Best Farming Brute for Blue Side & GR?

OK, after reading a lot on farming brutes it seems SS/Fire is the best for most farms and especially 8 man Nemesis, but I am also wanting to take this brute blue side with GR and he would be my blue side farmer, so would SS/Fire still be the best? On Red I love SS/Fire because longbow flame throwers can bite me! Take that fire patch and shove it lol.

I have a fire/rad controller already (I wont play /kin anything)and he farms fine. I wonder if a brute will do better or worse than that combo blue side. I know status protection is excellent obviously, but I have a decent recharge status protection from my epic power set. Any opinions about this?

Claws / Elec or DB / Elec would make quick work of the various level 45 - 50 Carnie maps.

The SS/Fire will definitely be better than the Fire/Rad. The demon farm blue side would be an absolute breeze with the Brute.

If you choose to use an SS/Fire, either go Mu or Soul for the epic set. Mu will have better AoE capabilities overall, but you'll get that from DoT vs. Souls upfront damage and Gloom.

SS/FA or SS/SD. SS/SD isn't great for non-AE villside farming because that's basically just Nemesis who chew up SD.

Heroside however, SD rules. As Fiery said, SS/FA will breeze through the Demon farm. If you want to run Council Earth or Battle Maiden, SS/FA would be fine but SS/SD would be better.

I'd say it depends how patient you are. If you want to make/level something now, go with SS/FA since you'll be able to run villside farms with it as well as heroside eventually. If you're making it purely as a redside toon to farm heroside, go SS/SD.

This is of course assuming you have the funds to make the builds work well. Both SS/SD and SS/FA can be pricey to get going strong. SS/WP would be very cheap to run and still be much faster than your Fire/Rad troller.
I'd say

Howzabout SS/Elec. You know... for those non-demon farms.

I actually just rolled an SS/ELA, for whatever reason the pulsing on blazing aura gives me a brain cooker of a headache. I have energize down to a reasonable 35s recharge, and footstomp at 6.xx seconds. I'm just hoping that the middling resists are enough to hold up. If sapping were as effective on mobs as it is on players I wouldn't hesitate :/.

SS/Elec has a longish recharge heal and no Fiery Embrace (which is great for Blazing Aura), OTOH it has the recharge bonus and power sink. If you manage to survive until the next Energize, I think it would be a very decent farmer. Especially for Rikti with all those psionics and energy floating around.

Right now I am playing a SS/SA and even in granite he can kill pretty quickly. His resist are obviously excellent also, but I know he is slow compared to what others can do lol. I just hate to make a Willpower anything uggg. I am level 44 right now, and I am building for recharge. I just don't think he will cut it for a true farmer though in the end unless I was purpled out.

I have a Elec/ Tank that I built 30% S/L def which seemed to be over the top for survival. If I can manage a lot of recharge and 25-30% S/L for the brute, I think he'll be tough enough for most farming content.

I think.

So with just Ios a shield would not be that great correct? You need expensive sets right? So I am looking at a billion or more just to make him good enough to be a farmer, which to get money in the first place is why people farm lol.

My best bet it seems like would just to suck it up and jump on the bandwagon and make a SS/WP Brute. I have a billion on red side, plus miracle recovery and numina recovery with chance for + end proc, so I guess I could make a sturdy WP brute, I would just need to p/u the special regen enhancement.

The no Dmg Aura really bothers me though, I know granite is 30% less dmg, but mut pots seem to do some nice dmg that really adds up, so I wonder if the dmg would be that much of a difference if I made a SS/WP Brute?

Sure, having mudpots seems like a great idea, but the -damage, -recharge, and slow run speed run largely counter-intuitive to the virtues of farming. There is a reason you rarely see stoners farming. Why gimp yourself with a deficit on your offensive capability when you can just roll a different secondary and not be sandbagged with those issues? SS/WP is farmable on SOs, but I wouldn't want to think of the required investment you would need to turn a stoner into being similarly performing.

Also, I doubt that mudpots will make up the difference in killing speed between a ss/wp and ss/sa. The ss/wp will still likely run circles around the /stoner.

Words to the wise aren't necessary- it's the stupid ones that need them.

SS/WP can farm decent spawns with just SOs if built right.

Solo farming works best since you can set up your insp the way you want and leave a couple empty spots. Then whatever drops, use it. This of course is true for any build though.

SS/Fire can be done pretty cheap as well.

A billion? I put together a good build for about 300 million at buy-it-now prices, and that was on the redside market.

I meant that if he has a billion, he has enough to invest in a SS/FA. I didn't say he'd need the whole billion, just that SS/FA does require some investment.

Sooo would something like this (maybe getting weave instead of RoTP for another Lotg) could be a farming build since 300 million builds were mentioned?

If the blazing aura gives you issues, suppressing close FX will solve that

Now, I am so much of an alter that I do not farm much. Having said that, I found a brute that can farm while I watch TV (he is leveling himself to 50 while I channel surf). I made up a Fire/Fire brute as a concept demon. Then I ran in my normal solo farm (any farm that has bubblers that softcap your res/def will do). Set the mobs at +2/x8, walk into a mob, and go watch TV. Come back in 5 minutes, switch him to the next mob. The damage aura does it all. Happy farming.
