MA Arcs. Since I'm a lolRP'er, those recent MA arcs have been in relation to SG/VG specific plotlines that I don't consider accessible for general consumption (plots don't make sense out of context, ridiculous team-based difficulty spikes, etc). I have meant to get back to tweak the old Arcs - particularly INTERNET (which has been out of date since i15). Still, I greatly appreciate the nod, Bubba.

I was pretty sure I'd seen you around the forums, that's why I listed you. But I've got several others from authors I haven't seen around in a little while, or quite a while. Like Suedenim, Anachrodragon and Londerwost, the Cheshire Cat, and Tahlana.

I agree with your recommendation of "Mercytown". It is great!

I just played "Freaks, Geeks and Men in Black" and it is lots of fun. I loved your contact dialog. The arc was full of details. Great job!

Today I played "Blowback", #4643.

This arc was very well written, full of detail and at a perfect play level for me.

What I liked best was the style of writing, which kept my interest all the way through. It evokes emotion without being over the top.

NOTE: I played on a 50, so I am not sure, but it does seem to be impacted by the "fix" in some of the missions at least. For me it was still definitely worth playing.

I'm still here too. I've just been busy with other things lately. I've actually got a few ideas for arcs I'd like to make now that I17 is out.

Astoria in D Minor, a horror arc. Arc ID: 41565 - The Beating Heart of Astoria: A Play in Five Acts. Arc ID: 170547 - Ignition of the Machine, a story with robots. Arc ID: 318983
Captain Skylark Shadowfancy and the Tomorrownauts of Today. Arc ID: 337333 - Signal:Noise, where is everybody? Arc ID: 341194
@The Cheshire Cat - Isn't it enough to know I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

12 second horror stories - a writing experiment.

I played many well 4-stars arcs I would like to recommend here. But I am at work and can't access their numbers.

its a dragg having the good storylines or challenging arcs being repped down by farmers. In the beta my arc got only 5-stars from every player... then when it went live it got either 5-stars from people who actually played it, or 1 star from people who went in and stepped out! Because of this It is now a 4-star arc.

Recently rewrote it because of the 'finally' double size. A time travelling HORROR story I might even have to label 16+ of the blood and violence in it. Shamelessly plugging it here...

Rise of the Blood Countess
#3805
by @elizabeth bathory

When I get back home I will add a nother 4-star I didn't wrote myself but liked to this list too.

- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

Awesome poster image Liz Bathory.

I'm wondering if mine should be removed since it's moved up into the 5 star range.

It's a great arc. Keep it in the list until you are confident it will stay at 5 stars. At that time you can pick another of your 4 star arcs to replace it.
