OK, the "Get the News Out!" mission is officially stupid!

I like how different it plays. It does require you to be in the right place and have either an AoE attack or means of immobilizing/aggroing multiple foes. If you go in Solo with nothing but single target melee attacks you are in for a rough fight. Probably still possible but you will need a vacation afterward.

You just go to the "goal" area and wipe out everything there. Then there are 2 passages to that point. Stand in front of in the on on the right and attack anything coming toward you. Be sure to attack ALL mobs in the group and maintain their aggro or they will forget about you and start running again. In between kills you can usually have time to range out and kill 1 spawn you can see and return before the next mad pumkin rush. Just keep repeating and wait them out. Rarely mobs will go down the left path but you can clear out mobs on that side in breaks to prevent this.
I've completed this mission solo with single-target melee attacks.

However, what the OP is describing does not sound much at all like what happened when I did it. It doesn't sound like it's working properly.

It wasn't working properly, that's the big thing. A missions shouldn't be CAPABLE of being failed less than 30 seconds after you zone in it, for one. For another, spawns are triggering too early in some cases. I don't know if it's been fixed, as I haven't seen it recently, but the generator attackers definitely triggered as soon as I zoned in.

There is almost certainly some code broken that means all mob dialogue will play when you enter a zone, and that all their behaviour patterns that usually start then you aggro them/they become active will also begin sooner than it should do.

How to fix it? I haven't got the foggiest =S

I just BARELY completed this mission last night with the help of advice from this thread.

Even forwarned, I found it more aggravating than challenging...but at least it didn't fail the second I zoned.

When I did this mission on my dom quite a while ago, I completed it just fine. None of the generators fell under attack before I got to them, and in fact the most annoying part was hunting for the reporter.

A few weeks back, me and my brother went through this mission again on our way to 50 with our duo, and it was like night and day. The first time through on his copy of the mish, we went looking for the generators and the mission failed just as we came in sight of where the first one had been. Booted out, we stood there blinking for a while before we set *my* copy of the mission and tried again. This time we took off at high speed immediately, and I got lucky to find a generator close to the entrace and take the aggro with force bubble before the nemesis took off the last 2 or so pixels of health. That was the only generator to survive.

Obviously the mission isn't working as intended, but for now if you want to try to complete it you've got to move *fast*. If you get lucky, maybe you can find a generator and distract the attackers before it dies.

Okay so my lvl 49 Fire/Earth Assault Dom. just got this mission today and wanted to look 'how to beat it' up...remembered this thread and so here I am.

I just completed this mission...it was really...boring actually. I think I lost 1 generator...never had an issue...I had an issue finding Amanda Vines actually...couldn't find her so I just started to defeat all the mobs I found (even the Nem. Mole Machines :/). After I defeated the last Mole Machine I finally found Amanda in a little corner...defeated the two guarding mobs and the mission completed.

I will say once I entered the mission I used the Reveal power (just in case) then went down the ramp and got to the first generator I saw, defeated the 2 mobs that were there to begin with and I thought I saw ambush text but didn't see anything coming. I waited for a good few minutes but still nothing....

So there was a Mole Machine right next to the generator (close enough) so I was bored and while waiting for any ambushes I defeated that MM. Still nothing so I *shrug* and go defeat Silver Mantis. Still didn't see any ambushes. Finally after hoping/leaping around looking for Amanda, I see 2 Nem. mobs standing around like usual next to a Mole Machine and then I started to attack them; then I noticed there were 2 other Nem. mobs that were actually attacking their own Mole Machine....this was next to the generator that I saved. O_O So that's why the ambushes weren't showing up...they were attacking their MM...which was nice btw (they had it down to 25% health by the time I got to them). Finished them off and the other 2 ambushes that came afterwards, 1 gen. saved.
