hey ,how about a 2x merit weekend? the 2x xp weekend is fine, but with the new SSK and patrol xp you can lvl up pretty fast now. there are recipes I would like to buy that a 2x weekend would make a lot easier. and some people would make the recipes and sell on the markets,50+ mill for a recipe would go far in outfitting a toon.

absolutely /unsigned. just roll your tickets in the right brackets: bronze 10-14, silver 25-29 and gold 35-39.

Why not just include merits during 2x weekends. In fact buff all rewards for 2x weekends double XP, drop chances, double tickets, merits, and vangaurd.

I like your thinking Lisar. Double XP, double merits, double drops. All goodness to me.

I was under the impression that 2x weekends already gave double all static numeric rewards, including merits.

Still no thanks. I like the fact that during Double XP Weekends I can still get more or less whatever kind of team I want to. Double merits means an overwhelming majority of players would be doing TFs and nothing but TFs.

So you want to control how other people play?

No... He doesn't want the game controlling how HE plays.

I'm just picturing how popular Posi and Doc Q would be on such a weekend.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

Double merits would be to easily abusable, people would work through most of a story arc and save the last mission for the double merit weekend.

When enough people need it, my Coalition sets up Doctor Q with one person dual-boxing, and the dual-boxed leader sitting at the contact so that we can go straight from one mission to the next. 3 hours to complete is pretty much normal.

If the OP can't see anything broken about 6 people each getting 222 merits, and a seventh getting 444 in 3 hours, then I really don't know what else to say.

well yes there are one or two that would be a bit crazy, but look at the other side, villians have no large merit tfs like dr q, what i see happening is almost the same as 2x xp weekends, a lot of people doing ITF/LG

i would do 3 itf with a char, and get a total of 156 or so merits , which would go a long way to getting certain recipes needed.

unlike 2x xp weekend ,people would not be haunting AE and be out in the "world".during a 2x xp weekend at least on my server we mostly do clear alls to get max XP/inf.
and rememeber no one forces you to get 2x merits, just do normal things and not get rewards, do no tfs, or takedown GMs or even play if you dont want,I am just suggesting ideas to help maybe jump start some more playing.

and if you dont like the merits, make a high priced recipe and sell it on the market.

Unless my memory is off, double XP doesn't apply to the AE anyway. Nor would I say that people running the ITF nonstop is somehow "out in the world".

If an overwhelming majority of the populace is speed-running TFs, then yes, I am being forced to "get 2x merits" if I'd like to actually have a team. Moreover, if this is supposed to some kind of scheme to draw people back to the game, then I don't really think I want the kind of people back who are only concerned about amassing ludicrous amounts of merits.

Edit: And to be clear here, I'm not exactly concerned with being burdened with merits. I'm concerned with the normal flow of the game and teaming being disrupted.

Sounds like you need to make more in game friends if the only thing you can do to team is what random people enjoy.

It's like saying the massive AE exploiting was causing people to exploit AE for a team.

No, I do not have some massive network of folks at my beck and call, hence why I rely on PUGs. I even take a stab at leading them now and again. But if all of the PUGs were doing TFs, and everyone else was waiting to get on a TF team, I can't exactly be choosy, huh?

Um...in a way, yes? A large part of the problem with the AE abuse was that newer players were getting sucked into it to the point where they thought that was the entire game, because AE teams were making up at least 90% of the teaming activity in Atlas Park.

Were there non-AE teams? Oh, sure. Though I largely suspect they were being run by people that knew better. A bit different from a weekend where the devs themselves implicitly promote running nothing but TFs.

It's not like it will completely screw up the game. I'm sure TFs will be run more but I'm sure you can find a few people to team with you. I'm not a market expert but I think adding double merits to double xp weekend would help prevent the market screw-up that occurs during 2x xp weekends.
