Ninja run in powerset customization
I would sincerely love this option.
I like NR, but I already have developed another nice way of getting around.
I really like the NR animations etc. Pairing the NR animations with my current powers would be a wonderful option
Signing the hell out of this suggestion!!

While I don't expect to see a paid-for animation make it into the game without people crying foul (regrettably), this does open the door to movement power customization. I would very, very much like to see something along those lines. Not necessarily the Ninja Run, but alternate run and jump styles nonetheless.
So, yeah. Signed.

for this idea, go into a pvp zone NR already has super jump attributes cause of a bug, I would love to be able to give just the flip animation to characters with super jump.
NR rocks on its own and is a free(free as in no power choices needed to get it) power giving people the cool flips and run to use for SJ and SS animations does nothing but add more variety for the game which I'm all for.

You did note that the OP says (paraphrased) "only available if you have the Martial Arts pack", right? I would guess not, by your wording. So no, a paid-for animation wouldn't make it into the game for free, you'd still have to pay for the pack to use it as an alternate animation for stuff.

In essence, whether or not it's Ninja Run in particular, I'd like to see the system utilised to give us alternate stances and run and jump styles as a game feature, not as additional Sprint powers.

I have a feeling that you'll see the NR animation (without the speed/leap boost) along with several others in the next round of powerset customization for pools.

On a similar, but opposite note, I'd love to be able to customize the animation of Ninja Run because the only feature of the power I don't like are the running and standing-still poses.
(Sometimes, I wish there could be a Dev thumbs up button for quality posts, because you pretty much nailed it.) -- Ghost Falcon
So without more changes I'm guessing you won't be able to customize Flying to use the flyposes that were developed. Which is a shame, it seems like it would be perfect.
As for alternative running/standing? BABs, I don't expect powers to work easily... I'm sure your job revolves a lot around Murphy's Law being that nothing is easy, but I truly hope that we can look at Ninja Run as the beginning of something incredible.
However, the Slide was from a pay-for Collector's Edition. And the Devs are on record that anything that was a pay-for will never be free (the entirety of City of Villains notwithstanding).
They should bundle the goodies from the two CEs into a $5 Items Pack, but we've been throwing that suggestion at their brick studio walls for years and it hasn't stuck.
I guess the Devs hate money.

If somebody you're arguing with goes off the deep end, don't follow.
Remember, folks, you can customize a click or the activation animation on a toggle. Customization apparently doesn't let you effect how your character moves after the activation animation ends.

ADDED: in the future I would love to see more run styles, literally everybody I've seen on Freedom, ninja char or not, now is running around like a ninja. It's comical. Brutes made to look like a medieval warlord running like a ninja. Ebil clown toons running like ninjas. Undead deathlord zombie mm running around like a ninja, rofl.
And I wasn't really talking about the back end, but rather the UI.
It is nice to know you read the suggestions board, though!

How about you try this:
1. Have a toggle power.
2. Customization determines flyposeX and is linked to the customization for the power.
2. When on, it changes the flypose to flyposeX automatically every time you move forward.
3. When off, it does nothing.
We can already sort of do this with keybinding. So it can in fact be done with power customization. You can easily just put an if else statement.
OnKeyDown(key)
{
switch (key)
{
...
case: userSettings.stKeyBinds.eDirection
{
switch (Avatar.eMovementPower)
{
...
case eFly:
{
OnMove(eDirection, Avatar.stCustomPowerFly);
}
}
}
}
}
OnMove (EDirection eDirection, stCustomPowerFly)
If (travel power)
{
IssueSlashCommand(stCustomPowerFly.Value.ToString( ));
}
else
{
//default logic here
}
You're seriously violating the Standard Code Rant here. It's been said numerous times that it doesn't come down to programming in any specific language, but rather to knowing exactly how the engine and its instructions are set up and what those can and cannot achieve.
That, and I'd rather get real customization, not even more unslottable powers on my enhancements screen. Our best bet is to just hold out and see what comes with the next few Issues.

Which is the problem in a nutshell. Flying doesn't set your pose. Moving in that stance sets your pose.
Still, maybe a way to get around this problem. Maybe tie a macro to movement.
When they get around to power customization for travel powers, they should make the ninja run an alternate animation for combat jump, superjump, and superspeed.

Sorry, but I think this is a really bad idea. Here's why - as it is, Paragon City and the Rogue Isles have already become cluttered with Ninja Runners! Do you REALLY want to log on to City of Ninjas?
I definately think the travel power situation in this game is problematic, especially now with Champions Online, and their 15 travel powers! But, the solution is for us to add MORE travel powers, not to let everyone use the same animation. Ninja Run was a STEP in the right direction, because it adds to the diversity of travel powers available to super-heroes (and villains), but we need more.

I suspect this idea has come up in some of the giant threads on the new booster pack, but I thought I'd toss it in as a suggestion here.
When they get around to power customization for travel powers, they should make the ninja run an alternate animation for combat jump, superjump, and superspeed. I imagine it could work the same way as the alternate animations for martial arts and super strength. Of course, you would need to have purchased the booster pack before the option would be visible, just like you need to buy it before those new swords become visible when customizing your weapon.
