Day Job Hell: A Villain's First Day Job

@Clave Dark 5

I was looking to play a four star arc by an author I had previously enjoyed, and I found this one. You are a wanna be villain and you get a day job working for Fats Squalor (your contact). It only gets better from there. The contact dialog is well written and grabs your interest right away. There are great clues that are full of funny details and funny NPC dialog as well.

If you are looking for a low level villain arc that is funny and lots of fun to play, this is a great choice! (Nope no snakes).

I played and enjoyed this arc a long time ago. A recent board post reminded me of it, and so I replayed it and I liked it even better the second time. In it you relive the past "Glory Days" of a hero to help find out what is happening now.

The well-written contact dialog grabbed my interest from the start. It made a nice use of clues and for me the difficulty level was just right. What I liked best was the framing. Going back to relive the past memories from the mind of the contact in order to figure out what was happening now, made me want to keep playing to see what would happen next.

Great arc! Which is also a real low level arc.
I played Bad Voodoo.

Mr. Bocor has lost his Voodoo powers and you need to help him get them back.

This is a really fun arc that grabs your interest from the start. It has good contact dialog and makes great use of clues to help tell the story. I really enjoyed it! Thanks to Liz Bathory for recommending it.

This arc has well-written contact dialog which is brief and to the point. It makes a nice use of clues and is only 3 missions. It has a good story and of course the loveable WADDLE. If you are looking for some light-hearted fun, this arc is a great choice!

I found this arc in the Dev's Choice Suggestion thread and I can see why it was nominated.

It is a very creative horror arc about childhood fears. The contact dialog grabbed my attention right away. The customs, which are embody fears are very creative, though somewhat challenging. This arc is very well done and I defnitely recommend it.

This arc was lots of fun to play. It had very well written contact dialog and clues and made a good choce of maps. It was play-like, in that each mssion was an act. Mission 4 was especially creative. It was called Intermission and was non-combat until the end.

I really enjoyed this arc. Thanks to Lazurus for recommending it.

Ever done a radio mission and pondered what the devs were thinking when they named the boss? Should these guys be out on the streets? Ms. Manners doesn't think so and she needs your help to round up the worst of the worst starting with a boss named Manhandle. It only goes down hill from there.

This arc is full of double entendre and so much fun to play. If you are looking for an arc to make you smile, this is a great choice.

I found this arc in PW's contact tree and I really enjoyed it. The initial contact dialog was a letter asking for your help, which grabbed my interest right away. You travel to the town of Innswich to help and as you play discover what is going on there. The arc is very well written and I loved the choice of maps. I especially loved the Elderdeep. This arc is very well crafted and fun to play.

Glad you liked it. There is a sequel, Vengeance of a League, hosted on my inactive alt account (I forget the # but DoaL has it in its description). Takes place a few years later and shows that murdering a bunch of superheroes is never as simple as it seems.

This arc is very creative. It is filled with humor, from the contact dialog to the clues. It was lots of fun to play, and except for the last mission, soloable on a level 20ish squishy. For the last mission I would suggest a team or a higher level hero. I was able to solo with ease on a 50 controller. What I loved best was the Prawn customs. Great job and lots of fun!

Thanks for the play, Arrowrose! INTERNET was my first published arc, so it definitely shows its age and my experience at the time. That last mish definitely needs work, as many folks have mentioned its difficulty due to the mixed-group of standard critters. Right now a re-design is slightly beyond my task list at the moment, but I'll be looking at it. I may end up trying to retool it for the 15-25-30 crowd - but that requires a lot of very careful balancing.

Just a reminder if any of you have any four star rated arcs that you have enjoyed, please post theme here.

Also if you have a four star arc of your own you would like added, all you need to do is recommend one of someone else's four star arcs or play one in the list and post what you enjoyed about it.

If there are any arcs in this list that you feel belong in certain categories, PM me or post here.

I have been trying to select arcs to play that someone else has recommended, so that the arcs I add are arcs at least one other message board poster has enjoyed. The more people contribute, the better the list will be. So please don't be shy in posting arcs you liked here.

Thanks to those who have already posted arcs in this thread. I have been slowly playing them and I have enjoyed them a lot!
