Best scrapper build for farming?
Spines/Dark is a classic, and Spines/Fire can put out a little more damage at the cost of a little less survivability. If you want something more survivable, Electric/Shield is said to be excellent as well. Claws does decent AoE, but doesn't really compare to Spines if you're taking Fire or Dark as your secondary, and won't work with Shields.
I can't remember if damage auras crit, but I think the answer is "no".

Elec/Shield
yea elec/shield [Build Up] + [Shield Charge] + [Lightning Rod] = Pile of dead guys.
(offtopic but a ss/fire brute farms nice[fury good]Once you hit 32 you can farm yourself to 50)
I will have to agree with the above posts, Elec / Shield is absolutely a mob demolisher and i would have to say the way i would go if i was going to build a farming scrapper.
I do not believe damage auras crit.
Also, on a seperate note has anyone ever seen "shield charge" crit. I have not or at least as far as i can tell, so was just curious.
Scrapper 50's:
Claws / Willpower
Fire / Fire
Spines / Regen
Elec / Shield
Excellent! TYVM! I will now try to pick between Spines/Dark and Electric/Shield. Hmm, does anyone have pros and cons between the two?
For the spines/dark I know it is end heavy, but I have miracle recovery, numina recovery, shifter chance for + end to put in him also. I just know for /shields you need a very specific build don't you to soft cap defense? Or something like that?

It's not that damage auras don't crit, it's that secondary power set powers don't crit. I'm pretty sure that Quills, a damage aura in a primary, *CAN* crit.

Quills does critical, secondaries do not critical. Electric/Shield will probably be really good with some recharge bonuses, I have a spines/dark that does well for farming.
Pros for Electric/Shield: Massive burst AoE damage
Cons: Expensive to be really survivable
Pros for Spines/Dark: Lots of AoE over time, slows so the enemy can't get away as quickly, has dark regeneration
Cons: Very endurance hungry, not as beginner friendly as some combinations, not as nearly as survivable as Electric/Shield

Do you guys think a Elec/Shield scrapper would be a better farmer than a Shield/Elec tanker?
"I have always been a fan of science fiction. It all started when my parents forced me to go to church when I was a child."
Yes, it used to be that Lightning Rod and Shield Charge produced the same amount of damage irregardless of the arch type but they changed it so the AT damage modifiers affect attacks like Lightning Rod and Shield Charge so now scrappers do a lot more damage than tankers. Almost 50% more

Excellent, tyvm. I will go with elec/shield then. I have been wanting to try shields on something, so I suppose a scrapper will do fine! I will look for a build somewhere here to softcap or whatever I should do.

electric/shield... not even close. Electric/shield scrapper is arguably the best farmer in the game.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
If anyone has a good build for elec/sd for farming and defense cap let me know.

Right now, I prefer my Spines/WP to my Electric/Shield for farming. I usually farm the Roman wall or AEs. The Spines/WP can farm the Roman wall non-stop, and defense crashes do not faze her. The Electric/Shield still needs a tad more recharge before her nukes and Build Up are going to be up for every spawn; working on that now.

i am currently farming with my EM/SD.outdoor freakshow map set to 8 with no bosses.buildup, both nukes and everything is dead.
i then move to the second group and lightningclap them(1 acc,1 forced feedback proc).they usually have un-stunned and swarmed around me again right as the rezed from the last group show up and my nukes recharge.then the vicious cycle begins anew.
Maybe I should look into one of these, then. I'm enjoying my Katana/Dark kill speed in groups compared to all my single-target specialists, but from the Cats Hour Challenge 2, I know that true farmers kill almost three times faster than me. Hell, BillZBubba's Claws/Super Reflexes kills over twice as fast as me, if I recall. I have a Spines/Dark stalled out at 44 because I somehow just can't get into it. I can't seem to get into other archetypes either, so I don't see myself picking up a Fire/Kin. Maybe I need an Electric Melee/Shield Defense. It might be nice to actually own a farmer for once. How's it for leveling up?

I farm with a fire/shield/blaze scrapper and am able to get to the 25-26M/hour benchmark in a hour's worth of casual farming (chatting, taking breaks). I think the build is more flexible than an electric shield largely because it has a better single target attack chain, which is a non-factor while farming, but anything but when taken outside of a farm.

I am looking for a Scrapper farming build? I am wondering what people think? I am considering Spines, Claws or Electric for my primary and For secondary I am considering Fire, Dark and Shield. If you offer your opinion please explain why you think one set is better than another. Thank you.
Another question I have is do damage auras have a chance to crit also or just normal attacks?
