David's Sketch Thread
Egads! Thank god I never played on protector!! I'm not cool, never have been cool and except for one brief two week period in my early teens, never wanted to be cool. I much prefer laughing at those who are My combination geek/nerd/freak/average Joe thing would be shattered if I became cool anyways and I'm too darn old to be adapting to a whole new lifestyle...
So if having DN art makes you cool then thank goodness the man is too busy for rabble like me .. |

Just wanted to say congratulations David and keep at it.
Sidenote: @Sukothai, you forgot (or accidentally deleted) the [/ in front of the 2nd QUOTE which is why it didn't work right.
I guess us "cool kids" will just have to sit here feeling sorry for ourselves over collecting Nakayama art. *looks through his gallery sadly*
Sorry for the delay. My message took the scenic route!

Good luck with your search..i eneded up on your DA page somehow..
Dammit..i knew i should live in the US.. Stupid UK having no decent Cons... *trundles off grumbling*
Definitely - CONGRATS David!
Can't wait to see all the new stuff, and if you can make it happen...update the 1st generation art of NPCs, cars and such. The game has gotten some really cool looking stuff lately as well as new stuff coming up it seems. I know it may sound picky, but getting NPC character models to seem like they fit more in style with the hero/villian models would be really nice! Another nice touch would be to see kids and animals in general to add a more realistic touch to the environments. Again, congrats and good luck!
Oh...and maybe a hit a Con' in the Midwest please! Near Kansas City, Des Moines or Omaha

Nice get, Ob!
And hold the phone: DN got his screen name changed?
Yes, it happened a week or two ago when he revealed his signature character, Noble Savage (also briefly shown on GR VidDoc #2).
And thanks for the kudos. I've been waiting years to get a DN sketch, and I finally have one. It was really the only thing I desperately wanted at ComicCon. Everything else was icing.
I really need to watch those, then.
(One day...)
Nice, Obsidius! That DN is one cool guy.
Accidentally started a new thread, but I wanted to post my SDCC 2010 sketch in the official thread too.
He's a super-intelligent mutant kitten. She's a reanimated corpse. Together, they fight crime.
The Magnificent Mr. Piddles and Kelly
(Sometimes, I wish there could be a Dev thumbs up button for quality posts, because you pretty much nailed it.) -- Ghost Falcon
Mouse, that's just creepy, especially with the Mr. Piddles on the shoulder.
Welcome to the club!

I think this is one of my all time favorite character concepts from this game...
Hah, an animal with a stuffed human? Gold!
Meanwhile, I love David so much that I want to disguise myself as his backpack. I would get a horsey ride everywhere he goes and constantly get to look over his shoulder! It's a brilliant plan!
I finally got some photos of my entire collection of Nakayama art displays. They're not all the best pictures, but they give the gist.

This display is one of David's prints form Top Cow's City of Heroes run, Issue 7, page 7. On the left is David's original pencil work. My wife was fortunate enough to win this piece at the CoH M&G in Milpitas, CA, in 2007. To its right is the finished page, which I printed from the PDF onto photo paper (I have the original issue in my CoH comic collection).

These three pieces are two sketches done by David at ComicCon combined with an original work by me. My sketch of Obsidius was done by David this past ComicCon (the first in the drawing), and my wife's sketch was done last year in the drawing. We consider ourselves pretty lucky.
That's cool, Obsidius. Thanks for sharing your display with us.
