best combination for solo leveling?
Planing to make new corruptor and I am not sure which power sets to choose.
In your opinion which combination would be best for solo leveling both in lower and higher levels (not planing any sets till lvl 50). So far I have fire/cold - great in teams but very slow by her self and ice/kin - pain to solo on lower levels but getting better in her 30's . Any suggestions? |
I have a Rad/Kin and had an experience similar to your ice/kin, though I would have thought it would be easier to solo given the hold and slows.
Ice/Dark or Sonic/Dark are probably the safest. Not very fast, though, if you're planning to bump up the number of virtual teammates.

I like energy/pain. Once you get soothing aura, combined with the knockback of energy, you'll gonna be a mini tank (as long as you can keep knocking stuff back).

Some Established Villains:
Father McKenzie - Fire/Dark, Voltage Adapter - Elec/Nin
Some Established Heroes:
Sous Chef - DB/WP, Frost Advisory - Ice/Kin, Papa Xmas - Ice/FF, Bubbe - Sonic/Kin, Redeker Plan - Arch/Dev, Dr. Duplicitous - Ill/Kin
Another Fire/Dark vote. Nothing is more fun than melting a group of baddies from around a corner using ROF & Tar Patch.

Fire/dark! Absolute murder. It's one of those combos that starts off great and only gets better from there. I would assume sonic/dark is great too, less AoE but also way easier on the ol' blue bar, with the addition of -res to help out your -dam due to some oddball mechanics.
Sonic/Dark here. Fire Dark is nice but in the early levels it will OWN you end wise.
I have to admit Dark is a solid secondary to solo with period.
I'm voting for Fire/Storm. While it lacks the self-heal and pet of /dark, you get a similar but superior tar patch esque power in Freezing Rain. You can slot that with a -res proc, giving a number of enemies in your debuff an even greater smackdown. It also comes with a big -def debuff which will be a great help in being able to hit higher level enemies. The knockdown is just icing on the cake, making it even hard for your foes to escape. You also get access to hurricane, which is just plain awesome in the right situations. Lightning Cloud has awesome graphics and adds a lot of damage, and Tornado is a good chaos power.
However, /dark is still probably the safer solo set but not quite as offensive as /storm. Your massive debuffs, Fearsome Stare, your own heal, plus everything dark servant does will be able to keep you alive against most anything.
For primaries, fire sonic or ice.
For secondaries, rad dark or storm.
Any such combo will be pretty awesome solo.
Ice/dark/mu. Hands down
Two pets and power sink to fix blizzard crash
Dark has tons of control and debuff auto hitmag 2 stun stout self/pbaoe heal, mine haels for 444 about every r secs
If your patient /Traps is pretty good solo. Yes it takes time and a confuse can ruin your day but the joy of luring EB's into a mine field and watching them asplode is awesome.
I think I'm the 8th vote for Fire/Dark. It's truly a fun and beautiful set.
I have to get more character slots (or to transfer Warshade to German server ), because now I am thinking of making 2 corruptors.
I enjoy playing support, but it is so much easier finding teams on blue side than on red, so I have to look for one that can survive on her own.
My next project will be fire/dark for soloing, but I am also thinking of making sonic/rad corruptor - not sure how good that combination would be solo, but -res and - def would help team a lot (and I hope that my friends will return when GR is out and that more people will come, since red side on EU servers look deserted now ).

Yeah yeah fire blast is good damage but there is zero mitigation unless you count the fear effect of rain of fire. Ice has two holds, and a -to hit in it's strongest attack plus every attack does -recharge and -speed. The fact that ice blast does slow opens up more frankenslotting possibilities. Sure Ice lacks fireball but it's nuke is much much better. You can drop blizzard out of line of sight and it can critical (scourge) alot more than inferno.
If you're soloing you probably want better single target damage anyway. Ice has that.
I think Sonic/Kin, with enough skill, can be a really fun solo machine.
You can self-buff yourself for almost any attribute.

I think I'm ninething fire/dark I just so entertaining! from my point of view.
I do think Ice/Dark is uber....but it Takes SOOOO long for it to really shine I think. Unless you're one of those people who craft stuff early. With my toon end was a BIG issue until I slotted some sets.
Even with only SO's that toon was deadly though! My fav is getting right up to the mish boss and sneaking around the corner to...Tar Patch+Build Up+Ice Storm+Blizzard. This combo is so redonkulous that you find yourself fiending for the nuke and screaming at it to recharge!
Also You feel a lot like a controller you bring so much to the team as an Ice/Dark I felt much like a controller with my slows, fear, and perma holds.
