Similar to the term "WoW-Tards" when disdainfully refering to players of a certain MMO.
Forgive, I've been gone for three months or so. Wasn't there a Bleach themed SG on freedom or something? Where they ever shut down or warned by the GMs or Devs? If not it might mean that taking setting info might not be as frowned upon as blatantly making rips of characters.
I've always considered the idea of dragging an outside property into an unrelated MMOG to be pretty damn lame.
Go make your own ideas instead of parroting someone elses.
At the very least, gothic horror was nifty long, long before White Wolf ever existed. Go make a 'gothic horror' SG instead.

I see myself as witty, urbane, highly talented, hugely successful with a keen sense of style. Plus of course my own special brand of modesty.

Got into this talk with my SG just the other day.
They said the Mutant description says they are feared. But I couldn't find one thing in the game that showed mutants as being feared. In fact, all the mutant heroes usually get their name in papers, and everyone loves them. |
Well, This is where you'll find it: Make a new character. Select the Mutant Description and read it. That's the only ingame reference to them being feared... Maybe thier starting missions but... I can't recall any of those? Otherwise, no, they are treated like every other hero plus, those anti-alien posters are pretty much anti-Rikti from what I gathered, not anti-Kheldian.
I have sometimes joked that characters of the Mutant origin should have their "Powers:" tab replaced with "My Gift, My Curse:".
But that's more a poke at Claremont and his love of certain tired stock phrases.

The way I've often approached mutant stigma and etc etc etc is that the norm for outside of Paragon City is your usual angsty mistrust and so forth. I figure most people in Paragon City are waaaaaaaaaay over that by now. What with the Rikti and all.
And depending on the character, the whole "Earth for Humans" thing can go from "bad wording" to "you f---------b------ssh----ph----iftc---rrrrftftft------pp-----eric bigots."
The Elysienne; Magical controller
Silent Sickle; Natural scrapper
And many more.
Aenigma Rebis: "Actually, Ely's more like Jean Grey. Only... smart."
I approach it the same way. Chances are you're not going to run into a mutant in the butt end of like... Pennsylvania and chances are if a mutant does run through there they're gunna get the 'freak' 'mutie' treatment. Its actually the backstory for my mutant scrapper. he was a mutant that grew up in the backwoods Appalachia and was drove out of town for being different. Lived in the woods for a few years and when he heard about how people with mutant powers are treated as heroes in Paragon City bought a ticket and never looked back.
I would like to issue a plea on behalf of Paragon's diminutive protectors, please watch where you step. We're four feet tall in a six foot tall world, we've been cast adrift in a sea of butts. -Pillbug

Though I was always under the impression that the whole world suffered from Rikti, not just Paragon.
Also figured the Rikti is what keeps mutants from being hated in the game.
Basically substitute one hatred for another.
Then of course, if the Rikti get fulled repelled, people start hating the mutants again. Old fears resurfacing.

The BrandX Collection
there was an oWoD themed super-loosely confederated group of villaingroups on this server a couple years ago. after a lot of god-modding and other drama, they died out.
As far as the WoD MMO goes... I can't name my sources, so feel free to accept or disregard this statement based wholly on your personal opinions of me, but it's vaporware. It's deader than Duke Nukem. It's been considerably more than a year since any resources were applied to developing the idea, and even when they were still planning on it they were mired in the concept art stage.
Part of the problem is that the New WoD has just never caught on to the same degree that the Old WoD did. A lot of people at White Wolf really really wish they'd jumped on the MMO bandwagon back during the few years when the Old WoD was consistently matching or exceeding D&D's share of the market, but none of them can talk themselves into putting out an MMO based on a property that's been out of print for nearly a decade, no matter how awesomely popular it used to be.
