WhoHuhWha?

(sigh)

.... another monthlong work crisis derails another contest entry...

Ah well, another half-finished project to shelve.... I swear, if I ever win the lottery & quit my day job, I've got a backlog of these things that'll last me till retirement age.

Looking forward to playing the winning entry.

Dang! And here I been knockin' myself out trying to fit my intricate plotline expressed as best I can with text-heavy dialogue mission intros, clues and so on!

And facing only about 3 hours of free time that I have left to finish it up and playtest it too. :/

I should have gone for another goofy idea arc and dumped this heavy drama idea a long time back...

"Cheesed it", heh heh!

Good luck kids. I played pool instead, and beat some people I had no right to beat in my inebriated state. All is good. May you be the winner!

I got a 'hi! Thanks for entering dr Aeons challenge!' type tell ingame yesterday from someone official sounding. Anyone kbow what this signifies? Does it mean my arcs been played by a judge, or is it just a 'your arc is officially a contender' notofication?

Any ideas?

I got one too, but the number of plays hadn't gone up (two so far). Maybe they have a way of playing without it registering? No idea, really. As for being official-sounding, it was from Doc A himself.

I didn't get a tell, but I got a comment on my arc from The Television's nemesis. It was a "Thankyou for entering" comment, but seeing as it was on the arc itself I assume that means that he's played it.

Bad Voodoo by @Beyond Reach. Arc ID #373659. Level 20-24. Mr. Bocor has fallen victim to a group of hooded vigilantes who have been plaguing Port Oakes, interfering with illegal operations and pacifying villain's powers. He demands that revenge is taken on these miscreants and his powers are returned! You look like just the villain for the job. Challenging.

Hm, I didn't think to check to see if it was on the arc's comments. o.o!

As far as I know, the play count does not go up unless someone rates your arc that has not already rated it.

I also got a tell which to me indicated that my arc had been played. I really appreciated that because last time many of us wondered if our arcs had been played.

It is really great to get a message so we know. I think that asking him to rate each arc would make his job much harder.

Thanks for the message so we know the arc has been played and for making the contests. It's fun to have a challenge.

I've been playing the arcs entered for this contest over the last week or so on my DB/WP Scrapper Ragtime Smith, and I'd just like to thank Dr Aeon for setting it at this low level. The combinations of mutliple stories of generally consistently high quality and a DING every story or two and the resulting new poers has proven to be a really nice week of gaming.

My thanks of course also go out to all the entrants. Well done everyone. As Gypsy said to me ingame, it's got to be a difficult choice for the good Doctor.

Yeah, if I were in Dr. Aeon's shoes I wouldn't be rating the arcs either. Could you imagine peoples' reactions if they got anything less than a 5 star from him?

And it's March 3rd... we have now reached the "On" date, will the good doctor keep us waiting til the "around" date? (He may very well do so, since I have this mental image of Aeon sneaking around the Rogue Isles with Dual Pistols firing nanite-engineered paintballs that deconstruct your brains at the cellular level while giving you halitosis.)

Kudos to Dr. Aeon!

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this - I didn't see it - but this time around we all got email confirmation of our entries, and we got an in-game tell when our arc was played. Those were all player requests from the previous contest.

The next thing I'm hoping to see is a more prominent announcement of the winning arc. Last time around, the announcement was buried deep in a thread, which - in my opinion - is not the way to go. If the contest is announced on the main page, the results should be announced on the main page.

Good luck to all who entered!

I got an out-of-office reply email to confirm my contest entry, but did not receive a tell to let me know my arc was played. I don't know if everyone else received that confirmation, but I'm fairly certain that I did not.

Regardless, congratulations to Sister Twelve for winning the challenge. I haven't had a chance to play many of these, but they're on my to-do list. Now all I have to do is get time to look at that list.
