Fire/kin trouble!

Alright, I made a fire/kin like everbody and their dads did. Im doing fine farming, not dieing often. But the main problem is that I must not be putting out enough dmg, so baddies dont drop as fast as I would like. Here is my build, let me know any info. Feel free to post new builds, or tweak mine and see if you cant make something happen. Thanks

Aight, this is what I currently run with. Just use plain SOs, =) made life cheaper.

As I'm sure you can see, its really only build to farm S/L enemies... like Battle Maiden's minions. The only weakness I see is getting stunned from time to time.. so I cary break free's at all times.

I do wonder how you can survive without Flashfire...
What was the set bonus that you were working towards, perma hasten? positional defense? ... kinda looked like you went everywhere in terms of bonuses.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

I second the motion. Why can't people read what has already been said about fire/kins? Surely, the OP would have realized how important Flashfire is if he/she had done any reading first.

The only time I say you wouldn't need Flashfire is if you have a high defense Fire/Kin/Earth build. Even then I wouldn't skip it if you plan on doing anything else but farming.

For example my old Fire/Psi Dom pre-i15 didn't need to use Flashfire while farming, was just a waste of time when the mob died before they could do any damage, although I still had it in my build. I mean c'mon Flashfire + Firecages is your bread and butter control.

No Flashfire, no Speed Boost, no Cinders, no room on my teams.

Okay, okay, Cinders is debateable. But Flashfire is absolutely not. I also recommend all firekins who make them for farming at least have a team build with SOs or generic IOs that does have Speed Boost.

I mean, its a single power selection that works perfectly with just the base slot, adds tremendously to any team, for a build that is far from tight. But eh, whatcha gonna do.

Agreed, Flashfire is a must. I would also recommend Cinders. You will need some decent recharge bonuses for Flashfire to be up for each mob as you decimate them faster and faster. Cinders is a good back up for what cannot be stunned or if Flashfire hasn't recharged. Containment damage rules.

Normally I: Flashfire/Firecage a mob, FS, and Fireball away. They go down pretty quick.

I'm not wild about Psionic Mastery for a fire/kin troller. Mainly because I don't care much for the animination time of Psionic Tornado. I think Fire and Earth are the epics of choice for most fire/kin farmers for fast recharging AoE's.

(P.S. When I used to farm on blueside with my Fire/Kin I still managed to fit in SB for team play in the build. Food for thought.)

Obliteration isn't good in Hot Feet, you want more endurance reduction. My hotfeet is 2 Acc/End/Dam and 4 damage procs. 42% acc, dam, and end. A full Fulcrum Shift gets you 250% damage and the cap is 300% so it's almost damage capped.

Alright I know you guys are saying... "He dont have FlashFire or Cinders". I posted the post to see some Ideas. I dont need FF nor cinders, I pwn a full map of warriors lvl 53 +8 team size. I can run a map within 17-23 mins. So for the person who said "Im tired of seeing crapy builds blah blah blah" its defiently not crappy ok. I can pwn in farming and Pvp at the sametime and not get bored. Flashfire is for newb non experienced players that havnt played a fire/kin before. But ill let you keep talking. I have plent of people on freedom that tell me im a crazy farm. Also I charge 10mill and get a team of 4 easly. Well with that said, thanks and have a nice day. Smoke the tweed one in awhile, it will calm your nerves! Bahahaha

Keep the comedy coming!

First off, no one cares if you "pwn" stuff on a farm. Here's a hint: farms are *supposed* to be easy. A SO-only Fire/Kin can get around the same time against the same mob type, so obviously your investment hasn't improved your build much...if at all. Further since they have flashfire, they won't die as much.

You're taking flames largely because if you did a modicum of research on this forum, you'd find out that there are tons of fire/kin builds and discussions that have taken place, and they would've answered your question without making you a laughingstock. You wouldn't even have to do a search, there are literally the same fire/kin discussions on the first page...many more on the second and third.

Second, who's the newb? If you want me to point out the obvious:

1. Who posted a crappy farm fire/kin build without flashfire?
2. Who actually takes on fillers nowadays when farming and have the chance of losing out on purple drops?
3. Who doesn't understand fire/kin mechanics and slot out hotfeet with a set with only 18% (assuming level 50 IOs) end reduction and has a build with a whopping 1.3 end/sec cost (an end/sec that rivals that of some badly built dark armor characters).

Third, I'll tell exactly why your build doesn't do enough damage. Because your build is an endurance pig, has poor mitigation (no AoE mezzes, negligible defense), you're spending the bulk of your time healing and recovering back endurance instead of killing stuff. It's really that simple.

I'll say it again. Your build *IS* crappy. And by coming back here and defending it, you're just making yourself look worse. I look forward to further replies from you telling exaggerated (fabricated?) stories of how you "pwn" stuff and how we're all unknowledgable newbs.

Ok, now that I'm done laughing, I'll post my build. Maybe you can take some things away from it. Not saying its "Teh Bestest" build out there, but it works great vs everything I've farmed and I dont plan on ever changing it.

However, I wouldnt use this build outside of farming. Like Silas said, you really need to have speed boost/Increase Density if you team....which is why a second build is quite handy even if it just has SOs.

***NOTE*** I currently have the Touch of the Nictus set in transfusion instead of the Doc Wounds. I found it not very reliable w/o the Accurate Healing set in there.

And dont worry about the end cost of hotfeet. If you have a solid attack chain, you'll be hitting Transference w/o any worries of your end bottoming out.

See this is where people will just call you out. No reliable mez, no soft-capped defense on anything, terrible slotting on hotfeet. I'd almost pay the 10 mil to see the face-planting in action. Will you accept Virtue dollars?

A lot of things that I could pick in there to go after but I will just remind you that you came here asking for build advice and probably didn't look at any of the other 100 posts for Fire/Kin(I have one Bookmarked that I have been following, and then when I have trouble at least I was following the right road map), that is why the main posters here get tired of rate my fire/Kin, help with my Fire/Kin posts that haven't followed any type of plan which has been laid out over and over and over and over and ooooovvvvveeeeerrrrr I mean reeheheheaaaallllllyyy (going for a Doctor Cox rant there(Scrubs reference))

This is what I use. A super cheap s/l capped build.

while some people here my be apalled by the end cost of running all the toggles required to play softcapped, I pretty much consider that a null worry. Yeah, I have to hit transference once per mob or two; but if you don't have downs syndrome you're gonna be popping insps like a mad man as you go, hence yeah... not an issue.

Though on most days I would agree, I think if he was found a build that he can use then let him be, just because he doesn't have a build that everyone else has makes no difference. Something that I've heard a lot lately is, don't hate the leader, hate the followers.

As for the Ops question, I would rework the hot feet slotting and maybe rework nado too. if you want more speed, more damage per sec is needed. Taking another look I see you didn't slot cages for damage at all. Since your focusing on DoT with nado, hot feet, and cages, slot them for as much damage per sec as possible.

I agree the OP has the right to do whatever. But, they came on the boards to ask for feedback on the build and when they got it they apparantely didn't like the answers and continued to say how uber the build already was.

Okay downs who think flashfire is essential on a FARMING only fire/kin build's are hillarious.

Also i'm surprised you all thinking slotting a set on hot feet is good stuff, it really really really really really really isn't. You wanna slot all 5 dmg procs (1 from the slow) and 1 end reduction. Get over it a good fire/kin farmer should have transference up atleast every 8 seconds. and I slot dmg procs in hot feet because your DMG is capped through FS. extra DMG from the procs makes a lot more sense people.

Second frankenslot fire cages for 2 DMG procs and then end/acc/immob.

and barrier is right you're farming, insps are gonna drop, build a bridge get over the end, and pop the damn insps.

This is the build I use for my fire/kin/psy... I invite you to come watch me farm on the freedom server WITHOUT flashfire or cinders. Lol people who say you have to have flashfire, please believe me when I say that they are complete noobs when they come to farming.
