How to get into team arena?
To be fair, when myself and a few other disruption guys joined kickballs, we had no real trouble getting into a few games.
Sure we were the fat kids in others but that's to be expected when you have 24 odd people fighting for 16 spots.
So i guess just keep trying TRT.
CoH PvP SG = SuperUnion - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
CoV PvP VG = Disruption - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
Global = @Rent & @Rent.
Playgroup are all **** - Global Handle
It doesn't matter if you're a cool kid, Kat and Elf Stalker still get fat kidded.
the game changes but the people don't...

I would much rather be a "noob" being farmed than a supposed to be Veteran player being farmed.

I'm not saying that he's incapable of dying, but lauding a player for dying on an offensive toon (a prime target to be called) in a system with delayed damage is pretty funny. I've seen just about every blaster get "farmed". Evasion, fast locking and decent communication are hard to come by.
On another note, you mentioned that we should try to get private PvP practice matches going as opposed to "stacking" teams in Kickballs? We ask for 8v8s practically every night on Freedom, to no avail.
We've practiced twice against Bitter's team? Granted, our Friday practice yielded plenty of matches. We've practiced against Dex's team on numerous occasions, and once against Divine's team. I'm sure the fierce beating that Divine's team took has discouraged them from any further practice sessions with us.
Point is, don't ask us to do something that we're already trying to do nightly. And don't blame us if people don't want to practice with us.
Kickball can be just as competitive as any other form of PvP in this game. Friday night PuGs on Test back in the day were exactly the same format. Normally there was always a stacked team that ended up dropping bombs. The majority of the players involved in this kickballs were aware of that. It's part of the reason why I dislike those type of matches to begin with.
Your form of "balancing" the teams out for matches on live is pretty laughable too, considering it involves taking a ton of people that you know I team with, putting them on your team, and ensuring that a TA is on your team so I spend 10 minutes glue arrow'd with blasters that couldn't find a target, much less navigate their weiner out of a diaper.
Yep I have been fat kidded. Oddly though I realize I have a lot to learn and pretty much suck. I also realize I am called a target a lot for that. Life will be much more enlightning when you come to the same realization. Just like they talk trash about how crappy I am, they do the same about you. Just like they call me as target as much as they can, they do the same for you. The sad thing about it is that I know it and you are oblivious to reality. I haven't pvp'd in almost 2 years and only pvp'd for about a year before that, what is your excuse oooo veteran one?

You're exaggerating a bit. While everyone may say that Vert gets farmed, for the sheer purpose of fitting in, he really doesn't. Also, he locks targets faster than 98% of the playerbase that PL'd and fully PvP IO'd out their Psy/EM blasters. He's also a decent target caller and has probably played and filled more roles successfully on a team than you have.

Just because you can't get League 8v8's going does not mean that its ok to manipulate the kickballs to team up with your own League team or personal buddies. If you let the kickballs be fairly divided up (and by you I don't actually mean specifically you) with equal vets and noobs or equal good players and terribad players the end result is generally going to be decent matches. If done fairly the matches should generally be within a few points of each other. Scores that are 20-4 are not only not fair but also not fun. This is kickball not the League we are talking about.
Again whether we divide the teams up fairly or let Captains pick the end result always happens when certain people are there. Teams get stacked. People purposely join when its the Captains turn to pick they want to be on. People quit out if they are picked for the team they dont want to be on etc. People send tells of what team they want to be on and or not be on. People refuse to play with certain people. Not only does that make kickballs a pain in the *** but to be quite honest it makes League teams not even want to deal with those specific people either which could be a contribution to why its so hard to get matches going.
My suggestion is if you are so good that you don't want to get cooties from the crappy players that you don't show up for kickballs, save yourself the heartache and everyone else too.
(again you is not specifically you, just a broad term)
**BTW me and Bitter's team will be happy to fight you guys. We just needed some time to get some more players and toons leveled and accoladed to field a team, we started way later than the other teams at organizing.
I thought Vert was called because he runs around on characters with like 1005 HP and aid self instead of 1500 and phase? :P
Srsly though, locks fast and calls targets. Don't think I've ever been in a match where he was anywhere near the weakest link on a team. Cept maybe that one time with the Storm Corrupter, but that was kind of funny.
Personally, I am shocked that one pvper would belittle another pvper.
shocked.
I am also shocked that pvpers would let their ego get in the way of helping new players.
shocked.
this is really shocking and unexpected behavior.
Vert talks "trash" to people online cuz he cant do it outside of his bedroom. Get use to it, everyone else has.
Of course you would, I imagine that would be obvious being he is on your team. That doesn't change the fact that he isn't sooo good that he should belittle other players.

My choice of Vert over any other blaster has nothing to do with the fact that he is already on my team. I'd take Vert over any other blaster who plays right now because he is better than any other blaster who plays right now.

Honestly I pick people I know are competent over randoms that I have no clue how they play.
Also another thing I found that helps getting picked is not to flood the Arena with random ATs and sub-par ATs with bad powersets. Once people figure out ( from you showing them ) that you're not retarded and can perform in your AT competently then you will start to not get fat kidded.

key to "balancing" kickballs is to not be a tard and balance around who's playing and not what they are playing.
giving a team a shiddy farmable emp is a lot worse than giving them a kin with 1000 hp that dies less than hot heals.
The best advice anyone can give to you is be known though, all the rest lead up to that. If I hop on my dom which I don't think I'm terrible on I get fat kidded 4/5 times, but if I get on my stalker I get picked, and it's usually not even because of kat's AT balancing...
How to get picked in team arena?
Set up a kickball event.
Captain one of the teams.
Thanks everyone for the ideas and suggestions.
When/if practices start back up, I think you will find kickball going back to 'normal'
