Does anyone RP on this server?
Anyone? Well the odds are in favor of yes. Will you find them? That's where your odds take a nosedive I'm afraid.
Quite frankly my experience has been folks on Victory inquiring about RP are usually directed to Virtue. You are still VERY welcome to play here, but I can't say to expect to find many RPers here.
Note for technical accuracy and completeness of answer we do have MRP folks, but not in any greater number than most other servers. (Yeah Virtue "wins" there too.)
We have a LOT of great things to recommend Victory, just not our RPing population.
YMMV.
It's not how many times you get knocked down that count. It's how many times you get up.
As much as I would like to say sure come on over. Victory just is not very RP friendly.
It's more of the low population power gamer server.
I will however point you towards a group of players on the Justice server. They are RP friendly and good friends of mine.
The Star Patrol(blue side)/Nova Dominion(redside) and their respective coalitions are always looking for members.
www.star-patrol.net has all the contact information.
one of the leaders, Bloodspeaker, is also on the forums. click on his name to get in contact with him via the forums.

Maybe we could change that and get some more. People might just need some encouragement. There are a few rpers around, including myself but yeah it is usaully a rare occurance to run into one. But no more hard to find than any server apart from virtue i imagine. I always thought everyone on the server was too friendly to be powergamers.
I generally respond to it okay when I have run into it (though I'd steer clear of a catgirl talking about her favorite catnip...). Heh, I had fun needling a villain that was roleplaying on my RWZ story arc team, as he expressed trepidation on teaming with heroes.
And really, it would probably work, especially if you wanted to get a roleplay group going (meet a night every week, etc.). Doesn't Madame Pistachio have that villain group every Thursday that roleplays (or is that just a themed SG, can't recall). No matter what, I think you'd get some takers for that... I think a lot of people are cool with roleplay when they can be ready for it... as other times they might just want to get on, beat up some guys, and shoot the breeze with their friends or SG.

I RP quite a bit.
Err wait, no.. That's just cybering. Nevermind...
<sigh> Viv says its no longer "all me".

The RP circles I use to run with have fizzled and all but dies, unfortunately. It is out there, but finding it may be difficulty.
http://www.victoryrp.com is still up and running, but no activity in quite a while

I personally think a character isn't worth rolling up if you don't intend to RP him/her at least a little. When I have RPed, it actually caught people by surprise (my mechanical villian speaking in computerspeak seemed to tickle people when I did it). Unfortunately, many players of ORPGs have no experience or understanding of what RP is or how to do it.
For myself, I prefer to RP. I think it brings depth to what are otherwise cardboard digital characters.
Those who think Truth is relative haven't had a Tank land on their car.
If we are role playing villains, wouldn't every other sentence be "Why the hell are we doing this again?" or "how is this villainy?" :P

Or you could just have all your characters be Hippies or old men so you can blame it on being stoned or alzheimers.
That is part of the role play. Pretending you don't notice those things, or finding reasons why it does not matter.

But that's not the only approach. For my stalker, he's a mercenary- if they pay him enough, he'll take care of it. But even then, he has some principles. When one of the low level story arcs asked him to kidnap a bunch of hobos and poison them with toxic sludge he turned around and walked away.

Or your villain isn't a sadomasochistic like some people seem to wish for with villain content. "Diet Coke of Evil" is about all most players can stand to play. I once made myself play through as a bad jedi in KOTR, and I never will again... I really did feel dirty doing most of the stuff you have to to be evil in that one.

You know, I have posted a thread on several of the other server sections, and this is the first server to actually be civil about Roleplaying. I am won over by the general comments and am very pleased. I believe I have found a new home and will be bringing my main over to this server effective immediately.
Just for those that would like to know, I will be on Redside primarily, as my main in a villain. But I do plan on playing a BlueSide toon from time to time.
ADDED
My redside character name is Syns. Or you can add me globally at @Savarius
On top of everything else, I also have my own Internet Radio station where I was thinking about doing some Podcasts or Videocasts of CoX, or dedicate a show or 10 to whatever server I decided to play on. And after speaking with a lot of individuals in game, Victory is the new home.

Moodswing, I don't know what you wish for in villainy, but I've seen more than one poster wish for more villain content like Westin Phipps. No thank you to more missions that let you poison food for kids that makes them blind, is my response to that.
Shout out for what you want, I was just reacting to what I've seen others post before. I kind of feel like robbing banks, helping people destroy their souls, etc. are villainlike enough, but maybe you're more annoyed with the co-op content? I can kind of understand that, I guess.

As I haven't played in a while (but might find time over my two weeks of Xmas vacation...?), I wasn't going to reply, but...
...there used to be a small but vigorous RP community on Victory. If indeed it has declined (and/or the more enthusiastic players have moved on) that's sad. (Edit: Nice to see Calash still around, though )
I agree that some degree of RP'ing - even if limited to consistent character concept/design - is vital to this game. And this applies to the villain side, as well.
If you are Rping a villain, keep in mind: villains often don't think that they are "villians" - just that their world view/code makes sense and everyone else's doesn't. Some villains might think killing kittens is all good in the pursuit of their goals - others might not. But it's all part of the fun.

Going WAAAY back we use to have 2-3 independant groups that would, very rarely, interact on occasions. I never followed the other groups so they may still be around someplace.

LOL@ImpulseKing
You just made my day even brighter.
Myself and two very close friends of mine RP on Vic, and I just started to rp a bit with Novamaiden up there. soo there are a few of us
I'm looking for a new server to call home, and my only requirement is that there is a decent, not great amount of RP. I've been on Virtue for a long time now, and with the free transfers, I'm looking for a new home.
