Villain can't be involved wtf you smoking now... you promoted event for champion but exclude Villains... I mean I know probably can't pay out to a villains but surely the villains who joining the event would keep that in mind and take the money on hero side. felecia stop being a retard... and change crap up.

Gotta say I agree with Elkie. I know in several of my pvp events I have ran it as influence only prizes eventhough villains were welcome to attend.

I want the event to run fast and with as few problems as possible.
Villians add a lot of questions to the event. One was about payout and if the villz would accept infamy i agree with all of you it would not be a problem, but there would be complications such as what if you bring your vill friends or someone brings a vill team and does not have a hero alt at the last minute?
Will you have your villz and heroes already in RWZ so we don't have to wait for the alts to be logged in and arrive for payment, because then we will run into the time scheduled for the next event!
It just makes sense to exclude the villians at this point. I have run many successful events and that is because i try to make it simple.
If i had seen or run a hero/vill event before i would not be concerned, but i see the possiblity of lots of things going wronge and i am trying to make sure everything runs smoothly so you all can enjoy yourselves.
We will run another 800 Million AE Challenge early in the new year and invite villians since we will have more time to allow for any problems but with a full day of events i feel this is not the time to experiment.
I guess all the suggestions from people that HAVE run cross faction events just went right over your head then..../e facepalm.
If you didn't want villains at your event, you should have made that abundantly clear in the original post, but you didn't.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

and LOLZ how long dose it take for some one to switch toons.
The real problem is that you shafted the vills that though they could come before and who started to get toons ready because you let them think they could come before.

since I avoid AE 90% of the time I will be some place else.

Move on to your next event and if they come back for their loot take 2 seconds to trade with them, if not...ohh well? Why in the world would it hold up your event? Only an idiot would just stand there and wait. You are teh uber event hoster person though, so I am sure you already knew that?
Excluding villains from a hero event is cool, there are lots of events that don't include both sides for obvious reasons. Hosting the event in RWZ where they can attend, telling them they can attend, having many preparing for your event to then exclude them, and quite rudely doing so...not cool.
Can't believe I missed this thread...
Full...Of...Win!

Anyhow.... If we win you can pay out my money to a hero that on my team.
I agree with everyone, time is a poor excuse to exclude villains. What it takes 30 seconds to log off back to the login screen then you just need to load a hero in.

Add in some coffee and this is a great way to wake up in the morning.
I know this isn't the right thread to banter in but seriously folks, WHAT IS THE DEAL??? We (PERC) just did a villains event in October and none of you guys showed up. Stop yelling, stop arguing, and stop bantering over the lack of attention villains get and start SHOWING UP!!! I'm over this crying! We are doing an event next weekend and villains better show up or the next person to say villains get no attention is going in the Marvelous Dungeon!

Not that its not appreciated, but some events just aren't popular especially when vills has lower pop. anyways.
what kind of event was it? costume contest? GM kill contest? This is a little bigger and requires practice and elitist team and when people have been practicing on vills to tell them now they cant use, its not really relative to talk about a completely different style event...with much smaller prize too.

I appreciate all the comments from both sides.
I just want to make it clear that AOW is a SG! We DO NOT have experience running events that include villians. Since it is our "SG" Anniversary we want events to run smoothly for the enjoyment of our members AND the hero community.
Those who play villians have a very valid point. They too have a right to come to events even if there are not very many of them. They want to have fun and enjoy themselves as well. They work just as hard on thier characters as heroes do.
In the new year AOW will host events for both sides!
This particular event he is referring to was a CC.... but frankly why does it matter.... we get the complaints on ANY event that does not include vils. SO its like we are damned if we do and damned if we dont. I do understand that there is a lvl of practice an all that went into prepping for this event and now its being changed but i mean in general beggars cant be choosers and its EXTREMELY frustrating to try to make things work for vils to show up to only to be slapped in the face. Whether the event is popular or not it shouldn't matter....that doesn't merit people not showing and then ******** at the next event that excludes vils. Its an unfair situation to be in PERIOD!!! Sorry for the rant but seemed the appropriate time to comment about this issue!

Totally understand the Rant. I get it probably better than anyone else does. This particular situation and this particular thread does not apply to what you are talking about though. This isnt people ******** that villains were never included in an event. This is a thread where the event was changed after months of people preparing for it. I personally know of several people that have been practicing for this on villains that just got ditched, and quite rudely actually. Had she politely posted " sorry guys but due to blah blah blah we have had to sadly change the event to not include villains" it probably would have been a bit easier to swallow. Instead it was more like " you guys suck and don't count anyways so go jump off a cliff and take your sucky pvp friends with you". Surely people complaining about that is understandable and not in the same boat as just complaining about villain events in general?

I think a easy fix to not having infamy is just give villains that join and win an option to pick a hero alt to receive the prize money on if they win.
