Actually I was a little surprised that anyone was still paying attention to this thread enough to post in it. I was amusing myself reading it until I came across this little bit here. I have played EvE Online and this statement *BREAKS* the BS meter.

The best mining ship in EvE is called the Hulk. What Firewasp referred to as the "Largest epic mining barge". It is considered a Tech 2(T2) class ship. The best equipment(Mining or otherwise) available to it is T2 class equipment.

Tech 3 equipment is specialized equipment that only works with one class of ship. The T3 ship class called "strategic cruisers". On top of that none of the T3 equipment has any bearing on mining output or yields. You do not use strategic cruisers for mining. You can't even fit T3 equipment on anything other then strategic cruisers. Lets not even get into the whole the whole super secret exploit thing.

So basically Firewasp spouted a bunch of BS about EvE Online that anyone with anything better then a passing knowledge of that MMO knows is total BS to assert why his opinion in this game is valid.

Wow.

Well technically his opinion (that an all Defender team would rock) is perfectly valid, admittedly it's an observation on the order of stating that water is wet but it is valid .

None of his other "achievements" struck me as plausible (despite knowing nothing about the games in question) with the possible exception of the WoW one which basically said they leveled 1-60 in roughly 48 hours. That one merely sounds unlikely, not impossible although given the amount of BS in his posts I tend to discount that as well. It's a pity he never came back though, this thread was awesome.

This actually doesn't really hold true anymore. The game was largely developed before the ESRB ratings had been retooled, particularly in regards to violence. The given reason that everything was "defeat" or "arrest" for people (though more violent sounding words like "destroy" or "blow up" can be used for bases or vehicles containing people) was that to use death language would warrant a Mature rating, rather than Teen. That would mean restricting who could buy the game in the USA, and certainly give some parents the idea their kids shouldn't be playing the game.

However, by the time the game was released the rating had been changed. Now to warrant Mature in regards to violence, it has to be very graphic language, use blood or other graphic imagery. You can see a progression in language from the earliest content added, with a big jump at CoV, and culminating at GR where you explicitly choose (in the form of alignment choices) whether or not to kill someone. There's actually many places where the script, navigator, and now choices use words that cannot simply be written off as "arrest."

Naturally there's still all of the content we started with. You can easily bypass any unsavory actions. Even the tip missions that suggest you will be murdering someone give you the option to go another route, or you can simply dismiss any such tips. Of course even with the addition of the occasional explicit reference to killing, it doesn't saturate all the new content. However, trying to pass a character off as a pacifistic in this game is a biiiiig stretch at best at this point. At least if you plan to level.

Was on an all blaster ITF PUG recently. Sucessful. Nobody had heal other either.

Sometimes I wish they had more caps/limits for buffs/debuffs because a team of Defender/Corr/Troller/Mastermind is very sick due to all the force multipliers.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
