Ninja Run Blues

OKAY! I am getting annoyed.

I really like using ninja run. If not just for the general boost to movement and jumping, but also the aesthetic.

I was looking at the movement powers thinking I was going to have to pick a one for my stalker, so I decided on leaping... I pick up the combat jumping power and BAM! Ever time I turned this new power on my ninja run kicks off. I understand having ninja run not effect the main or full movement powers but this sub power... please!

I am also annoyed that now I have to ether work to a respect or buy one with this dead power slot.

I really would like to know how we can know what powers stack with ninja run and what do not.

The stacking isn't just the main problem, on the aesthetic note, can we have a way to have some of these bonus powers on all the time but only aesthetically, including the jet pack? Or maybe have the jet pack as a back detail? I would really like to have the style of running in ninja run all the time though.

the only things that stack with ninja run are fly or teleport powers, and sprints, all other running/leaping powers are mutually exclusive with ninja run

Is there a list?

Use Ninja run for travel, use Combat Jumping for...combat.

I realize you're having aesthetic issues, but be sure to check the end cost of running Ninja Run in combat plus the fact that it gets suppressed.

Combat Jumping is cheap end wise, gives you added mobility in combat and adds immob protection and a little bit of defense.

the ones that wont work with it i know of are combat jump, super leap, and super speed

all sprint powers (the generic one and veteran sprints) will all work with ninja run, fly and hover can work with ninja run, and teleport will work with ninja run

We should be getting a free respec with I17 if you can wait that long. Not a perfect solution but there if you can't manage to get on a villain respec team.

Swift and Hurdle from the Fitness power pool stack with Ninja Run.
Makes it much more effective.

Travel powers that don't stack with Ninja Run:

  • Everything except hover, fly, group fly, teleport and temporary powers that provide flight or teleportation.

And it's a good spot to slot a Karma Knockback Protection if your character lacks it (or a LotG +Rech, if you desire). So dead power slot, I think not.

hai cow!

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Yeah. The prestige power slide actually trumps NR for the movement animation. So you get a nice speedy slide.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

I'm partial to ninja run + swift + quickness + sprint.

Except Slide isn't readily available to the 'have-nots', so thanks *so* much for bringing it up.

Though Ninja Run + hurdle + quickness(or without quickness) + sprint is faster.

You don't have nearly as much control in the air with Ninja Run as you do Combat Jumping/Super Jump, which makes dodging around obstructions a fair bit tougher, which lowers your speed a fair bit.

Just did a search on Amazon: CoV Collector's Ed--- $4 and change for a brand new unopened retail box. And it includes the Prestige slide power, a badge and the Heroclix figurines (and a month of game time). If you doubt the veracity of the unopened staus, I bought 2 of these and they were both as advertised.

It was City of HEROES collecter's edition that had it. CoV collecters edition got a pocket D vip pass, jump jet (I think), and access to all villain/hero pieces at the time for both sides. I bought it to get the costume pieces originally (not realizing how much I love masterminds). Then again I bought GvE just for the justice/sinister costume pieces, and architect edition for the costume pieces and power booster.

Both wrong.

City of HEROES COLLECTOR'S EDITION: Prestige Sprint & Cape of the Four Winds.

City of VILLAINS COLLECTOR'S EDITION: Arachnos Logo for cape and chest.

Good v. Evil Edition (or Pack): Pocket D VIP Pass; Jump Pack; Justice & Sinister Costume Sets.

My TanCrab Scuttles around with Ninja Run + Swift + Hurdle + Sprint. My Katana scrap is essentially following the same formula, except with quickness and 4 x +7.5% run speed procs slotted in his auto powers.

GvE can obviously still be had through the NCSoft store. And the CoV collector's edition has always been fairly easy to find, whether thru Amazon, eBay, etc. But I always had trouble finding the CoH CE set which has that slide sprint - I've been irregularly looking for a couple of years now.

I can find the CoH Deluxe edition on ebay, but all the auctions on there are in the UK. Is the deluxe edition the EU version of the game or would these work for the US version. It lists the Prestige Power Slide as included in it.
