Just a heads up I'm gonna try to con some folks into a Posi run tonight. Will be looking for 5 max, unless there is just some uncontrollable urge from 7 others. Will be looking at stealthing whatever possible to cut down the time.

(these posts are just to see if using the forum is still worth doing)

I should be able to join up. I was thinking of doing a double XP weekend run of all the TF commander TFs, this will eliminate the need for me to try and find a Posi team.

Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

Dinging 50 on a Posi run? Intriguing.

Sign me up with my DB/Gimp Scrapper. I hope to be respecced and properly slotted by then.

Willpower = Gimp? You're not doing it right...

Tell me you've respec'd into tough and weave.

Also, 6 slot health if you can afford all the heal procs.

WP is pretty solid right out of the box. Tough and weave allow you to play tank if necessary.

The biggest caveat of WP is that you need to take all of the powers, save the rez.

As others will be glad to tell you, I thought the focus of WP was damage resistance.

I didn't have High Pain Threshold or RttC slotted for health. I certainly didn't have Tough or Weave. My resists capped at around 35%, and I couldn't take an alpha to save my life.

I have remedied most of these issues (took Tough but not Weave), and I specced out of Weapons Mastery into Body Mastery, picking up FA and Physical Perfection.

She should work much better now.

*ahem* *tries to hold in his snorts of laughter*

Good job on owning up to that... I don't think I could have. I'm sorry, MG, I just don't know what you were looking at for this set.

I promise not to rib you about it too much more.

You'll probably do okay without Weave, though it is a nice boost. Any defense and resists you can pick up will help your higher HPs and regen do their thing. Eh to Body Mastery. I usually get enough accuracy and recovery boosts from my IO sets that I don't see it as too necessary. Especially when WP already has Quick Recovery. But whatever you like! Sounds like you are on a better track.

His build now, or before, doesn't really matter if he dings 50 while on a Posi run.....

The chances of him playing the character after 50 is pretty small, if past experience is any indication. I should know; I think I've had a fairly dominate hand in most of his guys as it is Not sure how I got roped into getting a fairly large chunk of his leveling with this cast-off Iso guy though.

For the TF, meet at contact. Don't make me hunt down your global.

It's true I usually drop toons after 50, but GR is supposed to change all that, right, Devs? RIGHT?!

Ah, this explains a lot...::facepalm::

You should have asked earlier about WP. I have two /wp scrappers and a wp/ tank. I probably could have saved you a certain amount of grief.

Nerdrage is BS/WP.

Did you skip stamina for physical perfection? As GP pointed out FA is kinda meh (end hog) and outside of PvP, I don't see the need with IO set bonuses.

Regardless, now that you know you are a less clicky version of regen, I suspect life will be better for that toon.

Assuming you ever play it again after tonight....

Intriguing, when I try to build a small team, I like to run with just 3.

Triumphant Defenders Forever
Psylenz FF/Psi, ArticQuark Storm/Rad, Symon BarSisyphus Bots/psn, Max VanSydow Thugs/Dk, Cyclone Symon Bots/stm, Blue Loki Ice/Cd, Widow 46526
HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

Someone else take this, please.

I took Perfection for the regen, not for the recovery (3 slotted with Health). I took Stamina, but only because I was going to take health anyway and it's just one more power. With all the toggles I run (4 WP ones plus Tough plus FA), I need all the end I can get. And yes, QR is three slotted...

Heck, 6 man Posi runs aren't that bad. I did that last time when I had that many interested and couldn't find more. You do get a few more Ruin Mages, perhaps, but nothing too earth-shaking. (hmmm, pun intended?)

My Peacebringer still needs this so count me in. And hey, I can even pocket tank if need be.

I didn't mean to offend someone with a varying opinion, in fact, I said I was intrigued by the 5 man team effort on Positron. (In times passed, multiple madness mages seemed more difficult than ruin mages.)

Lol. On this server, merely showing up is enough to offend someone, somewhere. Try not to take it personally.

Yeah, don't mind us, Psylenz, a bunch of us have "grumpy old codger" attitudes. I was taking a joking tone with Voo's post, too.

Yeah, I noticed jerkface Did you go into a food coma after eating dinner at 430 during the early bird special, old man?

Thanks to Zamuel for replacing you. Overall went veddy smoothly. Not gonna do that again till after the update, that's for sure. It's just not a fun TF

Not fun, heresy. I love doing these (in teams of 2-5) in a little over an hour with my 1M + 300 ? merits build and I'm by no means the fastest around. I'll miss it when they revamp it.

Well, for those of us that aren't swayed by merits alone, I'm glad they're changing things up. Every time I play it, it stands out for how repetitive, boring, and unimaginative the arc is. It's the worst of the original TFs.

Sure, they might somehow make the two parts uninspired when they work on it, but when you're starting at the bottom of unfun-ness, it's not too hard to go up from there (and they have a fairly good track record for good content). The only thing going for it now is that it's worth a bunch of merits: I'd much rather the TF was improved and made more fun and dynamic than keep it the same for farming purposes (or whatever people want to call their repeat Posi runs... they're not doing it because it's fun, it's the merits).

I find synapse and citadel much worse. Only one enemy group.

I actually get a buzz off fast running posi that I get off very little else in this game, I have no idea why, I hate really fast ITFs. I actually do this for fun as much as merits. Could it be running it with a small team, so the pressure's on you all the time ?

Other than getting a random buzz from running it quickly, though, what is there to it? I don't think you're arguing that the content is good, just that it's your definition of "fun," which is hard to measure (not really debating that... what you find fun is okay, but I hope you know that most people find Posi to be an abysmal experience: and I certainly hope you don't think it's good content, heh).

Synapse is overly long as well, but it's not quite as long, and there is a good flavor to it from the Clockwork (sure, you may not like them, but it's a TF with much more character to it than Posi... Babbage, the last map, and the Clockwork King make sure of that). I can understand not liking it (I don't run it much either), but it's good for what it is, other than needing a bit more streamlining with the many repeat missions (though I think they have done that a bit).

Citadel could use some flavor, I agree. Beating up Nazis is fun, but Vandal is a bit meh as an AV. Same for Manti. In fact, I'd like all of the original TFs to have something more original to them, like the end of Synapse (and what it sounds like Posi is getting). Pretty much all of the new TFs have something that makes them unique (Striga ones are even decent, they're in Striga, and Hess has the huge volcano and robot). But of all of the originals, Posi had length, difficulty, reduction of powers, and blandness all going against it. It stands out as the worst of the Phalanx TFs, so it's good that they went for it first.
