Any confirmation on new mission maps for GR?

I don't think marketing would hang you if you told us if we are getting new mission maps with Going Rogue. TBH, I think that would be a major selling point that should be played up in as many ways as possible.

Confirm-ish.

Every building that you enter in Pratoia will have a specific purpose and a context for the mission you are doing. It will no longer be "Generic Mayhem in the Office by Syndicate!"

It will be "You are entering GeneCo. to alter the repossession papers laid out by Rotti Largo."

I can't really imagine them doing that without at least a couple new maps.

Hmmm... I wish i could summon a dev to say, "Marcian is correct! New missions maps are on the way!". That would be so cool.

I was watching that just today, and am still singing bits of it.

That new feature i like a lot. Even we kind of have it in some missions, better that theres more now.

But yeah i want new maps too, you do get to remember EVERY single mob spawn point after a while.

I would <3 to see like atleast 20 or 30 new maps.
and like an additional 30 maps for everyday use like Newspapers/Radios... Swapped in to some of the more awesomer story arcs...

and like I wish they would redo/add to/fix cave maps in general... the blue ones make it hard to see stuff sometimes, and that becomes more of a hassle than a fun experience.
Then those Arachnos maps that have that weird lag spike thing in them... it would be nice if that got worked out with Going Rogue.

Its not actually that wierd to understand. There are two rooms that trigger the spike. The large cell block, and that huge 6 level or whatever pump room with the multiple thin walkways.

There is a lot of graphics and critters loading in a very short span once you move close enough to the room for the game to 'see' it.

Woudl be nice to have a fix, though.

20 or 30? You aim too low...I'd love to see 300-500 maps/tilesets/what have ya.

Look at the bright side, at least the thread title is clearly a question. Her *Going Rogue update* thread had loads of people complaining that it looked like it had info rather than being a request for info. So kudos to P_P for learning rules of basic punctuation.

Oh, and on topic: of course there will be new mission maps. We don't know how many but anyone who proposes with a straight face that the number will be zero is either laughably clueless or a troll. Can you imagine a new expansion with no new mission maps at all? What I'm more interested in is not just how many new maps there will be, but maps with special features like security spotlights that trigger ambushes, or maps with destructible objects like the one with the subs in Faultline.

But wouldn't that mean having to make a unique map for every single building in all the new zones? That's sounds kinda like a bit too much work...

Surely only the "main" buildings will have their own unique maps. Others would i presume have a bag full of maps that they can dip into when they chose which one is the lucky random map to be played.

But even those for a good few months will seem brand new I didnt even experience a jewellry shop map for over a year! When i saw one i was in awe!!! Took a ton of screenies incase it never happened again [got some good action screenies!].

There is bound to be a bunch of generic maps for a large majority of missions, but as long as they're a bit new/tweaked to the old ones then i think the majority will be pleased. Anything that suprises a player is a good thing imo.

I wonder what will happen to Mother Mayhems asylum and Tyrant's lair? Both of those maps don't seem to fit the new version of the Praetorians.
I guess Tyrant could have a secret lava cave lair under his tower where he goes to do his evil laugh where no one can hear him - but I don't think Mother Mayhem would work in such a run down asylum in a shiney techy city

Hmm you do make a good point...the current Mother Mayhem map (or Mercy hospital as I like to call it) wouldn't really fit with the new 'clean utopia' look of Praetoria.

Perhaps it starts out laid out as a regular hospital, nice, clean and stark white and the further down you go the more and more disturbing it becomes, cells full of twisted experiments howling for blood, hands clawing out of the little windows as you pass, signs of horrid experimentation until the bottom layer is a silent hill other world type hospital where Mother Mayhem and Malaise plot, plan and do their worst to those that they capture.

Because we all have questions we would like to have answered, but we all don't hide each question we have in a brand new thread trying to trick a Dev into answering it. It's the equivalent of "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" If we all posted our questions in new threads, the boards would be a mess.

It's also a case where *your* question is the Unique Snowflake that deserves its own thread but the rest of us have to line up in the huge, existing thread (where the Devs actually are answering questions, btw).
