QoL- Warp to Point

I'm thinking of this as a QoL ability vet reward or booster pack. A player could designate the point they are on a public map as a memory point and TP there in the future if he has it recharged.
I would find this very useful for when I'm teaming and I would like to go to a specific store quickly to buy and sell or even to a trainer during the early levels when we level fast. It can have a long recharge time eg same as mission TP and it has a good limit in the fact that you have to have already travelled there so it could not be abused.

I wouldn't make it based on the thumbtack since the thumbtack doesn't give you a nice, reliable z-axis (or is it y-axis for vert). I've had thumbtacks that were suspended in mid-air or disappeared into the ground.

I'm not entirely sure it's possible, but, then again, I'm not entirely sure it isn't possible. As a power, it probably wouldn't work because you'd need to have a target or targeted location that you pick at the time of the teleport. As a function that can be ingrained in a power, it would probably work because you just store a location variable in the same way that the mission teleporter grabs your mission's door location and teleport to that zone and location upon use. It might require a pair of powers (one to store the location and another to teleport there), or, conversely, it might just require one (first activation stores current location, second teleports to location and deletes stored location, repeat).

Yes I was thinking of 2 powers. One would store the position where you are (server side so hackers couldn't get at it) and then another to do the TP-ing. You could not change the location your self unless you travelled to another location and selected it again.

The Mark & Recall spells in Ultima Online worked this way, and that made for the best fast travel system I have ever seen thus far in any MMO.

I'd rather see a 5th power pool option listed with Teleport, that when you clicked it...

List of...

All Zones you have access to, possibly broken down into a few smaller areas [ie...IP tailor, IP Magic store, IP Trainer...ect]
All WWs
You Base and Assessable Coalitioned Bases
And the Active Mission

...popped up. You click on the one you want to go to...and BAM! There! That would feel like some Teleporting to me.

I think because then the other three travel powers would suffer greatly. As it is the four powers are pretty much balanced in terms of speed, endurance, maneuverability.

If you allow Teleport to take you from say the RWZ to Perez Park in just the amount of time it takes you to load into the new zone then the others are at a severe disadvantage.

I don't think the devs would like to do this because of possible exploits. I am proposing something where you have to have already travelled to the location.

Yeah Dimension Door is better

they mention zone based accolades for exploration badges in i17... maybe the accolade power will be a teleport anchor point based power?

You know. I really don't see the other travel powers suffering because of this idea.

While yeah, some people will be all "oh yeah, PVE easy mode" others will still be "not in concept", "doesn't help me in PvP", "fly's just as safe/just a little slower/alot more fun"

Alot more fun can go to any of the other travel powers.

Not only that, I thought of it as a 5th Power Pool Idea, so they can come up with equally good 5th travel power pool ideas.

That is a point, of course. You just implement basically the same thing for all the pools with different special effects.

SS: Hyper-run: You move so fast you just blur away from where you are, vibrate through the war walls, and appear at your target.
Fly: Hypersonic: You take off upward and land at your target.
Jump: Hulk-mode: Same as Fly, but you jump instead of flying.

Still almost certainly too powerful, and the UI would be horrible. Probably not exploitable since the devs would be in control of the target locations.

To powerful? Hmmm. I don't think they would be. Either they would have to take 2 Preq powers first, or 3. That in and of itself, would stop it from being to powerful imo.

Even 60 month vets have to take 2 preq, to get the tier 4 power in a travel power pool.

They could say you have to take 3 for this one. Some would be willing to sacrifice powers for it, others wouldnt.
