Has anyone created any tribute arcs...?

I'm not trying to get anyone into trouble or call down the wrath of any lawyers!

I'm just curious if there are any arcs or missions which feature characters or situations which might seem familiar but which take place with CO* assets.

For example, a couple of months ago I'd innocently asked if anyone had any suggestions on how to create a Jedi-based character, and I got a bunch of responses. Based on this, has anyone created any Jedi- or Sith-influenced missions for MA?

For another example, I know some people here have played the Freedom Force series of games. Has anyone created a story arc featuring the continuing adventures of a Freedom Force-like team?

For a final example, we've got Paragon busy at work on their Mirror Universe version of Paragon City. In the comics, Mirror Universe stories have given us the Squadron Sinister, the Squadron Supreme, the Crime Syndicate of America and countless others. Are there any arcs which feature analogues of already-existing superteams to fight alongside or against our characters?

Like I said, I'm not looking to get anyone into trouble, but using existing characters as templates for new ones is a long-running staple of comics literature. Has this tradition been taken up here in MA?

For tribute arcs, Teen Phalanx Forever! (arc 67335) is an homage to Teen Titans or Young Justice style teen supergroups, with various teen versions of canon heroes...and of your hero.

Talos Vice (arc 338380) is, of course, a Miami Vice tribute, co-starring Det. Croquette.

For other people's arcs, I've also seen a JSA-esque homage (Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society) and a Superfriends tribute (I forget the name .... it was Challenge of the Super-buddies or something close to that).

For mirror universe arcs, I've seen several, it's a popular theme. For my part, A Warrior's Journey - The Flower Knight Task Force (arc 260284) presents a sort of "What if? CoH and CoV were set in feudal Japan?" with feudal Japan analogues of several canon heroes and villains.

For other people's arcs, The Butterfly Effect and Cats and Lizards explore lizardpeople and catpeople alternate earths. Pandas vs Rikti and Against the Wickerwork Khan both explore Panda earth. Galactic Protectorate is an alternate earth that is occupied by aliens. I'm pretty sure I've seen one arc where the Freedom Phalanx heroes are insane and you have to rescue them, one where the Freedom Phalanx has been converted into Freakshow (Freakshow Phalanx maybe?), one where they've all been given Halloween costumes and powers (werewolves, vampires etc). I'm sure there are dozens more along those lines that I'm just forgetting.

In answer to your question: yes, there's a lot of tribute or homage arcs out there. If you're looking for Star Wars arcs, simply put "Star Wars" in the search bar and you'll find plenty. Now I'm not saying they're any GOOD, but they exist

If you're a fan of anime, check out my 1 mission homage to Azu Manga Daioh, ID #21391 "Enter the Father Hat Gang"

It's got cute anime schools girls with big guns and lots of inside-joke humor for the Azu Manga fan. If you're not a fan, you'll probably still find it somewhat amusing

An homage I would recommend, but isn't my own, is: A Voyage Fantastic, ID #81829 by @Stalemate. I haven't played it in a while but it was creative at the time it was made.

Also, Talos Vice (mentioned above) is pure win in a Dixie cup!!

Good luck and have fun.

Craft your inventions in AE!!

Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!

I created a tribute arc to the Wizard of Oz.

I takes the basic OZ story and re-invents it CoH style.

It is callled Supression and the arc ID is 374481 with an author of @Gypsy Rose.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

There's also a few good "Alice In Wonderland" based arcs floating about, but I can't recall any titles off the top of my head.

"Arena" ID #390921. Arena Gladiator fights have degenerated into mere propaganda in the cold war between the U.S. and the Rogue Isles. Arachnos has assigned you as security during the World Championship in St. Martial's Golden Giza arena.

This is a tribute arc. To what? It's revealed in the souvenir, if you don't figure it out sooner.

One that I did just for fun turned out to be pretty funny. It is a (mostly) loving satire of old television shows called, Do not adjust your sets.
If you play it, be sure to read all the descriptions.

Might be helpful if you told us what arc you were referring to.

Enjoy your day please.

It is called DO NOT ADJUST YOUR SET. That is why I said I had written an arc called do not adjust your sets. I'm funny that way.
