[Attention RPers] Vampire: The Masquerade RPSG
I have a question about this SG.
How do you handle them, walking around in daylight? Interacting with cyborgs, werewolves, catgirls, or just plain old superheroes?
I mean I could make a claws/Fire Armor Scrapper, call it a Gangrel with the Body of Fire discipline.
I could say the Lasombra has points in Theurmaturgy (sp?) and thus can throw fireballs.

2: Other things exist in WoD than Vampires.
3: Study thine Disciplines and You tell Me. Also, I think throwing fireballs and Fire Blast power set are two separate things...
I would say that you would have to get in line behind all the other WoD groups on Virtue.
The line starts around the block. No, keep going, into the alley.
Also, at very first whisper of White Wolf/WOTC getting on NCSoft's case for allowing their IP in another game? ... it would be bad. It's one thing to run something "like" WoD, but when you use their IP as part of your lore/sg site/virtueverse pages, you're stepping on someone's trademark. The petitions would roll in, the CS reps in India with no clue other than a quick Google search would start generic'ing people... not fun.
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
I haven't seen any WoD SG's that are
1: Active
2: Professional/Mature
3: Not filled with Emo kids/Twilight fans. (See #2)
The wiki isn't owned by WhiteWolf I don't believe. The only WoD concept we're Really using is the Clans/Sects. It's not like I'm linking people to WoD character sheets or telling them to list their disciplines per se.
Souls trying to be polite , we get lots of Vampire WOD groups here they grow , split , die , respawn under new names etc etc they never end well .
I wish you the best of luck but I wouldn't expect a big out pouring of support for the concept here ...well no more than if you decided to create a 300 based sg of spartans .
xD 300 SG... Great uniforms..
And I appreciate the advice, but it's all been said and done before..
Also, I put this same posting in several places.. I don't need a big outpour from Virtue, I need a big outpour from CoX!
The big thing though is that you could get into a bit of a jam over using the White Wolf names. The fact that you are saying 'We're using the path system from Vampire and we're using the Houses and lore therein attached to' is enough to get you into hot water. Again, this is a 'could' and not a 'I know you'll get the boot for this!' Plenty of things get overlooked but... its pretty hard to overlook things when there's a bold forum post about it that you can be linked, too.
The other thing about the wiki though is that wiki's strictly state they don't own anything. Technically speaking CoX owns everything ingame and they have the right to go 'nener nener nener you're being a twit' and take it away and if you have a 'V:TM character' complete with all the citations as to the house and path on it... well, I don't think I need to explain that CoX doesn't own anything by White Wolf.
"The Malkavians aren't Mind Controllers"
I beg your what pardon Dementation?
Or heck, ignoring the antitribu... they still have access to Domination.
The Elysienne; Magical controller
Silent Sickle; Natural scrapper
And many more.
Aenigma Rebis: "Actually, Ely's more like Jean Grey. Only... smart."

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I could possibly get into this, I've been hoping to recreate my Melee focused Gangrel from the game. However, I too feel that a SG/VG like this will follow the same formula as the others do. :/

Not being a huge tabletop Role-playing geek... isn't it Vampire: the Requiem?
That's the current edition, Tokyo. Which changed a lot of the rules (and is not as good in my opinion). V:tM is the older version of the rules, so it identifies the clans and how they operate, as well as appropriate powers.
SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.

3) But there's no other way to explain Path of Fire, than say Fire Blast.
Sorry, just asking, as I was tempted Been in one before, sadly it didn't really get started (like the many previous posters have mentioned).

i live on Protecter and i can tell you that at least 2 sg's were told to change the name of there sgs(dont know how they did it) because their names were taken from something in vamp mas. so i think as long as you dont include to much detail about that other rpg you should be fine( i was in that sg lol was annoyed that it had to be changed)

They are coming out with a World of Darkness MMORPG I thought?

That's what I heard.
Not sure if it's still in the works or was cancelled.
A quick google of "World of Darkness MMO" gave me a bunch of articles based on rumor and theory. Nothing concrete.
The last thread that I remember on this topic in the Virtue forum included such sentiments that indeed such a MMO was coming soon and that it would be "good riddance" to that particular sector of the RP community.
While I have no desire to join that particular group, I harbor no such level of animosity.
Certain premises that I read in the old Vampire and Werewolf books kind of fly in the face of CoH canon, though. Like civilians being unaware that Vampires and Werewolves exist. (Heck, we see them on street corners urging us to join the Council) Or that in the face of such critters, mere mortals would be petrified and unable to process the information. Closest thing we have is the NPCs running about in the /flail_arms emote from the Council, and singing our praises if we as a Vampire/Werewolf/Ghost PC complete a mission.

It's not that big of a deal, I guess. It's just that it reminds me of people who play Mutant origin characters and make thier bios sound as if there is a government/society crackdown/hunt/hatred of Mutants, ala the X-Men comics.
There just isn't.
Heck, there's a section in Paragon City Hall dedicated to helping lowbie Mutant heroes get started in thier careers. Or at least shuffle them off towards thier choice of the AE, the Sewers or thier first Story Arc contact.
Until such time as a WoD MMO opens up and whisks them away from here, thier $15/mo can fund new content that I enjoy. And I can gently ignore thier bios and thier personal storylines where they cross the line of making/not making sense with the world around them. As I once said in the D, "I've got laser-shooting spider arms welded to my spine, and I'm not the wierdest one here."
Well, that's not entirely true, it says when you pick the mutant origin that while most of the world is pretty indifferent to mutants as an origin there are some people who fear them.
I mean, just check the paragonwiki page for it:
'You were born with abilities which set you apart from the rest of humankind. Your powers manifested at birth, puberty, or possibly adulthood. Mutants are often viewed with awe and fear by those who don't understand them. ... '
I remembered it being worded differently but it gives the basic jist of it. Some people are like 'omg wtf is that its changing its unstable rawr' that is standard fair. Now, I don't think people should really be all 'ALL TEH HUMIES HATEZ ME CUZ I R DIFFERENTY MUTANT RAWR' but like... in the case of my mutant scrapper, he got the snott kicked out of him as a kid growing up in rural Appalachia because well... if there's one thing that backwards hillfolk hate its something that is different and fuzzy beast-boy is generally not normal. Now, He'd figured out not everyone is like that and its why he moved to Paragon, He's pretty much normal there.

They said the Mutant description says they are feared. But I couldn't find one thing in the game that showed mutants as being feared.
In fact, all the mutant heroes usually get their name in papers, and everyone loves them.

Mutants seem to be the MOST accepted of the hero types in Paragon, and it seems the only people who arent as accepted are Kheldians/Aliens. After all, there are "Earth for Humans" bilboards all over the place.

My Crab acts that way all the time. He met a Mutant who could throw fire and called him a freak, all while cocking a crab arm back into place.

Dear Virtue:
I am a recent immigrant from Infinity, (Still moving!) and am bringing along my old SG concept, a Multi-Clan/Sect World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade RPSG 'Kindred Nocturnis.' Right now it is limited to Hero side, with plans for expansion, though. The potential is great for a well developed and mature group, however, finding the Mature, intelligent, and dedicated personnel for it is a different story, so I'm reaching out across Coalitions and Servers for players genuinely interested. Especially being that server transfers are free, it's certainly considerable. For those who consider making new toons specifically for it, money can be provided for your basic needs. Please, note that membership requires an Application and is only intended for those players 18 years of age or older. Any clan/sect is acceptable, however, we're not looking for simpletons or God-modded characters from the 2nd Generation, etc., nor will everyone be a Lord or Lady overnight.
For those not well versed in it, I can provide informations and links. For those of you are, PDF files are available to refresh your memory or research story lines. Researching disciplines and paths.
Please note that Kheldians aren't permitted, and power-sets must be limited to the abilities of the Clan in which your character is apart of. Exampli Gratia: Gangrel aren't Samurai Defenders, The Malkavians aren't Mind Controllers, Lasombra aren't Fire Blasters, Nosferatu aren't beautiful blonds in tuxedos or dressed, etc., And last but not least, No vampires are demon/cyborg/ninja/mages!
http://wiki.white-wolf.com/worldofda...The_Masquerade
Please have a sensible storyline, Applications can be received after making initial contact, @Doomstadt, or on Virtue as "Marcel de Bourges." If you find that I am beyond contacting, you can write me an E-mail at: darknesssapphire@yahoo.com Or an in-game e-mail would be fine as well. List the subject as 'Kindred Nocturnis,' the SG's name. If you participate in such an SG contact me as well! Coordinating and Combining is the solution to limited number of players. Please spread the word about this to those who might be interested. Note: Spelling and Grammar are a must..
*'Kuen-Jin,' or Kindred of the East are also acceptable!
*'Ghouls,' 'Herds,' and 'Dolls,' (Any subjugated Humans doing the bidding of Vampires, also serving as blood farms.) are also acceptable!
