Winter skiing and runspeed?
That's pretty good I was going at it with ninja run on and seemed to be flying past some best time I managed was 50.5 seconds or so.
Thank you.
Correct, Inertia Reduction is more helpful than anything else on the ski slopes. Super Speed and/or Speed Boost only has a limited effect on how fast you start yourself off the start line because it's the only flat spot you encounter. The rest of the time you are technically falling.
Combat/Super Jumping has "air control" as well, and I can get gold with just SJ, even though I never jump. Using one IR, I can get down to about 41s.. and with stacked IRs I get it down to about 37 or 38.. this is without any type of runspeed buff whatsoever, and even with a runspeed buff, it doesn't really change my time more than a quarter second at most.
My friend did a 49 second run with IR with Walk toggled on. So no, don't think run speed does anything.

Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

I was passing 50's using SuperSpeed with a 28 using Ninja Run. Such makes me chuckle.
Anyways, in order to get Gold on the Mega-Slope... you'll actually have to be level 30 or higher. The ski-slope speed is pretty much tied to your jumping speed. At 28 my jump speed is somewhere around 65mph... and that's enough to turn in a near-50 second run... but if you screw up anywhere... and no chance. I think 30 is the breaking point when the jump speed cap is high enough to turn in a 49, 50 second run without having to be completely perfect.
The original badge slope is a bit more forgiving. I think even level 15's may have a shot at getting in a gold on that slope with Ninja run, although I haven't tried it.
With the downhill course (Expert Slope) I can easily get Gold with Ninja Run and Sprint on a level 50.
With that same level 50 on the Advanced Slop (the toboggan - bobsled - skelton - luge track), I tried these two tactics (since I didn't have SuperJump):
- Ninja Run + Sprint + Run Empowerment + Jump Empowerment + Accelerated Metabolism
- SuperSpeed + Sprint + Run Empowerment + Jump Empowerment + Accelerated Metabolism
And even running a perfect course (no bumping or stalls), I couldn't break the 53 second barrier.
Then, when someone gave me Inertial Reduction, got the Gold on the Advanced Course.
Lesson: If you don't have SuperJump or IR, you're not getting the Advanced Slope Gold.

Got my gold last year with CJ and SB. (No matter how many times I tried to sneak past the dirty SBers, they always got me. SB doesn't help on the luge, knock it off!!!)

Edit:
Looking at the numbers, it actually looks like CJ might give a better MovementControl rating than SJ does... interesting.
My kin with IR and CJ cant stay on the track long enough to get good times
.
Human error i know.

Run speed does matter, but only if you bump the sides. It decreases the amount that you will be slowed down by that.

I see a lot of people begging for SB or using SS on the ski slopes, but I just got a 49.25 with just IR...and walk was on. Am I correct in that run speed has no effect on skiing?
